Finally managed to practice for Bathurst. Did about 5 hours in time trial mode first (yesterday), in order to have the ghost car handy for set up purposes. Now, I've just finished a 3 hour stint online with fuel/tire off. Lap times with 275 bhp turned out very quick. I'm not telling anything, but I'm preparing myself for the chance that we don't get the power increase. It's not official yet is it?

Would be interesting to hear your times and setup findings for the benefit of the team, though we're all posting stuff like that in the private team comms thread as not to give anything away.

By the way is time trial mode similar to online physics when set to no tyre/fuel wear?

Posted here because private team comms are not available for some reason.

I didn't keep lap time records in time trial as I think it is always faster.

I'm now setting to 270 bhp. I will post my lap times on messenger along with set up pics later today.

@SuperGrover As has been said Andy, you did an excellent job in allowing lapping cars to pass safely.👍

Super job, grover. I remember catching you at a very awkward spot and you almost parked to let me past. Many thanks for that.

Made a bit of a bags of quali and in my desperation to get on capt d's tail i got all out off shape in T1 and clipped sholsey. Didn't feel anything at the time but when i watched the replay i could see the (wayward) tail of my car flicked you wide. Apologies, and then you were DC'd. I could feel your (double) frustration. Change of shirt, maybe?

I spent the whole race chasing capt d and the only time i got close to him was when the tyres were well worn.

Fantastic racing.

Double entendre, ade? There's an erotic novel in the last 50 posts.

So, we got our +5 bhp upgrade. Tonight sees the first round of qualis, with Goodwolf taking to the track at 9.00pm, before Shin Roh and Soka set their pace from 9.30.

My lobby will be open from 8.30, hopefully a bit earlier, to offer support and the chance to get a final few practice runs in.

Good luck guys.

Lets do this.

Update.

SCAR Lotus team took P1 in class after Q1. Q2 results show that the team have held P1. Will and Warren took to the track in Q3. Results should be published soon.

Tonight is the 2 hour Support race and Goodwolf and Giorgio will be racing. Goodwolf will start the race, but is limited to 40 minutes race time due to his Silver classification. Giorgio will then take the seat for the remainder of the race.

The race starts tonight at 10.00pm. I will be in my lobby from 8.30pm and then for the duration of the race.

Also tonight is GCs 500pp event. So if anyone wants to drop in my lobby afterwards, please feel free.

Fantastic racing from the Bathurst support race, saw team SCAR start on pole position and go on to take the win. Awesome job Goodwolf and Giorgio. Congratulations.

OK, tonight sees the first practice session for Sunday Cup race #3 at Redbull ring. Lobby will be open from 8.00pm. I know that a few racers will be absent this evening due to the 500pp club VS Ready or not racing event.

Is the broadcast available? Where are the points of interest time wise? Would like to take a look :)

The broadcast is below. I cant think of any specific times, as the entire race was riveting. The highlight was probably the restart behind the safety car at the end, which saw Giorgio in 2nd place at the time, but about 4th in the order behind the SC. With only minutes of the race left, he made his charge to take the win, just like the GTR did in the real Bathurst a few weeks ago. Awesome stuff.

Good little practice in the new spec car at Redbull ring tonight. This circuit is tricky in the Elise, with a combination of slow and fast corners. Tonights times will be posted tomorrow.

As you all know, next weekend is the Bathurst 12 hour race. SCAR have qualified, and will start in P12. We dont need to practice against the other cars, but we do still need track time. The next Sunday Cup practice I will hold will be next Sunday, however if any of you wish to run some sessions, I will accept lap times providing live timing sheets with lap times are submitted. So if anyone wants to step up and offer to host practice sessions next Friday and Saturday please do so.

There was a shock in the final Q session for Bathurst. After QP3, SCAR were 2nd in class, but only by a few 1/100ths of a second. It was looking like a dead cert that we would start in that position, but the other Lotus team managed to find some awesome speed in the final Q session, knocking out DART Racing in the NSX.

I'll show my hand early and say I managed a 1.55.3xx in practice - sadly I didn't get to the official session. It'd be interesting to see where that would've placed me in the timesheets. I started out in the 1.57s but after about 50 laps and using 3rd in T1 instead of 2nd, and 4th in the last corner instead of 3rd I got reliably into the 55's. The best thing was I hardly ever came off the black stuff, apart from the odd excursion wide at the Remus curve and the final corner whilst pushing.

I do think I'd better host a room during the week.

Hey guys. I'm going to be doing some practice this afternoon at Bathurst, I'll be on there most the afternoon from between 3.30 and 4 so if you'd like to hang out, watch me race or bring a car to the track you're welcome. There will be no limit, just come race what you feel like or check out the Specs for our Sunday Cup Lotus entry into the enduros. It's a fun little car and a fairly challenging Circuit, hope to see you there :)

OK racers. First practice at Redbull ring was a great taster of whats to come. Our upgraded Elise feels great here with some great high speed sectors as well as some slower corners. There are the 2 right hand turns which require a good turn in and correct braking to get right, or you will loose a lot of speed. Shin Roh takes the purple time after the first round of practice, but I feel that these times will tumble further once a good feel for the combo comes.

I can step up to this role if you'd like. I have some practice at the procedure and I think I can be trusted :sly:

GC Gary has very kindly offered to step up and host some practice sessions this coming weekend, whilst the SCAR team prepare to take on Mount Panorama for 12 hours on Saturday evening. We will also be preparing for this race on Friday as well as during the week. So, this gives a lot of you the chance to get extra practice on some of the guys who are at the top of the championship standing, and maybe have the upper hand come race day on the 15th March.

Thanks for offering to host these sessions Gary. 👍👍

Bathurst 12 weekend is here. Weescotman, Theewar, Shin Roh and Soka will be taking on the mountain tomorrow from 7.00pm. There will be a final practice session tonight from 8.00pm.

Sunday Cup practice.

Because of the endurance event, I will not be hosting Sunday Cup practice until Sunday night. However, GC Gary will be hosting Sunday Cup practice on Saturday evening for me. This will be an official session, so times will count.

Good luck to all at Mt. Panorama. I've had a terrible week with real life and haven't been near the game so hopefully I can get some practice in at the weekend, thanks in advance to Gary for hosting.

As Ade is heading up the S.C.A.R entry in B12, he has charged me with the helm of the Sunday Cup ship.

Tonight's practice will open at 20:30.

Good luck S.C.A.R Lotus

Last night's practice was a relaxed affair, a couple of new times posted and an improvement of nearly half a second.

A brief breakdown of the evening, goes as so.
Gary made a few impressive passes on Gary. Gary managed to brake later than Gary on the back straight, even without ABS. Gary was very helpful letting us know his gear choices for a couple of troublesome corners, which help timrs tumble yet further. And it was agreed by all the Garys in attendance, that henceforth this should be The Gary Cup

Lol, I'm down with that ;)

Just wanted to pop in this morning and say a very big thank you to all the Sunday Cuppers who supported us in the endurance race. Means a lot to have such dedicated followers.

Special mention has to go out to Paul who made a massive effort to stay awake for thr whole event.. Well done mate and thank you. Same goes to Ade our team manager for doing the same and keeping a cool head throughout.

And of course last but not least my fellow racers. William, Warren, Soka, incredible job guys. A convincing result, may it be the first of many 👍

There's another mountain coming up shin that I want to conquer online with the endurance racers. If we keep doing what we did last night we're sure to get more victories.

Not convinced about this "Gary cup" idea, lol

And as shin says, thankyou to the Sunday cuppers that turned up and helped, we couldn't have done this without your help.

It was great to watch, apart from when all they showed was that bloody Gray Audi, so I played a bit on COD and kept my eye on the race. :) I :bowdown:to the skills of our team, just wish I was good enough to take part. Well done to you all and to Ade and GC who helped (if I'm not mistaken).

Fantastic nights racing in the Bathurst 12 hour event. Massive thanks to everyone for their hard work and support. My full race report is in the Private team comms thread, so if you arent on the list for that, and wish to be, just ask and I will add you to the convo.

Huge thanks to GC for hosting SC practice. I too am not so sure about calling it the Gary Cup though, haha.

Official practice resumes tonight. Im hoping to get the lobby open for around 8.00pm, but it may be nearer to 8.30.

It turned out to be an amazing race last night, thanks to all that got involved in this. We deserved it after all the bad luck we had early on in the race. When Warren said he had DCed and was 5 - 6 min out of the lobby, I thought, ok, no chance of first place... turned out after 9 hours we were up by 1 min 15 sec.

We actually raced for position for 3 laps. I wasn't aware at the time, was doing my last stint in my under powered elise, barely managing to get into the 12's. Half way into the stint, mcpower_92 with his Renault, came out of the pits as I was crossing the start/finish line. Took me a couple of laps to catch him and was actually relieved that it wasn't one of their faster drivers. Bad news was my elise had no top speed left in her, my long gearbox not helping at all. Made a risky move to overtake just before The Esses, only to lose position again easily at Conrod Straight. Faster cars lapping us was no help either, the Lotus needed the momentum and this constant situation where you had to lift from the throttle for cars to lap you, was a pain in the cohones. He finally run wide at Quarry, which gave me the opportunity to overtake just before we started to climb. He never saw me again.

It was the first and last time I raced a Renault during the race. Of course Shin went on to pass them again 5 times, just wanted to share this little battle.

We run a very good strategy through out the race, thanks to Ade and GC Gary who were constantly trying to find ways to compensate for the DC we had experienced. And our driver line up was THE BEST! Amazing job guys, we pulled it off!
