So I spent some time reviewing the replays from both of my EU and NA races over the last few weeks. I not only watched my personal races but spent time watching the 1st and last place racer's race as well to see if I could learn something. Here is some observations:
1. Class C (and above) is going to have some competition in the future once some of us D class drivers find our speed. I saw very consistent lap times (usually within 0.5 seconds for each lap). The TOP D class drivers (yes there are top D class drivers) race clean and I believe in the spirit of the S safety rating.
2. Then there is the other side of the class. Here is a short list of things I saw which need dramatic improvement:
a. Try not to overdrive the cars. I saw several racers who consistently miss apexes leading to an off track adventure. Missed braking points, too fast entering and\or incorrect lines through corners. Practice needed? Then practice!
b. Too much reliant on ghosting. Now I am not sure if racers actually rely on the ghosting as they intentionally drive through people in the corners or it they just drive through accidentally as the system ghosts drivers. What happen to giving room for cars in front of and\or around you? For the record I hate ghosting and don't believe it should be in the game.
c. Some need to learn how to return to the racetrack without wrecking another's race. I saw this on several occasions and probably relates to the over driving issue talked about above.
Finally I am not calling out specific drivers (because apparently some frown on this) but their childish behavior just sucks. I found a few and wrote down names for future races but PD needs to develop a better way to report childish driving. I am sure most can tell the difference between inexperienced drivers or general mistakes and this behavior. When a car is going down a straight constantly driving into another car it is sort of obvious. Not turning into a corner or dive bombing braking are more examples. Watching a replay usually proves this after the race.
My rant is complete for now, I need to practice for Bathurst.
