The Things That Annoy You

My last GT game was GT5 10 years ago D:

Yeh, the track limits seem arbitrarily random at times

Honestly I think the cockpit view options are pretty good for trying to simulate life FOV

So just like life :P
The available camera options are ok for people ho use them...
My complain its about the options that arent present.
If you play Dirt 2.0 or ACC you will know what im talking about, thats only 2 examples but every modern racing game have more options and better..

Im not asking to much, the option to remove the wheel from cockpit view and a decent bonnet camera view.
When we drive we look at the road not the wheel..., in RL its like the wheel its not even there, in game we are looking at a screen and the wheel moving arround its very distrating, its a good view for content creators cause it looks nice but not very realistic.

That I can't make this because of the lack of body kits options... And cannot use special paints on decals, and cannot paint individual wheels (or at least front an back separately); and I'm now going to go get some cheese for my whine..

The thing that's really annoying me at the moment is the host of a lobby not being able to start a race for whatever reason so we all have too red x then green tick in the hope that it allows the race to start, or the host has to somehow work out who is causing the issue and then kick them.

While I'm here another 2 things that annoy me are (and these have probably been mentioned before).

1. Before you try and enter a lobby why can't the game tell you if the race has started, and if it has which lap they are on ? Am i imagining things or did GT Sport have this ?......

2. The ability to change car from the options when doing TT for a daily race. You can do it in a lobby, so why not in TT ? But no you have to exit and go through the whole entering process again, which makes even less sense if the option to just rent a car is there (as without it your livery, oil would be different)

One thing that has annoyed me a bit is pit lane times. Does it really take that long to go down the pit lane at Le Mans? Almost 35 seconds until the car is in the "box" and is getting tires/fuel.

For me, that's one aspect that they haven't gotten right. Pit lane times need to be adjusted.
This. 100x this. Even in Single Payer campaign races the pit lane times take too long. I noticed this awhile ago when I was doing that touring car race at Suzuka.

It's really long because you're teleported straight to the pit exit the moment it's done. So, the time it would have taken is added to the pit entry instead.

You're stuck there watching your pit crew twiddle their thumbs for 40 seconds before anything happens. And during that time you have no control. Can't pause the game to change your settings. Can't check the weather map. Can't change your TCS or brake balance or fuel map.

It's awful.

I just did a test using time trial mode on the Le Mans track. From the time the computer takes over after you enter the pits, to the time you are given back control, is about 26 seconds (+/- a few tenths). Obviously that's without an actual pit STOP since you're continuously rolling along. But the time it takes to get to about midway through the pit lane is around 16 seconds. So factoring that in, it shouldn't take more than 20 seconds (or a little less) to get to the pit box and have your crew start working on the car. Yet we're stuck with almost 35 seconds of waiting for the car to even get to the box. Hell, if they cut it back to 25 seconds, that'd be a major improvement. And, yes, the "teleporting" close to the pit exit gets some of the time back; but it's negligible, at, best. It might save you 4-5 seconds.....MIGHT.

Or pit stops need to be real-time, not taking place as cut-scenes away from the track.

Yes, it'll mean the animations won't be quite as fluid but I'd take that over the current "teleported from the track to magical pit lane cut scene world".

Hey, at least the pit times aren't randomized :P

The 2000 Collection Limit. Sounds huge, but unlike GT Sport which had individual Collections, Gran Turismo 7 has all categories shared.

Think about it: there are about 436 Cars in the game now. If you were to get 2 Liveries from other Users for each Car, that's almost 900. Double that if the Cars have Widebody options, then we have 4 Liveries per Car. That's over 1700 possible slots taken. Remember, you may also want 1000 Decals to use for your own Liveries or save about 50 Slots for Racing Suits & Helmets.

?????
Why are you driving 1 handed??
I'm not,The incar driver hand animation I'm talking about , it certain cars and on MT, nur 02 Skyline in car driver is driving one hand through twisty bits, just searched it on here and it is an issue others say and in my book :), whether Sony do anything or not is another thing but it bugs me lol.

The update schedule is a joke in this game.

3 cars a month and and average of 1.5 hours of singleplayer content.

I will re-install once the single player is what I was sold. The most complete GT to date. At this rate it should be ready in 3 or 4 years.

Yamauchi, if you happen to read this, you are a lying con-man and you should be ashamed of yourself for decimating what was THE racing game for so many people, myself included. I will never buy another one of your products ever again.

Yeah the lack of having anything new too do after day 1 of the update sucks big time plus the patch notes are rather small, it's back too the same ole stuff . There is me waiting on my PS5 coming this week and it still gonna be the same. but I love too drive by myself not in a hurry kinda way, just hope and pray GT7 gets the new vr headset thats coming next year, love driving VR in GTS.

I know, I know, it might be better in the long run, but the constant PP adjustments start to get on my nerves.

I have around fourty 600PP cars, I use for custom races and the WTC600 events and the garage gets constantly bigger.
It wasn't too bad to go through ten cars or so, to adjust them back to 600PP, but it's getting more and more annoying, every month.

The monthly updates to the game themselves aren’t so much what annoys me as the undocumented changes they make every single month. I’m ok with them adding new content such as cars and tracks, but stop fiddling with stuff that already works which results in all types of undocumented changes and usually new glitches or bugs. Every month you have to essentially rediscover how random parts of the game work or don’t work because they make rushed changes and tweaks to stuff without thoroughly testing them or even so much as documenting them to make us aware. Yes, they always have the disclaimer that PP changes may occur as result of the update, and that they’ve made other miscellaneous improvement/changes, but they really need to do a better job explaining what they’ve tweaked and how it impacts gameplay. It’s like their developers are all on different pages and kind of do what they want, when they want. I play video games to relax and enjoy them and it’s getting increasingly frustrating to know that every single month you’re going to log on and a bunch of stuff has changed (even if slightly) that you are unaware of and will randomly encounter new glitches or issues as a result and have to make other changes to how you previously played. I guess I’m getting too old for this new age of gaming, because I miss the days of studios and developers actually completing a game, putting it through a thorough QAQC process and making sure it’s as good as they can make it before releasing. I hate how so many games these days release games one little part at a time over months or years because they know they can always add/remove/change stuff via forced updates and DLC packages.
If they only made these changes quarterly or annually it would be different, but the frequency and number of undocumented changes are really starting to turn me off to a game I truly once enjoyed, even with its flaws and low reviews from others.

What is the point of having a race with a tyre wear of 150 laps?? Like in manufacturers this week 15 laps x 10x tyre wear.

I would understand 15 laps at 3x or 4x, but 10x???

Hope my maths are correct.

I've noticed more and more since release, and currently bugging the hell out of me, is the lack of tire marks in this game.

Sure they appear when you lock up, use handbrake, or drift, but no tire marks when tires are under stress for example in a 'tank slapper', wheel slip without drifting, hard cornering etc.

Not all tire marks require plumes of smoke PD:

Tuned cars only have a "Professionally Tuned" tag without a "Road Car" tag, meaning stuff like the RE Amemiya RX-7 and GRMN 86 can't be used in regular races, despite basically being road cars.

What really grinds my gears, is when you’re looking for a specific livery and see loads of them, so you look at the one that has 1000+ likes and when you preview it, it looks (insert another word for crap here)!
