I shouldn't give you advice because I can't even take heed of my own at the moment (think I'm picking up bad habits lately).
Not that I'm ever gonna get close to the front, but I'm not at mid pack pace presently either, which is usually where I'm at.
I've tuned some cars over the last few months from Ridox's Replica garage and their very nature forces you to drive much more like you would a real car (or similar IRL lap times at least). In GT this makes you slow and I'm struggling to get out of that habit lately.
The other lads may disagree with me about this.
You've got to explore the limits of the game. I'm not saying the physics aren't good but......
Put it this way. Watch some onboard videos of real racing on YouTube, then (especially when GT Academy comes back round) watch the top ten guys replays of TTs etc. The word exploit comes to mind, which I can't seem to do as well as others.
If you've got time, open a room on your own to explore lines and braking points, use track side objects etc to help, brake earlier/later at that chosen object etc.
The Elise is an MR, as Will would tell you, importantly, it's about controlling weight transfer, along with using a bit of gas to settle the car. I expect you know this Andy, it's just implementing it impeccably every lap.
As well as not being able to put the time in my main obstacle is nerves. On my own online with the same room settings, I've been running 55.3xx-55.5xx. Last night, even with clear track because I muck up I can barely break into the 55s.
Keep going mate. As Bo said last night, every race there's something new to learn, but I also need some nicotine at some point.
