Cheers Paul, this took my interest so looked over some other vids, this one for DFGT.

Note: this product is Made in China.

Hey y'all. Another apology post from me regarding my absence. Had a lot going on these past weeks in the real world. Not really had the time for GT. Although I will admit that any spare time I've had I've spent on the PS4 if I'm completely honest. I seem to go through phases and it would look like I've come out of my GT one it's sad to say. I will of course as I've said before honour my commients but I dare say I won't be around as much. Maybe when the next enduro comes around and we're having to put in leg work will see my enthusiasm rekindled. I hope so. I haven't turned a wheel at Motegi, would probably help if I did.

I know we've spoken about PCars briefly but I feel like that will be the nail in the coffin for GT for me. When the enduro season is done and Sunday Cup is far behind us i don't think you'll see me in the halls of GT6 very often. I sincerely hope most of you can make the transition to PS4 sooner rather than later. And with that in mind I hope GT7 can live up to the likes of PCars and push the boundaries even further. Will be great to carry on racing with this community on the next generation :)

Just wanted to let you all know where my head is at anyway. I'll see you all on race day and hopefully a practice session here and there too, and I'll be there supporting the SCAR cause leading up to and racing in the enduros too. Few and far between besides though I'm afraid. 👍

Last nights session saw 9 racers turning in times on SH tyres. Some superb new PBS were set with a good few well into the 38s. Tonight will see some more 6 lap SH runs and also some 8 lap races with pit stop/tyre change. Lobby will be open from 8.00pm. I have also had my pedals apart today, so Im hoping my flashing brake light issue has gone.

GEARBOX ISSUE CONTINUED.

OK. If the gearbox default/non default issue wasnt confusing enough, its just got a bit more confusing. Megg has discovered that if the car is fully tuned, and then detuned back to where it should be, the gear ratios change yet again. This issue has had me perplexed for a good few days not really knowing what to do. Thats why I eventually decided to let racers choose for themselves which setting to use, as I have no way of policing this as the gearing is very close.

However this discovery by Megg will not be allowed. Its one thing to have 2 different ratio gearboxes caused by the tuning parts being fitted in a particular order, ie 6 speed box and then sports exhaust has given us the option of 2 different boxes. Its a totally different kettle of fish to fully tune the car with parts that are not permitted and then remove them to alter the ratios.

If anyone has fitted any non specified parts to their cars and removed them, please reset the gearbox to default.

My suggestion would be to return the car to race 1 and 2 spec, with just the 6 speed gearbox and then reset the box to default. Then add the sports exhaust. You then have the option of running the box as it is, or you can reset to default. These are the only 2 choices allowed.

I must confess @Captain Roh that our lad was coming to stay for the coming week, bringing his ps4 with him, and I was gutted to find that PCars was delayed yet again, because I'd been looking forward to giving it a whirl. Never mind! I don't have a ps4 myself, nor am I likely to - so when circumstances permit, it'll be back to GT6...

A most enjoyable practice session tonight! I'm looking forward to that lap time leader board being updated.... What, is that a jammy_rex at the top?! :D I'll enjoy it while it lasts!

I can see an improvement though in general, since I've been getting a few more practice sessions under my belt, which is heartening :)

Still can't believe that pitstop sequence in the last race.... I came in 2nd, Cpt D a little way behind but Meg hits him in the rear and then under autopilot Cpt D overtakes me in the pitlane and goes from 3rd to 1st by pitlane exit!!! :P

Had to do a double take when i saw Cpt's car overtake you in pitlane.. I thought he was going to push your car into the barrier, and that's on autopilot, and then he comes out in front of tiggles.

Awesome laptime, jammy.

Great fun. The little lotus is addictive to drive.

Cracking practice session last night. The leaderboard has had a right mix up at the top with Jammyrex setting the pace with a 1:38.022. Tonight will be the last chance to make improvements before tomorrows race. Again we will run some 6 lap SH races followed by some 8 lap pit stop runs. Lobby will be open from 8.30pm.

Same cause, to keep a certain preset top speed setting of the transmission, the ratios are adjusted to match the the engine speeds. ECU adds 200rpm, each exhaust and engine upgrade is an additional 100rpm (+300 for racing exhaust/engine 3), I think one of the exhaust manifold or intake mods also gives +100rpm. The individual gears are also adjusted accordingly. Higher RPM allows shorter gearing for same end speeds of the car. Doing a full tune, adding the transmission, and then removing disallowed parts would cut some of the top speed, but make you faster at accelerating out of turns, quite the significant advantage. The safest method is just to allow the fully customizable transmission, although I see the point in how it does not reflect the real life specs that we are using. On the other hand, now that this "exploit" is public, It might be easiest to just allow it.

Just to clarify, I've know of this method from the beginning, but have not abused it. I'm a firm believer of honesty and only install parts as intended by the spec sheet. So my car is transmission first, rpm parts second.

EDIT: What I actually wanted to say was that the GT300 Evora had its premiere in the SuperGT series today. It managed a 16th place finish, running with a crooked rear wing for most of the race. Quite the respectable result for a new machine.

Awesome final practice last night saw some more times bested, but not at the top of the table. From the practice sessions, this looks like its shaping up to be another belter of a race.

Same here. My car is running with the gearbox un defaulted. Just as a recap, the car should only have 6 speed gearbox and sports exhaust. No other performance related parts should be installed.

Ok, on to tonights race. Please remember that UK clocks changed last week from GMT to BST. The timetable is below. Weescotman has said he may miss quali as he will be on his way home. If it is necessary we will delay quali for 10 minutes max to give him a chance to get online.

So can we assume that the fastest times were set using this exploit?

If we want to go full paranoid, we can assume they also use racing clutch, drive shaft and possibly adjustable LSD. No way to check if the LSD is installed, quicker shifting from the clutch is also difficult to notice on spectate.

If we want to go full paranoid, we can assume they also use racing clutch, drive shaft and possibly adjustable LSD. No way to check if the LSD is installed, quicker shifting from the clutch is also difficult to notice on spectate.

Whilst researching this, I ran some laps in a test car to see how this exploit could be used to someones advantage. During these test runs, and also confirmed by Megg we can see that the car does accelerate quicker out of corners. It was also noted that there are 2 places at Motegi where 6th gear is required. The S/F straight and the straight after turn 5. If 6th gear isnt used on these straights, the car hits the limiter in 5th quite quickly.

Using the un defaulted gearbox, and even the defaulted version, I very rarely get into 6th. Maybe sometimes right towards the end of the S/F straight depending on how good a turn I get at the final corner.

I have looked through the replays and I am quite satisfied that this exploit isnt being used by anyone so far in practice.

Regarding the use of non specced parts. Sunday Cup has always been based on trust and honesty. We race clean and within the rules, so I would sincerely hope that no one would use illegal parts to gain an advantage over others. There are parts that are going to be impossible to spot if they are installed, and we have no way of checking. We just have to hope that everyone is going to be a good sport and stick to the rules.

Awesome race from start to finish. Another finish which was decided within a second and won on the last lap. Also a totally different podium from previous races. Full race report, results and standings as well as brand new specs for the next 2 races will be published tomorrow. Now is the time for champagne for the top 3. Well done guys.

Well.... What a frenetic, compelling, hard fought, amazing race! 👍

I went through many emotions during the race; butterflies and nerves having got the pole, intense stress & pressure for over half the race through such hard, close fighting... a touch of relief when Will span off, a sense of annoyance at my over-long pitstop, slight anxiousness when I could see the SH brigade making their way through in the last 5 laps, then sheer & utter disappointment at losing the lead, having battled for it for so long. To have it taken away a few corners from home, was utterly gutting!!! I'd driven a great race, made no errors and I felt my reward might be another win to add to my first win at Monza last season!

OK... So, I may have surprised a few people with my pace in the practice sessions, but my form started coming on stronger at the last race at the Red Bull ring. I felt confident I could convert this good pace into a solid grid position, so I thought I'd go for a bit of glory for a change and go for the pole. I've hit trouble in the past mid pack so thought I'd try a different strategy.

Result! I did end up getting pole position, but with soka and weescotsman just behind, I knew I wasn't going to be having an easy time of it.... And so it proved!

The first 23 laps (over half the race), was the most intense, close racing that I've ever been part of! Weescotsman and I were evenly matched on pace, but with the "robust" style of attack in evidence early doors, I was not used to racing with elbows out to begin with. I got into the groove and didn't allow myself to be too intimidated, and I lost count of the times we switched positions in those 23 laps. :D

But, with it being so close at the front, it was hard to get into a groove, and undoubtedly we ended up slowing each other down as a result of our continued battle! If I'd have only been able to get a slight gap it would have been easier to settle, but so much driving was defensive, or trying to find a way past, that laptimes suffered.

Anyway, after 23 laps of going hammer and tong with Weescotsman, he eventually made a mistake whilst behind me and this gave me the breathing space that I craved!

There was a gap between myself and Goodwolf in 2nd, and I built this up to about 6.5 seconds at the time of the pitstop. But, frustratingly, when we emerged from the pits, Goodwolf was visibly closer. Upon closer inspection of the pit sequence on the replay, I could see that mine took 2 seconds longer than that of Goodwolf's, despite us putting in similar fuel amounts. I was a bit confused by this, but the pitstops are sometimes a lottery. This 2 seconds may have been the difference between winning and losing the race though! :guilty:

So, with losing these 2 seconds, the gap was down to about 4 to 4.5 seconds and remained consistent. I think I got it up to 5 seconds, but, I could see Theewar and Cpt D making ground on their alternative tyre strategy. Each lap they closed the 2.5 to 3 seconds as per the difference in tyre compound.

But I was astonished at the apparent ease that they were slicing through the field, like knives through butter!!! :nervous:

I was hoping Goodwolf might be be able to hold them up for a little longer, but no, Theewar was through and 2 laps to hunt me down. I knew he was going to catch me on the last lap, but it was a question of where?!

Once he caught me about a third of the way round on the last lap, I managed to keep him behind for a few corners.... Then, we came to the higher speed "S" bend, and I took the inside line, but I was being overly kind, and braked too early as I was worried I'd knock Warren off into the gravel.... I just wanted to keep it clean. He swept around on the outside and just kept it on the tarmac. I kept him honest for the remaining few corners and finished on his tail.

Well done everyone for some fantastic racing. Congrats to Theewar on the win and Goodwolf for his handy podium. If nothing else, I've got a pole position and fastest lap added to my C.V., so there are positives to be taken away, together with a solid 2nd place.

It's also nice to see, that when I do get the opportunity to put some practice in, that I can mix it at the sharp end!

Looking forward to Monza!

Race was quite fun, I was battling it out with megg throughout the entire race. Sadly by brake pedal started acting up in the last ~8 laps as I lost brake sensitivity, turning it into an on-off switch in some cases. After checking the potentiometers, one of the feelers looked quite frayed. That would explain why my brake would keep brake pressure when i tried slowly easing off the pedal and then instantly going to 0 brake when eased off enough. The result was my back end coming round quite a bit. Trailbraking was quite the gamble for me in those laps.

good to be back racing with one of the top tear series in GT6 . My race strategist dropped the ball this week but at least I had some pace at times. Congrats to the podium finishers and Theewar for the win. If the grid is not full see you all in two weeks where the team will be more together.

Race 4 results and race report.

What an awesome evening of racing. I started on the SH tyre and managed 5th on the grid. I was trying to be super cautious going onto T1, remembering the incident here on the first lap of SC3 in the Evoras. Everyone got round without incident, but it had cost me a few places and I slotted in behind Warren on the CS tyre for a few laps. I could see on the mini map that Will and Jammy were creating a gap to the rest and I knew I had to get past Warren as early as possible. I managed it after 2 laps and set my sights on Goodwolf, Sholesy and Soka who were battling together ahead. After a few more laps I managed to catch up but by this point Soka had pulled away, so it was just Goodwolf and Sholesy to try and get past. A cracking battle with Sholesy followed and I managed to make the pass by outbraking him into T1, but he re took the position. This continued for several more laps until I did make the pass and stay ahead. With Goodwolf and Soka just up the road ahead I pushed on. Soka made a small mistake, which allowed Goodwolf to make his move.

I took a gamble and stayed out for 1 more lap after the first pit stops, which put me in first place. After 28 laps and almost all of my fuel I pitted and came out just behind Soka. The last quarter of the race were very intense. Trying to stay with Soka and having the faster cars approaching from behind. I dropped back slightly, but by the final lap I had managed to make ground on Soka, but couldnt quite make it past him. As we came through the esses, we went past Capt D who had run out of fuel on his last lap.

Great racing everyone.

Results.

STANDINGS#4.PNG

So at the halfway point of the season Weescotman leads Soka by 1 point in the championship, with current champion Capt D 4 points behind Soka. Its looking like this will go down to the wire, especially with double points on offer for the last race.

IMPORTANT

Upgrade details.

Firstly though. The gearbox debacle done my head in a bit and with new upgrades this could happen again. I could fix this by allowing all the fully customizable options from here on in, but I really want to save them for the last 2 races, as these parts are race car specific.

So I have decided to lock the gearbox so that there is no option of running different ratios.

Before adding any of the upgrades please remove the sports exhaust and then reset your gearboxes to default. This will take the gearing back to where it should be if you have defaulted the box already.

The Elise S club racer has a 2.0 litre supercharged engine. We cant fit superchargers, so this will be compenstated with the mid range RPM turbo. There are also some additional parts which were not listed previously. Once all the parts have been fitted please reduce power using the power limiter to 98.5%.

The rear wing that needs to be fitted is special wing type A. The wing is only added as a cosmetic item at the moment, so please reduce the aero down to 5. Full aero package will become available for the final 2 races.

You will also notice that the racing brake kit is not included yet although it was going to be implemented in this package. This is because the s club racer uses the same brake kit as the club racer and standard Elise. Racing brakes will become available for the last 2 races.

That looks like me spinning wildly at the first corner, in my first SC season (certainly one of the first races)! I seem to recall getting a wheel on the grass or something... Scary!

Congrats to Theewar and Jammy!

Thank you Ade for fantastic event once again. Thank you Canary for being patient when I lapped you on the slower tyer as I was able to push without interference.

As the last race showed me that you can get into lot of trouble at the back and without Cobani on the grid, there was space at the front, so I started on the sports.

Without any trouble at T1 I continued to follow Jammy and Weescotman, who were at it from the go. I tried to be as close as possible to get them thinking even harder. I wasn't planing to get involved and ruin my race by trying something stupid.

When Jammy made a mistake at T5 I tried to get him on the outside, take the racing line and outrun him on the exit under the tunnel, but he wasn't aware of my position and trying to get back in a fight with Weescotman he tapped me and I ended up in the sand, behind Soka and Sholesy. Soka in third was my goal now.
Sholesy was being very calm and our battle lasted for two laps. He wasn't defending too hard but went with his business very well so I didn't have space to outbreak or make a better exit until the last turn on the track. Once in front I made sure to get away from Sholesy and Ade, who was challenging him for position.

During the weekend I never finished a session where I didn't have difficulty in braking zones and locking up my tyres. But as the last race I conditioned myself perfectly so to no surprise I was doing my best times during the race with ease. The car was great and I was very consistent.

That allowed me to close the gap to Soka and to put him under pressure. He was pushing to hard to get away and the closer I got, more mistakes he made. I was preparing for a big battle but Soka went wide into one of the gravel traps.

When I changed to comforts I was looking where CPT_D and Theewar were. I was hoping that they will continue to fight until lap 35 with a gap of over 12 seconds, that would give me a podium finish, maybe a second place, but Theewar was fantastic and passed Cpt_D on lap 32 with a gap of 15 seconds. Six laps later I tried to get in the way but on this track there was no defense on slower tyres with such a difference in grip.
Cpt_D wasn't able to close as quickly or he already started to save his fuel so I was good and finally made it to the podium this year. WooHoo!!!
