Sitting around, lounging in 32°C
Unusual for the UK, but quite pleasant. Meant to have a thunderstorm rage in soon!

Saw this on my way to work this morning. I think from the storms last night there was a pretty nasty microburst. Several power lines down or bent over, damage to farms, etc.

Yikes. Two nights ago I was locking up some tables outside at work around closing time when a bout of intense rain and wind came on almost instantly and lasted for about seven minutes or so. When I came back outside, several trees in the parking lot had been severely broken, uprooted or both.

I was told our weather station on property registered a 100mph wind gust just before it was knocked over. The cow farm behind us, some cows were actually killed. Cars around here with windows broken, small storage buildings uprooted and moved...

Yup! Reached 34 here for about an hour. Actually now the hottest day since 2003, with 36.7 clocked up on the Heathrow METAR

34?!

It hit 34 here yesterday for much of the day and with the humidity was feeling like around 38. It will be similar again today. We get a reprieve tomorrow because there is a chance of some storms coming in and the temperature will only be 31, but with what I assume will be oppressive humidity. And that is the thing, the summers here are always at least that hot. I believe it was last year or the year before that we had something like 20 straight days of over 38.

I guess at least we are pretty much out of tornado season.

Today is low 70's and partly cloudy.

So far the holiday weekend forecast is mid-high 70's to low 80's and dry through Sunday.

Storms return Monday.

Not something Britain is used to at all!

One of the storm chasers down here in AZ snapped this photo a couple nights ago when we got some of those large storms rolling through. This one was south of Tucson and was tornado warned for a short amount of time.

Right now we're back to sunny and hot, but hopefully that changes this weekend.

Edit: Large photo, put in spoiler tags to save some computers from blowing up.

Cold (around 10°C-15°C) and sunny. Looks like it's going to be pretty much the same for the rest of the week.

That's the difference between Australia and Belgium. You say that 10 - 15°C is cold during winter (it is winter in Australia?), I call this summer during winter time. :D

It is around 31 - 32°C in my bedroom. And still, I have a normal 8 tot 9 hour sleep, except today, I slept only 7 hours.

Today, it's going to be the hotest day of the heat wave.

Tell you what, last night was dangerously beautiful. Sat up watching the storms. There was a point where there was lightning (sheet and forked) every 5 seconds. Thunder was enough to shake the house slightly. But it was amazing.

I wouldn't call it a calm night.

I was going to bed and turned of the living room lights not realising I didn't have any other lights on... walking through the house with flashes of silent lighting flicking through the windows..... felt like a horror movie

We didn't get it nearly as intense as the forecast predicted. The odd flash and rumble after midnight without rain with the bulk rolling through much further east. Peaked at about 260 strikes/min.
