Does anybody else inadvertently hit the mode switch with their left knee in the heat of battle?
When this happens and I re-set the switch, for some reason it knocks the wheel off center.
Which means I go the rest of the race with the wheel cock-eyed.
Then you have to quit the game and get completely out to re-set the wheel back on center. Very Frustrating!
I do this a lot, especially when I'm really pushing it in the F2007 (GT5).
A real mood killer! :grumpy:

Impossible with last firmware = “MODE” BUTTON: Now necessary to press this button for one second to invert the pedal set position (to avoid unintended inversion during gameplay).

Certainly not at the launch because not on "Official supported wheel List". With a next patch, probably YES. The best is to ask here:

Don't forget that on PS3 only game developer can choose if specific device will be compatible or not (not this problem on PC).

Look at the end of the video when the wheel is set at center, look at the center strip on the wheels rim in relation to the 50% mark of the calibration software on the compute screen. Looks like the real world movment of the wheel is very close to what the calibration software is picking up.

My wheel has been picked up by UPS today. It has the fan noise issue.
Wonder what they will do with it. Anyone know if they repair or replace the wheel?

What sort of fan noise issue does your wheel have? My T500 rs is noisy, but I think the cheap fan is to blame.
 
Neither Shift2 nor NTG are compatible with the T500. Big blow to Thrustmaster and it's retailers considering the $50 price drop.

It a new wheel , NTG will be patched . Not sure about shift .

You're right, we do have a commitment from Eutechnix. Wasn't EA listed as being committed to supporting it? They only has since early Jan to code it...

I'm not computer savvy so excuse my ignorance.

I've been shifted myself over GT2/Xbox.

I feel your pain.

Tested today by me, and not working: there isn´t between selection menu, and it´s not recognized as a generic wheel (the game doesn´t detect the turn for assignaments).

I'm kind of confused I thought in that picture posted by GainSym they were playing Shift 2-PC using a Thrustmaster? Was that a different wheel then....

GainSym has been posting that other picture with a G27 and a T500RS that makes it look like the T500RS is 15 feet tall. I'm guessing that GainSym is letting their enthusiasm for the wheel cloud their better judgement a little, but I could be wrong...
 
Earlier today I completed a call to Thrustmaster tech support to ask about the v.1/v.2 differences. The person at TM began saying she thought it involved the paddle shifters but after checking with a manager she told me there is no mechanical difference whatsoever and the v.2 sets ship with newer firmware only. She sounded quite sure of this.

Any independent research on this? Thanks!

I am a newbie at gtplanet. :)

Just got T500RS from Sony Style local pre-order activity last night.

It is HK$4,699 official listed price with free shipping. (i.e. US$602).

The packing carton box printed "V3" wordings.

I just tried T500RS last night. I guess it comes with v35 firmware as I need to press and hold "Mode" button for 1 second so as to change pedal orientation.

I got G27 + Perfect Pedal.

IMHO, Perfect Pedal has better brake feeling than T500RS brake pedal. Or, I need some more time to get familiar with distance vector brake pedal...
 
T500 RS works perfect with Shift 1 using profile 25 (fanatec 911 turbo s wheel). So why it should not work with Shift 2?
I will test it tomorrow.. ;)
