Great practice session tonight. There were 6 in attendance, and we learnt that this race is going to require a red hot qualifying time. Its going to be real hard to overtake, so whoever ends up at the front of the grid will have the advantage. Tonights fastest times will be posted tomorrow.

It will be very interesting to see how this race will eventually unfold, even if you start at the front, a badly timed pitstop (thus getting back on track in traffic) can cost you seconds a lap.

There could be some suprises here, anyone remember Senna/Mansell, Coulthard/Bernoldi, Lutting/Preston ... :)

I have watched the replays of last nights practice session. We ran 4 short races and Trotter was only able to join us for the first race.

The Sunday Cup race 7 practice results.

1st...COBANI...1:39.827
2nd...JAMESYBOGRAT...1:40.162
3rd...PSN-OMNIUSALX...1:41.645
4th...ADE3210...1:42.985
5th...ROSENLUNDAREN...1:44.648
6th...TROTTERLOVER79...1:48.160

We did see Cobani get a 1:39.0xx during free run, and there was talk of getting into the 38's from Jamesy. That will be a tall order for me, so my personal aim is to get into the late 40's early 41's if I am to battle with Omnius again.

Also, if Jamesybograt sets the fastest lap in the race, he will win the most fastest laps prize, however if Cobani gets the best time they will both stand at 3 each, and it will go down to the last race. Cobrius, Third_reign or Dowlin could also cause an upset, if they have the pace on the day.

I'll need the race equivalent to viagra to last the distance, it's too easy to lose concentration and that can easily cost you a place at this pace!

So fear not ade, I'm sure we'll have that battle! ...and in the imortal words of Optimus Prime & Megatron... "One shall stand", "...and one shall Fall!"

I did a 1:39.9xx so far. Still working on getting turn 1 right, and the entire first sector for that matter. My average is 1:40.high. Will there be a session on Saturday again? i have no clue where passing spots could be, it would be nice to figure that out.

Just had an hours impromptu practice with Rosenlundaren 👍👍 cheers Rosen, and managed to knock over a second off my best time from Sunday's practice. I Managed a 41.8xx, and Rosen was over 2 seconds faster than his Sunday best with a 42.6xx.

If you find any, let us know! :)

I mentioned earlier that the track looked wide because of our tiny Elise, but during the official practice, I found that overtaking was extremely difficult and if you did, a clean pass was even more rare. :scared:
But with the respect shown between drivers in the SC, I think we will see overtaking during the race.

And a tip: Don't count on slipstreams, they are practically nonexistent on this track. Count on putting the pressure on and hoping for a mistake for a shot at overtaking.

Looking forward to tomorrows race, will there be another prize awarded for the most fastest laps, or can Cobani even things up with Jamesy? Monaco will be tricky to overtake on, and pit stops could be what decides the win in the penultimate race of The Sunday Cup. I think that the fight for the front row is going to be intense, with a good few drivers all having the pace to make it to the podium. One more short race practice tonight at 8.00pm may give us an idea of race pace tomorrow.

Curious on how the final practice session went? ... Yes I am! :)

Did Jamesy break the 39 barrier in the race?
How many drivers went sub 40?
Who is Mister Consistency?
Did the Swedes with no ABS say 'Tacksa mycket' when they dived on the inside at the end of the tunnel?

Cheers and race you tonight!

I didnt get a chance to view the replays, as some friends turned up, and I had to switch GT off, but we did get several short races in. I dont think anyone broke the 39 barrier, but I did manage to trim another 3/10's off my best time so far with a 41.5. All of the racing was very close though, and we did learn that mistakes are going to be very costly at Monaco.

I'm afraid to say I'll miss my first ever SC race tonight!

It was my birthday yesterday, and part of that takes place tonight, so I'll be out with my wife until 10-ish

Real life eh!?

Anyway, have a good race guys! I'll have to revisit Monaco some time in the CORE :sly:

(wish there were more cars in GT5 from 1974! :indiff: )

 ade! Currently standing in the queue waiting to enter screen 3 at our local Odeon :) 👍 with a full belly :ill:

These disconnections are really getting on my nerves, its the second time i got a a PSN disconnect while being in a promising position. I have no idea whats causing it either, but its been happening repeatedly this month. @*$&#&!!!:grumpy::grumpy::grumpy:

Well, what a race. We were short on the grid with only 8 starters tonight, and it got off to a messy start. Cobani took pole position, with Jamesy second and Third_reign 3rd. Cobrius lost it on lap 1 and ended up at the back, but after some close racing into the chicane after the tunnel, Jamesy was dumped into last place. 1st place position was swapped so many times, and by lap 19 it looked like Third was going to get his second win, but was disconnected in his moment of glory. Third will get points allocated like the last race.

The Sunday Cup race 7 provisional results

1st...COBANI
2nd...JAMESYBOGRAT
3rd...GOODWOLF
4th...COBRIUS
5th...DOWLIN
6th...ADE3210
DNF...THIRD_REIGN
DNF...TROTTERLOVER

The fastest lap was done by JAMESYBOGRAT, with a very impressive 1:38.992 on lap 18. Well done Jamesy, you know what that means.👍

Right, I now off to put on some rubber gloves and boil an egg, see ya.

Congratulations on getting the most fastest laps Jamesy, a prize well deserved!
I'll have a crack at an onboiled egg now ... where did she put those rubber gloves?

The penultimate race in The Sunday cup is done, and the dust has settled. It was a hard race for many even though the grid count was the lowest we have seen for the entire series. We saw Jamesy starting on the front row, only to find himself at the very back before we had completed one lap, however he somehow managed to dig deep and produce some very fast laps that ended the race with a 2nd place podium. Cobani claimed yet another top podium spot, and Goodwolf completed the podium with his highest place finish yet. Well done to you all. Third_reign suffered another very unfortunate disconnection, however he will receive half the points for his qualifying place, plus half the amount of laps he completed after the halfway point, giving him 9 points. Now to the results. I usually take a picture of the screen at the end of each race to capture the total times, but last night I forgot, so these will be left off the tables this week.

As you can see, there is only 1 point separating Cobani and Jamesy from the top spot, and with Cobrius 12 points clear of 4th place we can see who is going to be getting Sunday Cup keyrings. On the subject of prizes, Jamesy managed to get last nights fastest lap, giving him the most fastest laps for the series. Well done Jamesy...You have won an official F1 2011 LOTUS RENAULT GP identity lanyard.

As you all know, the next race is the last and I would like to thank all of you in advance for taking part. It would be great to have a full grid at Suzuka.

I might be late a few minutes on the 13th as I'm participation in a RL Tournament throughout the day. If all goes well I'll be back on due time, but there is a small history with delays and unexpected attendance numbers, which could extend the duration a bit.

Just found this video from the Lotus factory for those who is interested.

Cool video Cobrius. Things are a bit different there now. Here's a more recent look at how the Evora is made. This was filmed last year, and has got some good shots of the new cars that are coming soon.

I might be late a few minutes on the 13th

No worries, we will wait.
