The Things That Annoy You

The fact you have to buy wet tyres for the Manufacturer Series rental cars is just idiotic from PD. Can't buy in the pre race either.

What are the things about GT7 that annoy you the most? Here are a few things that annoy me:
-Having to create a livery to change the colour of a car
-The game forcing you back to the home screen before going to another section of GT Auto
-Not being able to fit every wheel to every car
-Lenient event restrictions
-Lack of proper city courses
PD has no idea how brake balance controllers work. Even if I set the brake balance to full on the front I am still locking the rear brakes and spinning out with even the tiniest of inputs.

any polygons on a car's steering wheel.

It's like that because of the PS4 versions unfortunately. No change was made between the ps4 and ps5 cockpit models, only textures improved between versions.

Some cars have lower poly steering wheels, that's awful to look at when the rest of the game looks great

The amount of cars with steering wheel displays that show information the game doesn't actually model properly. It's very nice being able to see the tyre and brake temperatures, but I don't think they stay the same in all conditions and at all times during a race.

Been fairly happy with the cars they've added through the updates. But what does annoy me is the fact that they don't update the Real Car Paints in the GT Auto store. For example, I wanted the newly added BMW M2 Competition in Hockenheim Silver AND Long Beach Blue, but would rather just buy one car and get the paint that I didn't get on the car to put on a swappable livery/paint job. But it seems like they haven't bothered with adding in the new colors for the cars in the updates. Seems like a slight oversight for people who want to be able to enjoy multiple colors of new additions without having to buy the car twice.

I feel like this must have been mentioned before, but the lackluster feeling of leveling up your car collecting level past 50. Considering the number of paints available, why not offer those as a reward? Feels just pointless watching that collection experience number go up with no real reward after level 50. Heck, bring back the GT5 car wash or oil change coupons as something....

Yup. Feels great as an offline player to be treated as basically an afterthought.
Just curious what your thoughts are on Licence tests, missions races, circuit experience? Did you try to gold those events?
I think the races being scattered all over the place in specific circuits is annoying, and hard to plan for.

They're good one time side content, but they don't make up for the lack of races. And on the topic of the the races, most are copy and paste of the same race rules, there's little variety and many cars don't get a look in. Add in the fact they're nearly all chase the rabbit affairs and not rolling or stnading grid starts, which the game can clearly do, and it is really frustrating how poor the single player career has been thought out (there are more issues with it than the aforementioned too). I also agree with your observation about the races being scattered around the track menu's instead of in an organised events list.

I've golded them all. The Licenses, CE, and Missions for the most part feel like they're just slapped onto the game to tick off the "Gran Turismo game has XXX" checkbox.

The game makes no use of the License Tests past National A.

The Circuit Experiences are just...there. Glorified time trials that are functionally identical to the License Tests that do nothing to actively teach you to "experience" a circuit. At least GTS had those videos. It also took some major complaints for PD to adjust the credit rewards to make them worth doing not just for the sake of completionism.

The Missions do at least offer something different (if you've never played a past GT game or basically any other arcade-ish racing game in the last 20 years). Like 30-minute endurance races for 5000 credits that can only be done once. The 1-hour endurance missions they added (how many months ago now?) were nice but again are one-and-done with little replay value.

Dirty drivers....who seemingly receive no real punishment for creating carnage in every online race they participate in.
Just watched the replay of that race and he got 1 - 4 second penalty for smashing you, and a .5 second for a track cut. And that's it. He also took out the guy who ended up in P2 two times(!) as well as 2 other innocent victims just running their races.

Challenge races where the other cars have anywhere from a 30 to 80 second headstart and you have to sit there and watch the camera pan towards your car at the end at a glacial pace.

Then you get to watch it over and over again every time you retry.
That’s the worst.

Especially when this ‘challenge’ is essentially no different to every other race in the game… except they make to watch the ai drive away, instead of just starting you 30-80 seconds behind them

Good to know.....yeah he rammed me in T1 on the first lap and just plowed his way into the lead from I think 5th or 6th on the start. Then he did it AGAIN to me when I was coming out of the pits after a tire change and coming into T1 a second time. I got fed up and ran him down and caught him a couple laps later on the front straight and punted him off going into T1 sending him spinning into the gravel, I think he rejoined in 12th. I incurred a 4 second penalty of my own but it was well worth it. He has to be the dirtiest driver I've ever coming across in this game.

I fortunately was able to jump back in for the 10pm EST slot and had a nice clean enjoyable race finishing in 3rd.

This right here I find this more insulting then getting 5K from a 5 star ticket. :boggled:

Probably the "please refuel" message in the middle of the screen. Took me awhile to see it as well. I don't understand why PD feel the need to place it there.
Well it’s a pretty important message! If it was just a typical refuel light like you get in your own car, people would be on here complaining that it’s not obvious enough!!

At least it only shows for a short time nowadays unlike early in GTS where it was up constantly

In the WTC600 race at Spa why does the white Toyota driven by Kokuban always on the 3rd Lap drive onto the gravel trap on the uphill part of the circuit after the pit straight, Sorry i can’t remember the name of this part of the track ? .

One does it at le mans too in the wtc700 onto runoff area before Mulsanne straight, have too watch as he veers back on track right into the side of you.
