I'm surprised he didn't get a "Trumpism man" in there somewhere.
Translation: "I can't actually refute this because I really did attempt to gain the upper hand in an argument by responding to another's remarks as something they were not and got called out on it."Wow...just...wow...
While Trumpkins do frequently engage in the sort of deceitful behavior that I've called out above, I don't get the sense that it's the result of that blind allegiance to your bronzer daddy.I'm surprised he didn't get a "Trumpism man" in there somewhere.
New Zealand is delaying its general election due to a handful of virus cases. Imagine the outrage if the US election was delayed for the same (or even any?) reason.
BBC NewsThe prime minister of New Zealand, Jacinda Ardern, has postponed the country's general election by a month amid a spike in coronavirus cases.
The vote was due to take place on 19 September but will now be held on 17 October instead.
Ms Ardern said on Monday that the new date would allow parties "to plan around the range of circumstances we will be campaigning under".
Earlier this week, the country's largest city went back into lockdown.
"This decision gives all parties time over the next nine weeks to campaign and the Electoral Commission enough time to ensure an election can go ahead," Ms Ardern said, adding that she had "absolutely no intention" of allowing any further delays to the vote.
The opposition National Party has argued the election should be delayed as restrictions on campaigning mean Ms Ardern had an unfair advantage.

The Constitution establishes the date the new president must take office, and there are no provisions therein for delaying it. As I understand it, New Zealand does not at all face a similar conundrum. Man, nuance is really getting tossed aside here lately, huh?
As an aside, I can recall many occasions upon which you jumped into any conversations about the Electoral College to remind us that it is similarly Constitutionally-enshrined. I'm surprised to find you now seemingly either ignorant of or unconcerned about the Constitution.
I believe Congress has the power to pass a law which changes the election day due to exceptional circumstances. I do not anticipate that it will be needed. But I do expect delays in processing mail to delay the results of the election for up to several days or more. Also, I expect caches of ballots to be discovered after election day in drop boxes in which ballots have no time stamp, posing risk of legal challenges. ANY excuse for a legal challenge will be taken advantage of.The Constitution establishes the date the new president must take office, and there are no provisions therein for delaying it. ... and postponing an election for less than a month amid a spike in cases of a very real virus to give the opposition more time to campaign?
I've created this thread for the news stories that seem to not generate media outrage as to not clog up other threads.
I'll start with this story I posted in The George Floyd thread.

Is there something specific to the case to be outraged about other than the outrage that murder brings?Has there been outrage about the murder Veronica Baker het?
You guys seem to be missing the point. Outrage is for crimes that are not brought to justice and are therefore an injustice. Person gets murdered and murderer gets put in jail is justice. Done and done.
Right, because in their minds they believe black people aren't allowed to have anything, even something as simple as causing harm to another human being.Or judging by some of the posts here, we need to be outraged when a black person kills a white person.

This is like a rerun of the beginning of the thread.I mean, ya murder is never a good thing, but the suspects are in custody. What should I be outraged about?
I predict further furious memes on the meme thread in response to this. If so, then maybe that's where the outrage is.Fixed that for you.
is elected president
I'm not quite sure I understand what you're getting at with this, so it'd be awesome if you'd elaborate, but it was entertaining to watch regardless.

I got "trolling" vibes from it--which is to say that you were suggesting I was trolling for responses with an outrageous remark.Felt right. Something about catching the big one.

Yeah, but they ain't antifa paedophiles though. *fumes in outrage*.Why should I be outraged that someone is out on bail? Bail is permitted under the Eight Amendment and plenty of people who are charged with attempted murder are let out on bail.
Thank god it exists. This thread has pretty rapidly devolved into what it was always going to.
*yawn*
Let me know if he fails to appear for subsequent hearings and/or trial. In the event that he does, I'll root for his capture and hope that he's held accountable, not only for acts of which he stands accused, but for fleeing as well.
