Thanks for attending the 4th race tonight. We are now halfway through the series. We had 12 on the grid at the start, but finished with 9. Cooper and Trotter had some connection issues, Not4a4 had problems in the pits, (as well as a few others). They will all receive some points for their participation.

The Sunday Cup race 4 provisional results

1st...COBANI
2nd...THIRD_REIGN
3rd...JAMESYBOGRAT
4th...GOODWOLF_
5th...ADE3210
6th...OMNIUS
7th...COBRIUS
8th...DOWLON39
9th...OPTIMOOSE
DNF...COOPER
DNF...TROTTERLOVER
DNF...NOT4A4

DONT FORGET TO DO THE NEXT UPGRADES TO YOUR CARS.

After race 4 you will be able to choose one of the remaining upgrades, and set the BHP to 187.

Well that was good fun tonight. Sorry to Cobani for getting his hopes up so high. I managed to pull off 57.3 times in my lounge, but didn't have the tire wear enabled. Having warm tires at perfect condition had me lapping about a second faster on average. That would have put me right up there for a nice first place battle.

Nontheless, the battles with Jamesy and Goodwolf were fun. We had pretty good action in the first half.

For the people missing/unable to pit at Tsukuba: The Japanese have very strict speed limits. Entering the pit lane too fast will get penalized on the spot via kick out. Best to slow down almost to halt before entering the yellow pit lane. Cutting in late will give you a drive through penalty. Still don't get why PD hasn't fixed this yet, but oh well.

Pretty fed up about this tonight :( at the end of the 1st lap everyone just vanished :(.

I wan't pitting or anything. I'm out of the running now :(.

Will need to see if I can sort out the issue before commiting to the next race.

Cooper, You will still receive some points based on your qualifying position tonight. It was not your fault, and I was looking forward to another ADE/COOP battle. In the replay your car is very gltchy until you got dc'd. I was gutted too mate. You will still be in the running.

Good racing as always ade!

Loving the series, half way eh? Where's it going....

Have you ideas for SCII?

Third_Reign is some boy! Better watch out for him - he's got some pace 👍

Awesome battles tonight with Dowlin and Cobrius, just like Monza, I feel more like an integral part to each race, I'm quite liking my performance with the Elise at the moment :)

...not to sure it will last considering where we're off to next :ill:

Going to phone up about the broadband tomorrow, its been getting slower and slower. started out at 18mbits on speedtest.net when we got it and tested it tonight an it gave me 1.8mbits!

Was really looking forward to the battle! I think we qualified pretty close. Ah well!

I was right behind/along side you for most of the first lap. I could tell you were having some serious internet issues, to me your car was poping all over the place and it was getting worse until you vanished

Thanks again everyone for your participation in last nights race. For the first time we finished with less than we started due to internet connection and pit stop issues. We had a full grid of 12, and Cooper was very unlucky as he got disconnected in the first lap after qualifying 6th on the grid. For this he will receive half the points he would have got, had he finished in that position. 6th place=7 point, so 3.5 points rounded up to 4.

Not4A4 and Trotter, both suffered the same pit entry incident as Jamesy did. This was caused by entering the pit lane too late, or cutting the grass or cones. Both felt that they could not continue. They too will receive the same qualifying position points that Cooper gets. (As it did catch quite a few out, it was unexpected)

These pit stop incidents may well mean that we need to practice pitstops in the future.

I had an excellent race, and was very close to Jamesy, Third_reign and Goodwolf for the first 10 laps, with Omnius biting at my heels until he had a spin in lap 5, but the real star of the show was rocketman Cobani, finishing 38 seconds ahead of Third_reign, who for the first time this series managed to alter the podium. It may not have been in the order it was if Jamesy hadnt had a bad pit stop, but who knows.

We are halfway through the series now, and so far we have had 15 racers taking part. I would like to thank you all, as it your participation that is making The Sunday Cup.

Upgrade options every 2 races.

UPGRADE OPTION 1. Sports ECU.

UPGRADE OPTION 2. Sports manifold and cat.

UPGRADE OPTION 3. Sports intake and racing air filter.

You may buy and try any of the above, but you must only install 1 of the UPGRADE OPTIONS, and once you have carried it out set the power to 187BHP using the power limiter.
(UPGRADE OPTIONS 2 and 3 include both parts listed.)

After race 4 you will be able to choose one of the remaining upgrades, and set the BHP to 187.

After race 6 you will be able to install the last upgrade, and set the BHP to 197.

Not much separating 4th, 5th & 6th :sly: 👍

No there isnt, 2 points between the three of us, the midfield battle is very close. I will put some pics on tomorrow of the race, which will include the pit stops that were deemed illegal. Sunday will be short race practice for Daytona, so dont forget to do your upgrades.

As promised, here are the pictures of some of my highlights from Sundays race at Tsukuba. There are also some pictures that show why some drivers got a drive through penalty instead of a pit stop.

Loving photo 7!!!! Granted I've span out, but with the tire smoke, the car with angled front wheels is looking pretty nice!

YES! 👍

Also nice, Ade, that you visually explained the Pitstop Peculiarities that occurred. (had to 'Google' that ...:dunce:)

Good thing i did a lot of Tsukuba time trials reenacting "Best Motoring International" Battles and remembered the Roadster A-Spec endurance concerning the Tsukuba Pits. I really like that track, so I knew about the quirks it has.

All those Growling Beauties getting in line on the twisty bit of the track ...

SC_Race4_005.jpg

Even in Japan Cobani's fans were full of support ... (Thanks mum)

SC_Race4_006.jpg

On cold tyres Cobani eaked out a lead ...

SC_Race4_007.jpg

Diving into the final corner trying to escape the pack ...

SC_Race4_008.jpg

My favorite corner of the track ...

SC_Race4_009.jpg

"Is that ... ? Yes it is! Oh nooo, he's onto the grass!" ...
"No Murray, it's just the angle of the camerashot."

SC_Race4_010.jpg

Pushing hard did mean for some close calls ...

SC_Race4_011.jpg

The dicing between Jamesybograt and Third Reign gave Cobani some breathing space ...

SC_Race4_012.jpg

Controlling the race pace ...

SC_Race4_013.jpg

Eaking out a few tenths every lap ...

SC_Race4_014.jpg

Driving a lonely race against the clock was interrupted by Trotterlover not making the pits ...
(All in good fun Trotter!👍)

SC_Race4_015.jpg

A lap later Cobani's eased into the pitlane as the first of the front runners ...

SC_Race4_016.jpg

With no traffic at all and a pitcrew so fast they don't show on the shot ...

SC_Race4_017.jpg

Cobani gets underway for the second half or his race ...

SC_Race4_018.jpg

Only to find Goodwolf blasting down the straight in pursuit of second place Third Reign ...

SC_Race4_025.jpg

In hot pursuit ...

SC_Race4_026.jpg

Third Reign pits as Goodwolf decides to do another lap ...

SC_Race4_027.jpg

Cobani retakes track position into the first corner ...

SC_Race4_028.jpg

And makes it stick ...

SC_Race4_029.jpg

Special reference to Optimoose for being a great sport and giving way for the leader ...

SC_Race4_030.jpg

Cobani's last lap saw him entertaining the crowd on his way to the chequered flag.

Final thoughts:
Tsukuba did turn out to be a race against the clock and getting the gap up with a tenth here and there every lap was my main focus.
Highlight of the race has to be the dice with Goodwolf halfway through the race. That was really good fun and high standard racecraft.

Amazing pictures again Cobani, I enjoy reading your race reports.👍
Sunday will be short race practice for The Daytona Road coarse. I havnt had any time for practice yet, but will try to get some on Saturday. I think I will use this time to familiarize myself with the pit lane. Dont forget to do your upgrades for this race.

Great write up Cobani. Goodwolf running good camber here.

Just a fan looking in.

Cheers Joylord, its great to have feeback from another racing league organiser, especially one of the most popular in the forum, TCR. 👍👍👍

Before the second half of this championship kicks in with free practice on Daytona this Sunday
I would like to share my setups from the previous races.
Off course all setups are inextricably tied (<-Google 👍) to personal style and preference,
but maybe it will influence, help or astonish :) some of you. :odd: :boggled:

👍👍👍

 Cobani I really enjoyed every second of it. I was trying to get my first podium but Third Reign didn't make mistakes and he had two tenths on me.

I'm using the positive toe on the front. My reason is that it helps stabilize the front end on Elise cars. With other cars I don't have the same problem.

Yes, these settings (see original post) are all double checked now and the positive toe apparently works for me.

:), good fun Goodwolf, curious if others also use positive toe like us ...

May have to have a bit of a test with this, it may be that I also need to look at my front spring rate too.

Just had a quick 10 minute test at Daytona road, and considering I only ever used to race on here in Aspec, I really enjoyed it. The Elise goes really well here, and its just as well we have the upgrades this week as we will be taking the cars faster than we have yet this series. There will be lots of slipstream to take advantage of. My best lap in this short test was 1:58.9xx.

Edit, now down to 1:58.2xx. I am liking this track more and more, especially the double chicane. There are a couple of places where I think I can make some time however.

PRACTICE TONIGHT IS AT 8.00pm BST, just in case you havnt put your clocks forward.

my best is a 2.01, need to find some time from some where. :grumpy::ill:

I'm afraid my ability to turn up for practice was some-what scuppered....friends were visiting, and once I started on these....

That was me for the night  HAIL THE ALE! 👍

Great practice tonight, I think we learnt a lot about Daytona , slip streams, set ups and bus stops. I will post the fastest times from the short races we had tomorrow.

Also, the pit lane has 2 exit routes. When we race next Sunday we will be using the second exit lane out of the pits. The first exit brings cars out directly onto turn 1, and is dangerous. The second takes you down a narrow lane before the exit.

I will be having another open practice session next Saturday from 8.00pm. If anyone would like to join, feel free.

No worries mate, hope the ale was good.

Hi fellow drivers!

I'm back from a wonderful vacation on the Islands of Cape Verde. If you want sun, long beaches and a relaxed atmosphere, and have the possibilities you just have to go there! 👍
The only thing that I missed was the regulary race events. :)

It seems like you have had great races and fun and now it's time for me to dust off my rig and enter Daytona. I am probably very out of shape but tonight I will get into hard training, so I welcome everybody else to join. I surely need some tips...

I believe that I will be online about 7.00 - 7.30 GMT.
