Tnx for the link:tup:
Didn't know about flux thing, will try to buy it somewhere.

Any electrical store that supplies stuff for soldering should sell it. Hairdryer and heatgun does work, but only short term. Oven trick does fix it for a lot longer. Definitely worth being brave and pulling your ps3 apart.

I've done the heat gun method many times and the best I got was 1 month. But it was enough to get a data transfer/backup for a new console. Which was all I wanted anyway. Depending on how technically proficient you are it can seem daunting, take it step by step and don't rush. That's how I did it my first time. 👍

OK racers, heres the details of the laps for this coming Sundays race. I have done the maths to get the times as near as possible to 15 and 45 minutes based on the times we have set already. These races will over run the time's set, but not by much. (seconds in race 1, and maybe a couple of minutes in race 2)

EVENT2_zps04fa2d9d.png

If I had set the laps any lower, the races would have been too short.

Practice sessions will resume this coming Friday at 8.00pm, and Saturday at the same time.

Cheers Ade

There were some great times last practice so got to improve if im going to keep up with the front runners.
Going for a few laps now, see you guys online soon:nervous:

Great little impromptu practice saw 5 racers tonight. GC Gary added his first times to the table, and everyone else managed to better previous times. Hopefully some more times can be added/improved over the next 2 nights before Sundays race.

Manage to turn on my PS, but only for once before it YLOD again...
Only managed to get my GT out:guilty:

I won't be racing this sunday for sure and I'm not sure when I will be able to buy new PS, so Ade, you can put me on reserved list:tdown:

That is a real shame mate. I will put you on the reserve list as requested, but if you do manage to get it fixed, or get another PS, you will be reinstated straight away.

Practice tonight will be from the usual time. Room will be open from 8.00pm, with a free run tyre testing period until 9.00pm. (so we can see how many laps the SS tyres are good for) Then some short races.

Awesome practice saw 8 of us on track tonight. Before the timed runs, we spent an hour running on the SS tyre to check durability. After that we ran 5 6 lap races on the SS tyre. It was great fun, with great banter, and everyone got new PB's. Weescotman ended the session as pace setter, but with a lot of racers now in the 18's, this could be anyones race. Mistakes at Cape will be costly, so a clean race may mean victory. One more practice will be held tomorrow at 8.00pm.

So I'm not the pacesetter, but here is my tune I'll end up using tonight.

I was asked for some guidence and hopefully this will help some.
Please send improvents on this tune to this thread Cpt-D ;) 👍

Race you tonight gentlemen. (but first Spa!) :mischievous:

Cheers Bo for posting your set up. Tonights race will be awesome, but unfortunately Dowlin will not be available to do the live stream tonight. Last nights practice showed that Third is still the dominant driver on the medium tyre, getting into the 19's. Heres tonights lobby rules and timetable.

Also, as you are aware, the venue for the 3rd event has been kept under wraps. Until last night that is. A few laps were run at the custom track at the end of the practice runs. Some of you will have raced this track before, as it was an iconic track used in the Core GT series. So this is my way of paying homage to The Core GT series, and to have one last race on this track in GT5. Omnius kindly gave me permission to use the track, cheers Omnius 👍👍👍

Heres one lap of Cheviot GT.

Ahead of tonights races, I just wanted to remind everyone of the manual start procedure. This will only need to be used in the event of any DCs during or just after race 1.

Drivers are required to stay in the lounge until they are called onto the track, in the correct reverse grid order. When called, go out on the track, and stay in the requested order. When everyone is on track and in the correct order, STOP. I will manually start the race, and we will have the correct reverse grid. This will only be necessary in the event of disconnections before race 2.

Also, If you are going to start race 2 on the Medium tyre, make sure you set it to this in the settings in the lounge, not the pit.

^^ I did not do this at Rome as i did not realise we had to leave the track for settings to stick. Its worth checking lads. Also cheers for the tuning tips, very helpful to a noob tuner like myself:dopey:
I have ordered my first driving wheel ( g27 ) cannot wait till it gets here.feels like christmas.:sly: Good luck to everyone tonight, see you online

Sorry guys. I can't get onto the Internet at all now, think my router has gone kaput or there is some sort of issue with the broadband connection..... Hope you have a good 2nd race. See you next time.

Sorry to hear you missed the 2nd race buddy, I know how you feel, i was half way through the 2nd when mine decided to stop working. I feel your pain :yuck:
What date is the next race on, any one know?

Quite the races tonight!

Always had a nasty shadow following me. Race 1 Cobani was sticking to me like glue where we did one 18.8 after another. I had to pull out a 18.4 to finally get rid of him only to find out he pulled off the same act Kimi did today...silly brake failures.

Race 2 was also very eventful. I saw everyone opted for the medium tyres so i thought and take advantage of this by dashing away on softs first stint. In my 33lap practice I was losing a second after lap 24 on the softs, so I thought I'll have good chances on fresh mediums when facing the worn softs of others. The plan didn't work out quite as well as weescotman also chose the same strategy. Laps he was leading usually ended up in the low 19s, so I had to find a way to get past, which didn't turn out too easy. Laps I was leading quickly became almost a second faster a lap, interestingly scotman was able to follow me the entire time. He even pulled out a 18.38x in my slipstream so I was quite surprised things where so much slower when he was in front.
The stint on the Mediums had me sweating as Captain D was quickly gaining ground. a 19.945 and a 20.0 helped a bit and I could save the race lead across the line, a lap more and I might have been screwed!

A bit of a downside where the blue flags in race two. I was flashing like a madman but still had to fight for the pass, once it even affected the racing as I lost a position due to opposition of the back marker. Taking a wide line in one of the three hairpins shouldn't be too difficult.

Well as promised, here the tune I used this race:
Rideheight: 7 | 9
Springrate: 6.4 | 10.4
Damper E: 4 | 6
Damper C: 3 | 5
ARB: 1 | 2
Camber: 2.2 | 2.0
Toe: 0.00 | 0.08

Aero: 20 | 50
Brakes: 5 | 1

Gearing: Secret ;)

Tuned for use on a wheel, so no guaranty on DS3 compatibility.

Awesome racing tonight gents. It seems there were close battles going on all over the place. It was a shame that Jammy couldnt get his router up and running in time, and join us for the 2nd race. We delayed until 10.30, and were 3 laps in when he managed to get back in. I had a super close battle with Cobani in race 2, but thats a story for another night. Tonights post is for the winners on the podium. Well done, champagne anyone?

Great racing gentlemen and congratulations to Third, Gary and Will for the podiums. 100% domination by Third this time around. 👍

Just like Kimi ...

In race 2 the Scotchisch tape Will invented ;) went after a handfull of laps, causing confusion for Goodwolf, sorry for that mate.

Still great racing!

From how you were talking last night I thought you had broken the L2 trigger from the dualshock3. Hope you get it fixed for (inset shameless plug) the 500pp club Ferrari F40 practice and race this Wednesday and Friday respectively. Click my Sig for more info 👍

No problem Cobani. Good thing you turned on your mike because we would lose even more time.👍

My racing yesterday wasn't spectacular but I didn't get disconnected and I did my personal best times with very consistent driving. In the first race I was trying my best to get the most out of the setup and to stay with the front runners. Had a great battle with Cpt D but at the end I couldn't stay with him and finished 4th.

Second race, although longer, was more action packed for me. I thought about using SS tyre but changed my mind because starting from the back meant overtaking a lot of drivers very fast on a narrow track. In front of me were still drivers who got into 18's so it was big possibility to get stuck behind someone, and on a faster tyre that wouldn't be good.

I made a good decision and I was almost in 4th when GC missed his braking point and we almost ended up in the wall in the last turn.
Now I had to get by ade and Cobani. Pits were very busy on lap 9 so I gave it all and pitted on lap 10. That was a very good decision because I rejoined right behind Fuel in 5th.
This was an epic battle that lasted for 20 laps. I knew it won't be easy to get in front because of our previous battle from the FIAT 500 series. It was really difficult to get close and Fuel was very good at defending his position in T1, where it turned out to be the only place I could overtake. Finally when I was close enough I knew I will need to go by from the outside and brake very late after the slipstream. Somehow I managed it and I was right beside Fuel going into the next right handed turn in front taking 4th place at the end once again.

Thank you all for a great time!👍👍👍
