Looking at the forums for NASCAR 2011 Game, it appears that patch will be delayed due to the PSN outage. So if you were buying it for the t500rs I would hold off til that patch is out.

No worries though Dirt 3 will be out soon (just 6 days for me) which, as we know, will officially support the t500rs 👍

@Irish, welcome aboard! Glad you're happy with it

First impression of the wheel.

Wheel:
The wheel its selfs runs very smooth and feels less powerful compared to a DFGT. almost no vibrations on the T500, the DFGT vibrating alot. even when you touch the kerbs, i somehow miss those vibration on the T500. nevertheless i like the smooth driving, i only need to get used to it.

Shifter/paddles
I love the paddles, they are just fun to use. only stupid there is no shifter. why you need a clutch paddle?

Brake paddle
The braking "for me" is the most difficult thing, It will take some time to get used to it. probably becaus my previous wheel(DFGT) had no resistance on the braking pedal. Now it feels heavy, and strong. Still i have to try the diffrent Brake mod/setups.

Noice
When i first used the wheel i though it was very quiet, smooth. really silent:tup: But after some time the fan started to work. Its extremely loud. I think i can ignore it when i got used to it (i hope) But its my only and biggest complaint so far :yuck:

I've managed to get the wheel sorted, and it turned out it was my mistake to begin with after mounting it to the WSP (Pinched one of the pedal cable).

Anyhow, having used the wheel for a good few hours now, i'm driving my cars with no TC or ABS, I noticed that on harsh braking, the wheels lock up and the steering becomes a lot lighter as if I am feeling the wheel's locking coming through the steering wheel itself! Is this meant to happen and is part of the numerous (wonderful) effects the T500rs produces?

Personally I think your wheel is broken; contact support. I used to have a DFP which is virtually identical to the DFGT. My experience with my t500rs wheel sharply contrasts with yours

Ah, I wasn't aware you had a WSP as well. Yeah I always make sure not to pinch my pedal cables when I move it around. So this is what will happen... Interesting....

Yeah what a nightmare, theres me thinking something serious was wrong but all is good now! And the wheel is amazing, even more so with WSP! Been really pushing my modded 458 Italia to its limit.

So is it normal to feel the wheels lock up through the steering wheel when thr ABS is turned off? Not sure if u know..

There's a lot of little things that the wheel does I've noticed. Like in iRacing, for instance, I can really feel the surface FFB come through from the laser scanned tracks nice and neat. rFactor feels very good with the FFB mods

ah right, when I have ABS off I try to just break in a straight line when its a hard break. Cant quite recall if my steering wheel goes light as well. I was planning on doing that new French Seasonal event tonight so I'll give it a try while I'm in there

Cool let me know. It only does it under hard breaking as if you can feel the wheels locking up as it would in a real car without the ABS on.

So Wheel Stand Pro is a good fit for T500?
I really want a mobile solution as I wanna be able to take it all over to a friend (who happens to love GT AND got a 60" Plasma tv).

Yeah the WSP deluxe (for t500rs) works great. see Tophn's post at the bottom of this link: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=199511&page=2

Not sure how 'mobile' you will find it. T500rs is pretty heavy on the stand as you can imagine. Maybe thats why its a bit more stable then one would think

One thing about the T500 I can't understand is the standard rubber wheel. It's not even a good quality one, I got scratch marks on it after only a few hours of use. Is real leather too expensive in that particular part of China where the OEM factory is located? Maybe Yamauchi San forgot to tick the "Optional Leather Wheel" box on the pre-production check list? My guess is TM will release a leather wheel upgrade kit bundled with the gear shift (if and when it actually materialized...).

Meanwhile, I've sent mine to the local auto trimmer for a "skin graft":

Wow! Would so buy the T500 if it came wrapped in that! The rubber is a main reason I won´t buy the wheel and the fact that there´s still no information about a shifter. In a year or so they might release a newer version in leather and if they do I will defenetly buy one.

Maxitsu, I suggest you so the S. Loeb Special Events. You should notice significant changed on all of the surfaces. When you get to snow & ice, there will be hardly any resistance at all.

I too can confirm that the T500RS is very well supported by the WSP. No regrets about either purchase.

Just have to say that the wheel stand pro is an excellent product for someone not wanting a complete cockpit. In fact it works just right for me and I have noticed a change in lap times after only a few minutes of playing! Also great for storage, folds up quite easily providing you remove the metal frame from the pedals which I have done. But be careful not to pinch any wires when setting up:sly:

Do you guys think the warranty (1 year parts and 1 year labor) that comes with the T500 is enough? Extra cash for additional warranty for an already expensive wheel is a bit over already for me... but then again, it's an expensive investment! Just like what everyone's saying, the wheel's expensive but worth it... So... Thoughts? :indiff:

Worth it IMO. This is my second T500 and support was A+ in getting me a new wheel. If I get a years worth of play with it and it goes to crap, I would purchase another.

Yeah, and did you get your 2nd wheel with only the warranty that comes with it? Hmmm... makes me wanna go shopping
