Good practice last night. After several races, and with some assistance from Warren, I managed to get some form back, and managed a 1:25.5xx. Not as fast as some of the other times posted, but I am well happy with it, and managed some consistency in the races we had. Warren is still the man to beat though, consistently managing low 23's throughout the evening.

Tonight will be the last chance to get some practice laps at Daytona road, so hopefully we will see a few more drivers tonight. My lobby will be open from 8.30pm, and I will only be on for around 1 hour tonight. Struggling with man flu, which is why I havnt had a chance to go through the replays.

Good news about the parade lap! That start at daytona in tricky in any car. How awesome would it be if there were someone willing to drive the BMW pace car to start us off!

Nope not changed a thing, holding on for dear life, but wow how much fun is this car!!!!!

If someone is driving the pace car we'll need a few practice runs to find somewhere that it can pull off before we go at it, :nervous:

There's the straight between the last corner and the finish line. I reckon if the pace car goes full speed around the last bank then pulls under the yellow line on that straight as soon as possible, leader can start the race, no overtakes until you're past the start/finish. Nice and safe :)

Good call Shin. It is going to be hectic on that first lap, especially with the damage set to heavy, so some conservative driving will be required. We will need to get some laps with @dranddad before the event, so we can practice this. I will be online again from Wednesday, so if anyone is available for some parade lap practice, please come and help out. We will also require the parade lap car for all 3 races.

OK, last nights practice was awesome. It was an open lobby, and we had some extra racers, which gave us 9 on the grid for some of the short races we ran. Hopefully 1 of them will join us for this event, to keep Warren company at the front of the field.

So, after a weekend of practice at Daytona, in this crazy F1 car, there are some super times being set. I logged onto the PS tonight, and there are over 18 races to go through, to get times from. So ive decided, not to publish the times up in here for the time being. Everyone knows their own pace, and come race day, some surprises may be thrown up due to pushing too hard to get that faster lap, especially with heavy damage.

The one thing I have learned over the weekend is that this car is an awesome piece of machinery to drive. The trick is to find the grip on the track, not the grip in the tyres.

Friday will see the first practice laps at Indy road course. Saturday is GC Garys Type R sprint event, so Indy practice will resume on Sunday.

Race date news. It would seem that Sunday 21st is the more popular date for this. Please can everyone confirm attendance for this date, and I will make it the official date for the event.

Are these Lotus cars ever going to turn up to race, waiting!!

Hope that is of some help.

There is a Thread here that tells you all about it. Some of your members, old timers from WFN are joining if any others wish to join their fellow racers they are more than welcome.

Wednesday was and will always be free and easy no commitment, you have time for one race pop in say hello, free all night for good batter, you'll more than likely find some of your mates.

Would be great to get mid week fun back in GT6 as we did in GT5.

OK guys. I have been in conversation with @dranddad regarding the safety car start procedure. We think that the safest place for the race to start, is after the banked turn before the start/finish line.

"As you get to the pit lane there is a very large YELLOW Line mid way between the flat section before the start line, but close enough to turn one so as not all running at full speed and have side by side chaos.

The thick YELLOW Line maybe a good place to say full on now guys, if you wait for the start line that seems a bit close for turn one for them to sort things out."

We have not decided on a max speed we will run the parade lap at yet, this will be decided after a few practice runs at the weekend.

Tonight I will be online from 8.30pm for an hour. (stupid early get ups). I will be running a few laps at Indy road tonight, to try and establish a safe starting point for race#2.

Friday will be official practice at Indy, which will resume on Sunday, as we have GC Garys Type R sprint event on Saturday.

I ran a few laps at Indy road last night, using the same set up on the 97T as Ive been using at Daytona road. The car felt very good with my quickest lap being in the 1:17s, so I expect 1:15 to be broken into very quickly come practice on Friday.

For the rolling start here, its much easier to pick a place to start the race. After the final turn, the pace car can peel into the pit lane on the right hand side, and as we all hit the straight it will be GO, GO, GO!

Tomorrow will see the first practice session at Indy, and my lobby will be open fro 8.30pm.

Just going to watch a program with the family, hope your still on when I come on later.

Thanks for the invite Ade, think I was number two to join up. Not that I'm very quick you see, maybe the only Silver I ever get.

Great Practice tonight 👍 Cheers to Ade for hosting and special thanks to Phil for giving up his time too :)

Another intense combo with some insane tyre wear! Battle of attrition in all three races I reckon. Those 1:15's came and went quick though huh! My fastest this evening was a 1:13.3, saw a 13.1 while I was still on but chances are that was beat too.

I was meant to be going to bed but I couldnt resist taking a few snaps. Ive been playing Driveclub quite a bit and getting back into taking photos so thought I would share.

Busy weekend for me this week so I'll catch up with you guys afterward. Need a lot of practice before next sunday so I'll be on as often as I can!

Anyway, happy racing, enjoy teh Lotus! :D

It's my pleasure entirely, one can't beat great company for me the racing comes second.

Although we don't race day after day, with the level of respect shown to other is like it is day after day. I sent an invitation to Spy of WFN as he was always a big part of that, the reply I've just had back is as though (may two years) was only yesterday.

you may remember I was only speaking of him the other day in the lobbies.

Thank for the pace car image looks cool with the (97's in the back ground, just where they should be lol, Vorsprung durch Technik.

Phillip

Thank you LL (xTehLotus_RK)

I've had many many years of that type of driving for a living, your great members here will fill you in if you wish to know more.

But thanks for the compliment.

Hello ADE,

I have lurked this club thread for a considerable amount of time, but have sadly never had the time to take part in any events. However I should be free on 20th/21st and would really like the opportunity to race with you guys. I have had a large amount of experience racing with high powered cars and am generally a clean, safe pair of hands.

Have to say,I find the indy track really enjoyable in this car. They work very well together. Another thing I have seen on both of the tracks that ive ran so far, is that its quite hard to make a clean pass on another driver anywhere but on the straights. I think in this car, more so than others its a lot to do with knowing when to give up the corner to the passing driver or even when to back off as the one wanting to make a pass.

Hello, and welcome.

We would be more than happy to have another entry for this event. Practice will resume tomorrow at 8.00pm. Send a PSN friend request to ade3210. There is space on the grid, and we are all clean, fair racers. Hopefully catch you tomorrow for some laps at Indy, and to meet some of the others. Practice will continue most of next week also.

OK, last nights practice was excellent. I thoroughly agree with Warrens regarding the combo. The car feels awesome. I managed a 25.1, so was off the pace of the aliens, but thats nothing new. Massive thanks to Phil for being a great pace car driver.

Shin Roh......STUNNING pics mate. Absolutely awesome.

One more thing guys. You have probably seen the GTPlanet news page regarding the GTPlanet endurance series for 2015. I would very much like to enter a team for this. It will be up to you guys to decide who enters each event. Not sure I will be able to manage a team for every race, as there are 2 dates which clash with Sunday Cup 5 races, but I will do my best.

So no practice tonight, as we will be having fun at GC Garys Type R sprint race event. The link is below, and there is still room on the grid for any late entrys.

TYPE R CUP SPRINT RACE

Cheers guys :)

As for the endurance races Ade I'd like to nominate myself for your team!

I'm not really interested in all of them but if I could get in on Bathurst, Silverstone and Twin Ring that would be awesome. Obviously I will be flexible depending on how many folk are interested, and I'm open to scrutiny and/or performance reviews too.

For your consideration anyway. I'm sure there are a long list of Sunday Club members rightfully in line ahead of me ;)

Are there any official practice sessions in the lotus this week by the way? I'm free any evening but Friday this time round, don't want to leave indy though.. Such fun!

Thats great Shin, you will be on the list. Looking at the different classes, our Elise comes in the GT cup class, and also the TCN-1, so we will be illegible for all of those races you have listed.

I do need 2 other racers to put their names in the hat, so I can register our entry. So whoever wishes to be included, let me know, and I can start things off.

Practice will resume tonight, at 8.00pm. Firstly though, I have to do a pedal box change to my rig after catastrophe struck during last night Typre R cup sprint race event.

My brake pedal snapped during race 2, at Ascari. I managed to buy a replacement DFGT off ebay, and I have borrowed a friends wheel whilst I await delivery.

Regarding practice next week. I will try to get on as often as I can, but Monday and Tuesdays are normally very busy for me. If I can get on then, I will. So Wednesday is the first day I can be sure I will be on. Then it will be every night up until race day, which is Sunday 21st.
