the only bad things is that with 96 tracks every track wont be as crisp as the new tracks they have made.. if they are going to take some tracks from gt4 and just make em nextgen they wont look as god as the new tracks they make from scrath..

but its better to have more tracks than just a few crispy tracks..

im as excited as the next person but i think they might be saying that doing the mirror of a lap could count as a whole new track.. which would make it so that their was only 47 tracks, which is still alot

To come back to the subject: as said before, there is no evidence that things amar hasn't mentioned will not be in the game. Let's think about it. Amar is a journalist. It's likely he got some kind of whitepaper about GT5 or had the chance to talk to someone about GT5 to ask some basic questions.

We have to assume he only got the basic figures (no offense there, amar) of what to expect for the game, but not many details. Therefore, it is very well possible that damage simply was not mentioned, because someone didn't deem it important enough. It may be important for us, but we have a different view on the game than someone being involved in making it.

As for the track list: did they accidently forget Pikes Peak?

I'm not really sure what Amar has access to. I'm beginning to wonder if he isn't playtesting early builds of the game. Whatever the deal is, he's privy to something that has him excited. He's been in this business for years, and associated with Gran Turismo for a while now, so whatever is in GT5 is a pretty big deal.

So, guys, you might as well realize you're not going to get much more, unless he gets a green light to say something more, which I highly doubt. Making an impact means keeping the big news quiet until the main event, and that event is E3. SONY is saving the fireworks for E3 to make it a big production, to make sure everyone pays attention to them, doesn't look to another company, so that everyone wants the PS3 and PS3 games. Gran Turismo is their biggest selling most profitable franchise, so they want it to land with an earth shaking BANG. Some things like damage, weather, day/night cycles, the depth of racing modification and liveries, inclusion of Porsche and Lamborghini... there are so many big things on our wish lists which you can't let out early, or else, what will the news be? And you know that Microsoft would love to get a six week preview in order to shoot all of it down, even if they have to lie to do it.

Six weeks isn't that long to wait. ;)

more breaking news ( not really new but expected ) not from amar but translated into amar heroin language:

" 7th wind is telling the tale of a union of all winds coming together in a marriage turning into a huge whirlwind that is epic with colorful sights to see from the outside. 7th wind will also happen with 1st wind. This union has happened before in past times"

I KNOW WHAT IT IS!!! I think... ive been lurking this site for awhile... had to create an account just for this...

Hes talking about the GT5 Bundle...

Everything coming together in a marriage ( ps3, gt5 game, extras )
Colorful sights to see from the outside ( bundle art box )
Will be released the same time of the GT5 game
And he mentions it has happened before...

I think im right on this!!! :):):):):):):dunce:👍:tup:am i correct?

Not exactly. You're right in that a reverse track would normally count as another track, but the real life ones (Laguna, La Sarthe, Nordschleife, Fujo etc) won't be run backwards, so the maths doesn't quite work like that.

Remind me to wear a hat. What with all those birds around!
This whole thread is like a Hitchcock film.

A lot of the real tracks though have variations, some more than 2 (heaven forbid if we get the '80s, '90s, F and GT versions of Fuji again :dunce:).

Hi, I'm a new user too, but long time stalker...

I'm pretty confident the 7th wind talks about GT5 being implemented (married) in/(with) HOME. The colorful sights to be seen from the outside would be that you can watch replays or even ongoing races in HOME

Regarding what he knows, I'd rather say he got second hand info. Amar wouldn't get to know things like the release date through playing an early build of the game.

Unless it is like a Demo copy, they usually have an estimated release date at the end. :sly: Of course you are probably right in thinking he has second hand info. All I know is this Cryptic Message is getting all over the internet, some people are even having a go at Sony for releasing Cryptic Messages, instead of actual facts.

Well, with SCEA saying this E3 will be one of the biggest unveilings for sony on the software side of things, and amar and some others gently hinting towards BIG things going to happen soon, i think come E3 we will finally see the lid blown off by then.. no more wee GT5P updates, but finally the full game info, screens and perhaps a trailer we all have been craving for the last few years.
I hope it can live up to what they have shown us in 2005:

And hopefully there will be night racing and a weather system (dynamic hopefully), a pitcrew while going for a pitstop, etc... either way, im glad there is now a positive vibe around GT5 and that we wont have to wait THAT long anymore till we get info and the full game.

Scaff

May I just say that the idea to take cars and tracks from previous Gran Turismo releases is just that - an idea. It does not mean that they actually physically take the data from GT4 and just soup it up. Therefore, it is not to be expected that some cars and some tracks will look like a polished version of the pre-HD Playstation generation.

Thanks for posting this video mate! 👍
It reminds me what I was anticipating back then. :D
At that time when I first saw the clip, I was already imagining what that feeling would be like when I can have that number of cars racing at the same time (now we can experience that in Prologue 👍) as well as seeing those animated pitcrew working in the pit lane.
Just imagine how amazing it would be to play with the updated FULL HD graphics!

The Track list looks Very Exciting, but in all reality it is not tremendously diff than GT4. That being said I can not wait for some private lobby racing at SPA, Imola, and Midfield.

I hope we get all those tracks, and mayby a few pleasant surprises.

Is it so expensive to license real racing tracks? PD has so many cars in their game but only a few real racing circuits...

It would be funny to race in istanbul or spa... monza or imola...

The question now is.... Are we ready?
I've already made the jump to 320G. I believe with the amount of video files, photo shoots, GTTV content, music files(possibly), and additional DLC a larger HDD will be required. Remember, (I didn't) High Speed Ring was a DLC track after GT5P was released. Will the Uncharted Drake's fortune edition switch gears to producing a GT5 bundle? I think so. Anyone else agree?

Maybe GT5 will have laser scanned tracks.

sorry for my english and grammar.. i got a question. somebody said there will be cars from gt4 they are polisht and looks good but not like cars from gt 5 prologue? but that also mean they made that car like one piece?and not from many different parts like in gt5 prologue? that mean they can not be damage like they should? and some cars who made from skrach just for gt5 could damage real? do you see my point? some cars damage would be real and some not.. and that is bad.. kaz is perfectionist he wont do that. i think he
will not ad damage? that is just my opinion.. i hope i am wrong :)

Something I posted in another thread

KY has mentioned on a couple of occasions a possibility of even 20 cars, since Prologue they may have made enough optimisations for some larger tracks to hold 20. Normally I wouldn't this would be possible but KY has mentioned 20 before, plus in Amar's latest crypic thread he says

"Fourth wind is talking that birdtamers will reunite in numbers greater than ever and will be granted with ability to talk to each other"

While he may mean in lobbies or Home but he could also mean on track, but we never had lobbies or GT5 based home before.

Food for thought

No I believe that is a mistake in peoples interpretations of Amar's post. All cars will be rendered in full HD using similar numbers of polygons. They will be made up of different parts just like the cars you see in GT5P.

Damage is still a big unknown at the moment, we really don't know whether we will have it or not.

I do not think there will be a TRACK creator... I think it was referring to Car Modding with body kits and customization, inside and out. Or maybe even damage?

What days exactly is E3's Sonys Press conference. We have the info yet? I am too excited

Sony is claiming that this year's E3 will be their biggest ever. It takes place from June 2-4, and Sony will probably be unveiling new things through those three days.

Nice pic, though.

Don't get me wrong, GT5 will be a must buy, but without damage and to a lesser degree weather, GT5 will be a dissapointment.

After the wait I want far, far more than GT5P with more content, if that's all that is delivered, I'll be asking why PD didn't just release DLC for GT5P.
