I find unbelivable that this will even be mountable on the table.
Have no real info, but the whole "engine bay" looks like it will demand some kind of special mounting on sides - not on bottom, as Logitech/Fanatec have at this point.
Read the OP, scroll down to the updates.
America doesn't have VAT taxes, which brings in the cheaper prices. In other words, like you kind of said, for this wheel: 500$ = 500.Yeah I have done that already last week but on the op it says 500$ what makes 370... And i´ve heared that it will be cost 500 = 660$ (RUMOURS)
So Fanatec does the same, the wheel costs 499$ in the US and 499 in the EU
To me, once we know it's technical capabilities, it's build quality and its price, the next most important question, and others have already raised this, is if it will have standard (as claimed by Logitech) mounting positions. A lot of people who already own Playseats or Visionracers will likely be more apt to buy this wheel if they know it will be a straight swap for the G25/G27 and they can simply bolt it down on their current hardware.
Personally, I'm not a big fan of how it looks. But if really performs above and beyond what the G27 can do (and more aggravating than anything, that GT5 doesn't officially support the G25/G27) I would consider it.
I just think a lot of politics are being played here between PD, Sony and Logitech. There is no reason why PD would not have included full support for Logitech's premium wheels other than their deal with Thrustmaster. It does leave a bit of a sour taste.
I had no idea that these wheels aren't supported for GT5. Is it dampening the experience much? I noticed both you and Biggles seem pretty impressed with the game's handling.
The actual wheel and pedals seem to work quite well, the G27 however is has two buttons on the shifter that don't work (L3 and R3) and 4 on the wheel that don't work (note these all work in other games to some extent - even in GT5P so it's not a hardware or driver issue) and you CANNOT assign RA menu to any button... the only way to access RA menu is to turn a controller on, set it to controller 1 and use that to get the menu up.
From what I've had here for review purposes and own wheels my sound ratings from loud to quiet would be: (I only mention wheels > 80)
Loud to quiet:
1. Logitech DFP (straight gears)
2. Logitech DFGT (straight gears)
3. Logitech G25 (straight gears)
4. Logitech MOMO red (straight gears)
5. Fanatec Porsche 911 Turbo wheel (belt drive)
6. Logitech G27 (helical gears)
7. Fanatec Porsche 911 GT3 RS (belt drive)
8. Thrustmaster F430 (not that cockpit thing) (belt drive)

That's not my issue at all. With the G27 you can not even alter the FFB setting. Adjusting it to 1 or to 10 makes no difference. I'm beginning to suspect that many people with a G27 don't even realize how limited it is.
That said, all things considered, it does at least work and you can use the clutch. I just think it's ridiculous that the G25/G27 which have been out for 3/1 years are not 'officially' supported but the T500RS is, and it doesn't even have a street date yet.
I don´t get why people hate it so much becuse of the price. Remember when Driving Force GT were announced and alot of people made comments like "omg I will keep my G25" and so on. People back when were expecting the new GT wheel to be of way higher quality than previous GT Wheels. And now we finally get a high quality GT wheel for the PS3 with metal construction and people tell it´s gonna be bad before they have even read any review.
On the G27 however, shifting lights reportedly work. Surely they must not be working merely by chance (as rpm information must be sent to the wheel, and that is the only wheel with this feature to my knowledge), so I suspect that PD either tried to support it, but full support has not been not completed yetdue to time constraints (although after three patches one would expect that this popular wheel would get fully supported), orthey deliberately did not offer full support due to unknown circumstances (most likely marketing reasons, in case).
I did order a G27 yesterday hoping it will get supported fully (configurable buttons and feedback) at some point, by the way.
And it is not more quiet than G27.PWTS and the gt3rs are the same mechanically so your list is by default wrong.
And it is not more quiet than G27.
Well, you have to agree that many players and members here are young, have no real money or incomes and they feel frustrated because they can't afford something. And they're very vocal because of it, so perception is that it is too expensive, blah, blah, blah.
I have just spent serious money on new Fanatec GT3 RSV2 Clubsport Edition+Shifters+Clusport Pedals Tuning Kit and I can tell you it was very expensive even without postage and shipping, VAT and rest of the costs.
However, I can't wait to try T500RS and buy it immediately if it is good, even if it costs assumed 500 euros. It will still be cheaper than iPhone for instance (when sold without contract) and it is just matter of personal priorities.
And I live in Croatia with GDP much lower than in rest of Europe.
Yes they are....
I have tested every wheel on the list, and the Fanatec wheels are easily the quietest. The helical gears in the G27 are smoother than the old straight cut gears. However, they still make a lot of noise compared to any belt driven wheel.
