Well what a fantastic nights racing. Ive had a quick flick through the replays to get the details for the table's. Awesome entertainment.

Race 1. It was a bit bumpy at the start for a few, but it settled down by the end of lap 1. I enjoyed a 6 lap battle with Fuel and GC Gary, until Fuel managed to get ahead and break the slip, which left me chasing GC for a further 3 laps, until he went in too deep on T1 lap 9. I managed to keep ahead and take 6th place.

Race 2. Started on the mediums, and was soon envolved in some super close racing with GC, Goodwolf and Capt D. Then Cobani got past me, and the pack spread out until lap 9, when Cobani suffered his controller malfunction, which alowed me to catch up. Into the pits on the same lap, and I was exited ahead of Cobani. That was the start of an epic 17 lap battle, which required some defensive driving into T1, on almost every lap. Lap 26, and Cobani got out of shape in T2, gave me enough to break the slip. Thought I had 6th place in the bag, and was gaining on Fuel for 5th, but on lap 35, I lost it coming out of the second hairpin. Cobani passed me, to take the place.

Awesome racing gents, thank you. Heres the reults....

Qualified fifth, finished fifth in the first race and fifth in the second race. Can't complain about that huh?

I think most problems with tapping at the last corner was down to people using very different braking times and lines into the corner. I for one tried to brake as the car got loose when I exited the quick chicane which allowed me to take the hairpin fairly quickly and tight to the kerbs. Others took a more traditional brake in a straight line then turn in. And when the two met it meant a few little love taps, Goodwolf and I had a few from either side but we resolved it on track 👍.

Race one for me was about getting away cleanly and through that first corner, which wasn't as successful as I had hoped. After that I had a cracking battle with GC and Ade, thankfully I managed to break the tow and gap them a bit by the end.

Race two had a terrible start. I think Weal must have jumped started or something as when the guy behind him on the grid skipped past him I had no sight of the slower car and slammed into the back of him. That put me last. "Luckily" there was a bit of a melee during the quick left, right, left of corners 3, 4, and 5 which allowed me to grab a few spots back. Biggest part of this race was Goodwolf and I fighting over 4th place. It lasted near enough 27 laps of back and forth and me driving super defensive to try and keep the faster guy behind. Couldn't do it in the end, but what a race! Even when he passed we couldn't be separated and I think we ended up less than two seconds apart at the end.

Awesome evening and I'll make sure to get next race off work as well ;)

STEWARD'S INQUIRY

I have been asked to investigate an incident in race 1, so tonight I have viewed the replay over and over from several points of view. The incident in race 1, lap 1 final hairpin, which involved Fuelmyfire and Gtp_Capt_D was investigated. I also asked for an independent, unbiased view of the incident.

Result. An illegal pass was made on Capt_D by Fuelmyfire.

Description of events. Coming into the final chicane on lap 1, Fuel was behind Capt_D. Capt_D had track position and was in 3rd place. Fuel came into the turn much faster, and went to the inside, however there was not any room. Capt_D tried to avoid any contact from Fuel's car, by turning away. Fuels car then left the track. (All 4 wheels on the grass). As he came back onto the track, he collided with Capt_D, sending Capt_D wide, and Fuel went into 3rd place. He remained in 3rd place until lap 3.

The position should have been returned after the incident. By the time Capt_D had got back past Fuel on lap 3, he was too far behind 1st and second place to catch up, possibly loosing out on points.

Penalty. 20 second stop/go penalty to Fuelmyfire.

The times from race 1 show that Fuel finished 16.1 seconds behind 1st place. Adding 20 seconds takes him to 10th place for this race, with everyone in between awarded an extra point for the position gained.

The result of this inquiry changes both the race 1 points and driver standings.

My thoughts on this have been heard. It was not an attempted pass it was avoiding action. I did let off the gas to allow people back through, obviously wasn't enough, and it made little change to the outcome of the race.

But a decision has been made and I have to stick with it.

Here's my thoughts on the incident:

You started 5th, you sent Will (weescotman) into a spin after the first corner placing you 4th. You hit me on the last hairpin of the first lap placing you 3rd, which you maintained until you fell off on the third lap all by yourself. You gave no positions back.

Calm down, that way we can all have a good race.

What's done is done, but I will say this, if you put someone off by accident, don't go and carry on. Wait until the person has rejoined and got going again. Read the good race guide.

Seeing as I didn't post anything from Rome, sorry about that. I figured I should pull my finger out and get some pictures From Cape Ring South.
Here's race 1

Always a pleasure socal. 👍
Top work as always captain Gary 👍👍👍 but only the last nine pictures show in the post on the android app? When you select one the others are in the top bar. Can anyone shed any light on that?

Awesome pics Gary (Lawrence) and Gary (Captain), 👍👍 I dont often get the time to do pics, as all the other Sunday Cup stuff takes up a lot of my PS3 time, so its really rewarding to see the enjoyment of others through their pics. Cheers guys, 👍

Same on my app aswell Gary, only shows 9 pics, yet lots more thumbnails across the top bar. If I scroll it left it shows some of your pics.

Its a busy weekend racing with GCGary's F40 race on Friday, and Goodwolfs Maserati practicing and race on Saturday and Sunday. I will be getting some weeknight practice at Cheviot next week ahead of the 3rd event of SCR, to get an idea for the lap counts for each race.

Great pictures Gary's!

Great racing weekend ahead, including an endurance @Spa fridaynight after Gary's F40's and finishing with Goodwolf's Maserati.

Note for any interested readers, see my signature. (or the signature above)

Thanks for the Pictures, great!

I was curious about the Cheviot track so I took a bunch of laps tonight. It's a fast track! Tried to figure out the lines in the bend up the hill and the last...and I understand that I have more work to do. :)

I've only done about 8 myself and I agree. This next race will be hard. But then again I might not be able to make it.

Next week will see the first times posted at Cheviot to determine lap counts for the races on the 8th Sept. We may also see the return to SC of #74. The creator of Cheviot, and Sunday Cup veteran Omnius will hopefully join us in this event at the iconic Core GT track.

Welcome back Omnius !

Really disappointed by my router /dc issues at the last race. Made the racing virtually impossible during the first race and the 2nd race I just couldn't get onto the Internet....

Congrats to the podium finishers.

I now have a replacement router so hopefully I can join one of the upcoming practice sessions to see if it's rectified things.

Yes ... well I tried a few laps on Cheviot and well ... it's a little bit built on a mountain ... big bump :D but it's a very good track 👍👍 See you next race :)
