Now that my Tinterweb has finished it's spaz attack, I'll be on in about half an hour to do some more running if anyone is aboot?

Another 4 hour practice session last night, saw a few improvements, and had some great banter. Im happy with my set up, which is based on Velocis, with some slight adjustments to toe angles to suit my style of driving.
Sport Medium tyre.

It's gonna make for an interesting results table, that's for sure. I was so looking forward to perhaps getting on the left side of the table.:grumpy:

I was terrible this evening... Almost like the game had had enough. Was like driving around on 10 pence pieces... Dunno what's happened.

I am going to have to publicly issue a formal complaint agains myself on behalf of Dowlin39. I made an aggressive move on him around the lap 20 mark (cant remember exactly) and tapped him enough to go off track a bit. I fully apologize for those actions and accept an charges that come about thereafter.

Let me explain why I put us in that position.

Great opening laps, seemed like it was going to be a fun race, until my TV decided to make my life difficult. It randomly changed TV inputs and I had to pause to change them back. Sorry if that impeded anyone's progress. So afterwards, justifiably, I was pissed, but I chose to put it behind me and rush up to catch theewar, not an easy task.

I caught up to Cpt D and Dowlin and we had a great battle, albeit longer than I wished, but I finally got past them and on to catching theewar. I was making progress and halved the splits to him and was bringing along the other two in tow. I made a mistake in the long 4-apex corner but caught it before all hell broke loose but the gap to the two behind me went to naught. I thought maybe theyd stay behind and let me bring them to theewar.

The next lap, we go into turn one and I get pitted from behind by Dowlin and passed by both. This infuriated me, but what really got me was I had to pass them again to catch back up. So my temper was short and I got past Cpt D cleanly but made an aggressive move to the inside of Dow on the second to last corner.

Anyways, I just wanted to let you, Dowlin and everyone else that it was not like me to do such a move and not to have any hard feelings because of it. If need be, I will accept any and all disciplinary action for my actions.

Well guys, thats race 3 done. It wasnt without its issues, the biggest being the world wide web being a pain in the Head and Neck support. We lost 5 to DCs tonight, and those that did suffer will still receive DC points. Those that remained, enjoyed a super action packed race.

With Veloci's admission to an incident with Dowlin, which was also bought up in the lobby after the race, the podium is on hold for tonight. I will view the replay tomorrow, and come to a decision after conferring with the race stewards.

Thank you for the apology Veloci I very much appreciate it, I was going to bring it up in the lobby while you were there but you left almost immediately but I did inform Ade of the incident.

As for the part where I pitted you, I didn't hit your car on my screen at least, perhaps on your end I did but it looked like you just ran very wide. I did get very close because of your slipstream under braking but like I said, there was no contact on my screen. I can give you guys my replay to check both these incidents if you wish. The pitting incident occured on the first corner of lap 15 and the other was at the second last corner of lap 16.

Otherwise I had a great race. Made very few mistakes, and my fastest time was less than a tenth of the fastest too. My heart was in my mouth for the first few laps trying not to go off, along with Will breathing fire down my neck. It's a shame he lost the car when he did as we were having a great battle, but at the time I was so grateful it happened  I was really surprised when Veloci got past Cpt_D as I thought it was Cobani the whole time. Us three had a long and hard battle.

Just disappointed that with the incidents and the lag spike which saw Cpt_D smash into the back of me resulted in me being out of contention for 2nd. I was very lucky to get 3rd after all that, suppose I have Warren to thank for that  👍 I did manage to pull 3 seconds out of the gap between me and Cpt_D on the Hard stint but too little too late.

Overall I'm happy to be back on the Sunday Cup Podium. 👍

Well that was both enjoyable and very frustrating in parts! A bit of a rough first lap where I was rammed from behind, from the side and overtaken off the track before we'd seen 3 corners (I think we need to remember the race is not won on the first lap...) , but it settled down for a few laps and I had a good fun battle with sholesy for several hard faught laps, amongst which I gave him room for a clean overtake, but for me to repass on the next straight (about lap 7 or 8 I think) . Great stuff. Eventually I made a mistake though, ran wide and he was through.

I had an untidy few laps after that, with the track punishing me for a couple of slightly wide corner entries catching me out with me putting a back wheel onto the grass each time.

I was in 8th place prior to my pitstop, and involved in a battle with Goodwolf and Rosen. But for the second race in succession my entry to the pits was greeted with NO choice of tyres!!!! :banghead: I tried to consciously take it easy into coming into the pits, but it did not give me the option of tyres! *If* I was touching the throttle, how daft is it that the option to pick tyres should be dictated by the throttle pedal! Why not just a button?! But the fact is, it didn't even flash up quickly which if it had, might have indicated I pressed the throttle, but it didn't, no evidence of it at all!

I'm getting a bit frustrated with it now to be honest. What's the point in me competing if the pits aren't giving me a fair deal! It cost me at least two positions as I went down to tenth, and with my frustration I started to get more ragged after that. Perhaps as part of practice sometime we can have a race with a pitstop?! Dunno, just an idea.

Anyway, it's also a shame about the other competitors who had their connections drop. It started to stutter at one point and I thought there would be even more dropping out. Hopefully the developers can get thess issues sorted soon.

Yeah sorry Jam, I had two wheels on the grass overtaking you down to Graham Hill bend, think we were three abreast with Soka? I was scrabbling to get back as we'd both been punted to the outside of Druids.:yuck: The punt had straightened me down the hill so found traction and speed going to GH bend.

Early race blood rush bud. My bad. Ade will tooth comb it. Lot to sort through me thinks with DC's also.

We had a lovely bunch of laps further into it mate. 👍

Cheers mate. Well it just seemed like I was pushed from pillar to post on that first lap and I dropped some places as a result. Yeah I got whacked from behind which nudged you wide. Then, this time Soca pushed me wide pretty aggressively and proceeded to pass me which I was a little frustrated about as it was a push to pass move. I think he was already past me by the time you went by on the grass.

I know that sometimes at the start I can get in the mix and overtake some faster drivers, who will eventually get past me if they show a bit of patience , but that should be done cleanly in my opinion!

Apparently my Replay file is too large to be exported, so if you wish to see my perspective on the incidents let me know and I'll record them with my capture card.

I'm hoping the community features, when the appear, will allow us to mail them directly or at least dissect them to mail in parts.

I had the same problem racing on-line in GT5, when I entered the pits with the throttle on, but you're right it does flash up for a second. The game thinks you've entered 'OK' and you end up driving through. The bug I have is no blind spot on the right, works on the left though.

I had my right indicator flash like crazy, during qualifying. As if someone was door to door with me. But no one was anywhere near me.

Yea, it seems like PD took yet another shortcut and just turned off the car images and boundaries when driving but left them simultaneously on track and able to move objects on all screens. It's not game breaking, but the indicators popping up do get distracting on occasion.

OK racers. The results are ready, but first I need to go over a couple of incidents.

1st is the lap 1 incident that Jammy mentioned. From what I can make out, at turn 2, Jammy went into the turn, with Sholesy on the outside. Goodwolf came in on Jammys inside, and caught Jammy on the RH rear slightly. This sent Jammy into Sholesy, which straightened Jammy up. Goodwolf spun off to the left. SokaGT, who was behind, came through the gap created by this incident, and bumped Jammy, who was on the rebound from Sholesy. It seems that Goodwolf came off the worst from this, and again it seems a case of too many cars trying to get around a turn early in the race, when the pack is tight. This has to go down as a racing incident.

2nd, is the pass on Dowlin by Veloci. Lap 14 to start. Dowlin, Capt D and Veloci had been in a very close battle lap after lap. Veloci had managed to get ahead, leading into T1 at the start of lap 14. In my replay, the line Veloci took was wide, and Dowlin made the pass on the inside. There was no contact, although Velocis car was twitchy. May have been lag, but certainly no contact. Forward to lap 16. Veloci passed Dowlin on the inside of turn 8. The result of this pass was contact with Dowlin, which sent him off the track, and into the sand. Dowlin had track position at the time of this pass, and Veloci should have waited for Dowlin to rejoin the track. Veloci will receive a 20 second penalty for this move. This has been added to the podium and final standings results, and this does change the outcome of last nights race.

Now onto the DCs. We were very unfortunate last night, and those that were DCd will still receive some points. Based on SokaGTs track position at the time of disconnect, points were halfed, then one point less for each racer based on track position.

I really enjoyed the race, and managed to keep consistent, with only a couple of mistakes. Some good close racing with the leading pack early on was great. I enjoyed some good battles with Sholesy, who caught me after my contact with Fuelmyfire, and the final few laps were spent trying to catch Cobani. I nearly managed it, but got into a tank slapper on the last lap.

Here we go then guys, I hope you are all happy with my conclusion to last night racing. Its now time to prepare for Monza.
