Whilst Will has announced his preferences I'll do the same if it helps figure out the schedule. Before we started our endurance campaign I was most eager to race Bathurst and Silverstone. Of course I will make myself available for the others should management need me but otherwise I'd like to be considered for support races again.

I've also bought the Lexus and Gtr for the GT500 class and I'll be helping with that when I'm not practicing for a race. I will also let it be known I'm considering a reserve spot in the GT500 class. If I can't for whatever reason drive the lotus at Silverstone I wouldn't mind waving the SCAR banner for team HSV. 👍

Shin was a real gentleman in practice on Sunday by the way, a slight nudge and he slowed right down to let me take the place back. A valuable lesson in how it's done! Mind you, he passed me again pretty quickly...

That is the spirit of the series, and goes to show you the respect and race craft displayed. I did witness this in my mirror. Saw Shin drop right back to let you retake the place. Awesome.

OK guys, not long to go until race #1. Thursday will see the re start of the practice sessions for Tsukuba and will see CS time practice again, whilst on Friday and Saturday we will take in some CM runs, and pit stop runs. The pit stop runs will be very important, as Tsukuba has a very temperamental pit entry. Get it wrong, and it wont give you any tyres, just a drive through. (and im sure it wont be a McDonalds drive through)

Also, the thread on The Lotus Forums has been refreshed. They did a great job giving us support and prizes last year, so please give them a visit and sign up. TLF

Ran a little session tonight with Paul, rosen and Warren. Pretty good going and helped Damon  to hit low 1:08's. Also did a race run earlier on to see how the tyres get on, not great is the answer, altho if you can get out front here and run clean laps then a race win should be easy, this one's more about ability with the car, passing will be hard unless there's a few that drop off the circuit. Should be mega close tho! :gtpflag:

Endurance update.

As you are all aware, this weekend saw entrys from both S.C.A.R teams in the support race and Full 24 hour race at Daytona. Both teams turned in awesome performances and the provisional results have been published.

Mighty Miata race.

A tough start with 100% track saturation for Shin Roh starting 11th on the grid. Visibility was dire and you couldnt make out the edge of the track through turns 1 to 5. Conditions improved hugely for my stint and I was able to get some consistent laps in. Final position was 6th. Very happy with that considering it was both Shin's and myself s first crack at this.

Daytona 24.

Goodwolf started the race for team SCAR Honda R in 7th place on the grid. Over the course of the next 24 hours, the team completed nearly 50 pit stops, with 10 of those involving a driver change. Again the weather threw everything at the team, with all 4 drivers getting a taste of the elements. But the team pushed on through the night and several laps behind the safety car. By the halfway point the team were registered as 5th position. As the race went on, the other 2 teams in the GT500 Lexus SC430 cars were gaining ground, even beating all of the LMP2 entrys. The straight line speed of the Lexus being its huge advantage over the Honda. At the chequered flag, SCAR Honda R finished in 6th place, completing 773 laps over the 24 hours of racing. However, a technical breach by Team Escuderia in the Lexus, who finished the race in 1st position meant that their race result became unclassified. A late pit entry to take on fuel meant that they crossed the line at 23:59.52.7xx in the pit lane. When the chequered flag waved, they were still in the pit lane. This promoted Team SCAR to 5th position and second in class. Awesome racing from the entire team.

Please note that the above tables are provisional and are subject to change.

Full detailed analysis for the entire weekends events are available here.

Please excuse me, I'm obviously being dense here, but... If the car that finished first in your Miata 2 hour enduro completed 54 laps in 2 hours 0 minutes and 5 seconds, I can't figure out how the 3rd place car can have had a total time of 2 hours 0 minutes and 4 seconds (less racing time than the winning car) but been a lap down - surely if they're a lap down they're behind the leading car on track, so when they cross the line to complete their last lap after the 2 hours has elapsed, their total time has to be more than that of the leader? I'd love to know where I'm going wrong in my maths, because it has me perplexed!

Is it that in endurance racing, the clock stops for each car the first time they cross the line after 2 hours have elapsed? That'd make sense of it I guess, but I thought it was like an F1 time limited race (bad weather or lots of safety cars so they can't complete the race distance in under 2 hours) when it's the leader crossing the line the first time over 2 hours that dictates when everyone else finishes...

PS I'm not going to make it for practice tonight either I don't think. Sorry - because I need it more than most.

As the chequered flag was waved at 2 hours, the time is worked out when the first place crosses the line on their current lap. The Miata in 3rd place being a lap behind, crossed the S/F line after the flag on lap 53 at 2 hour 4 seconds. The winner crossed the line on Lap 54 at 2 hours 5 seconds. They almost crossed the line together, but the winner was a lap up.

Okay - so the flag goes out at 2 hours, not when the leader crosses the line for the first time after 2 hours - so the race is potentially over for several cars before it's over for the leading car, depending on where they are on track at the 2 hour point. Now I think I understand!

Yep, 2 hours chequered flag. Race to the line on the lap you are on. Finish. Parc ferme, photos, girls, champagne, party.

Having now read both the FIA WEC regulations, and the GT Planet Sporting Regulations, I can see that while the latter is closely based on the former, the crucial difference, and the cause of my confusion, is that while the FIA specify that the race ends when the car leading the general classification passes the start/finish line for the first time after the allotted time has elapsed, the GTP regs state that the flag is shown when the allotted time is up, and the race ends for any car when it passes the flag on track.

My bad for not realising that there was this difference. Incidentally, as Ade mentioned above, I feel for Team Escuderia who were in the pits doing a splash and dash when the flag came out and because the pit exit closes when the flag is shown, they did not pass the flag on track, so they were disqualified. And after over 800 laps too! Under FIA regs, it couldn't have happened. Still, it promoted SCAR a place, so every cloud as they say...

Hi guys. Been very time poor this week, I'll make an appearance tonight but will have to be gone again for around 9:30. Might get on tomorrow roo but I'll definitely be free over the weekend. See you out there 👍

Great fun practice session tonight. 10 racers turned in times throughout the evening. Great banter as usual and some new PBs were set including a new purple time. I will post the times up tomorrow afternoon. Practice resumes tomorrow at 8.00pm. We will start the evening on the CS tyre, but move on to the CM for some laps, as well as running a couple of 12 lap pit stop races.

OK chaps. Just been through the replays. The top 3 get another shuffle, with Will and Shin both cracking into the 07.2s. Lots of other new PBs set aswell. Getting into the 06s must be the holy grail of this combo, but Im not sure if this is possible as Im sure those at the top must be rinsing almost 100% out of the car now. 2 more practice sessions to go. Tonight we will continue on the CS tyre, but later in the evening we will run some races on the CM and some 12 lap pit stop/tyre change races. Lobby will be open from 8.00pm.

Please note, that tonights practice will be in a public lobby. I want to try to see if we can get around the visibility issues. The room quality will also be set to 4 stars. I found this today and think its worth a try. If we get any free loaders, I will show them the door.

I'm feeling woefully underprepared for Tsukuba having missed last night's practice as well as two evenings in the week - I've done barely half the mileage I'd done by this point leading up to the pre-season race. I'll get some track time in this afternoon ahead of final practice tonight, and just hope my mojo comes back so I can get into the 1.07's again. Please accept my apologies for having been absent (family issues) and whether or not I make the cut for the race, I'm serious about wanting to do my best in the series - it's such a great experience.

I'm also lacking of track time but I show up on Sunday. I concentrating on the mental part so I don't get wobbly under pressure. The mental training is taking place out on the countryside, at our hideout. Me and one of the boys took the family truck last night, had to dig our way in. Well, Malte is 2 ys in May so he kind of monitored the work. Today we fire up the sauna and have spare ribs for dinner. See you tomorrow!

No changes in the top 4 after last nights practice. Some good close racing again in a marathon 3 and a half hour session. We also ran some races on the CM tyre, which proved to be surprisingly good. Then onto some 12 lap races with a pit stop, which didnt throw up any pit stop horrors, other than Megg not having the right tyres available. This was due to him being on the track when the lobby was changed.

The fastest CM tyre time was 1:09.123.

Final practice will be tonight from 8.30pm and will follow the same format as last night.

Note. The public lobby settings we tried last night didnt seem to prove anything out. Weescotman still seemed to have some visibility issues, although they didnt seem as bad as usual. We will try again tonight. If the room is busy enough and the drivers who are usually affected by the visibility issues are present, we will try changing to a "fixed host" lobby to see if there is an improvement.

It seems to be alright for me when I join last, just a royal pain in the balls when I have to leave and join everytime someone new comes in, who did the time on the cm tyres?

That's not fair! I'll be heading on when I get back from the shop, so if anyone is about feel free to join, see if I can get the lotus going faster around bathhurst.

I remember doing an 08.9xx on cm last night, was on second stint so fastest time on the replay screen should be from the faster tire. I'll give it a go again tonight before the big one tomorrow.

Awesome final practice tonight. Again, some new records set and a new purple time. Not sure who it is yet, but both Will and Soka cracked into the 07.1s, so another mix up in the top 3 will happen. I will check through the replays tomorrow and post the final practice times.

Sunday Cup five starts tomorrow gents. Massive thanks to you all for your continued support. Cant really believe a club I started 3 years ago is still going strong and has created a great community of racers. Heres a bit of nostalgia from exactly 3 years ago. Race #1

See you all on the grid tomorrow.

Last couple of nites have been very enjoyable for me. Not so nervous now and the leg has stopped shaking. Fantastic racing and the times are so close. Don't know why i did'nt join ages ago.

On the visibility issues, i have problems if i leave my pc turned on. Even if there is nothing open on the pc, once it is switched on, creating or joining can be very slow and half the time i get disconnected. I've 100mb fibre optic internet, port forwarded, ps3 hard wired, etc etc and cannot leave the pc on if i am playing gt6. The crappy router is at fault, i think.

Last nights final practice see's a slight shuffle at the top again, but not by much. Both Weescotman and Soka getting into the 07.1s. Some great close racing again.

Also, please read the important notices at the bottom of this post.

Not long to go now until the season opener gets under way. Hopefully we will see some super close action tonight as we have seen in practice. Qualifying will be a key factor at Tsukuba, but so will strategy too. We did see cars run out of fuel 2 weeks ago at GVE and that could happen again tonight if strategy isnt thought through. This race will be slightly longer so I think that starting on the medium tyre will require a 2 stopper.

Its going to be a busy grid aswell, so the early stages are going to be very hectic in the mid field. It did get a little bumpy last night, especially through the chicane under the bridge. If you find yourself in a tight group through there tonight, just try to be patient. A bit of rubbing is to be expected, but trying to get 3 or 4 cars through a gap that isnt there will result in carnage.

LOBBY RULES.png

ENSURE THAT UPNP IS ON (ROUTER) AND IS AVAILABLE (PS3 NETWORK SETTINGS)

Important notices.

Lobby settings.

Please try to arrive as early as possible tonight so we can rectify any visibilty/connection issues before qualifying. The lobby will be set at a 4 star rating and will be a private lobby. It will not be in the club lobby, but a normal online one.

Reserve drivers.

Tonight's race is expected to be a full grid. We do have a reserve driver on stand by if there is a place. He fully accepts that he is a reserve driver and will be asked to join the lobby should there be a empty spot on the grid for him. He has put in a lot of practice and would like the chance to race with us. If there is a space available at 8.45pm, he will be messaged to join, so he can also qualify.

This will also apply for future races, so please ensure drivers arrive in the lobby before 8.45pm unless prior arrangements have been made.

Facebook chat box.

I have created a facebook chat box with everyone who is on my friends list. The sole purpose of this is to direct you to this thread in case there is any pre race posts I think you need to be aware of. It will only be used as a means of notifying you. Please do not reply to messages sent in this chat box. Dont even put a thumbs up as it will scroll the important message up.

Thank you.
