Don't get me wrong, GT5 will be a must buy, but without damage and to a lesser degree weather, GT5 will be a dissapointment.

After the wait I want far, far more than GT5P with more content, if that's all that is delivered, I'll be asking why PD didn't just release DLC for GT5P.

Must buy...

...Disappointment.

Why would you actively buy something that you know is going to disapoint you? :boggled:

we don't know much about GT5 yet at all, I would get all disappointed just yet.

the only bad things is that with 96 tracks every track wont be as crisp as the new tracks they have made.. if they are going to take some tracks from gt4 and just make em nextgen they wont look as god as the new tracks they make from scrath..

but its better to have more tracks than just a few crispy tracks..

Fuji and Suzuka were based on the GT4 tracks- I don't see any degradation in quality when compared to the newer tracks (London, HSR, Eiger etc.).

GT5 will be great, but also dissapointing if it does not implement the de facto standards expected of a AAA simulation.

GT5P + DLC would have been acceptable for many, after such a long wait GT5 without the above is not.

Expectations have risen after the wait, lack of news and higher standards of the simulation competition.

I really think, though, that we can't truly formulate opinions on whether GT5 is a "must buy" or not until serious announcements about the content or features. Kudos to Amar, but it will take less crypticism to figure out what is going in to GT5.

I completely agree.

We got some great info on GT5 which tells us some things clears but leaves others ambiguous. We aren't at a stage to begin to say how GT5 stacks up against its competitors yet, so we can't say whether its worth buying yet. Obviously I am almost certain it will be but we can't really do much other than speculate at the moment.

The Track list looks Very Exciting,but in all reality it is not tremendously diff than GT4.
Well... I wouldn't say that. GT4 had 50 some odd courses including variations, and this hint from Amar indicates almost double that. I'm anticipating a freaking HUGE GT5 with a lot of races to complete. Maybe even versions of real life seasons!

Speak for yourself. :lol:

As one of those who bought both the Japanese and domestic GT5 Prologues, I have little doubt how Gran Turismo 5 is going to burn the shelves as they fly from them, and if there's a pack in, hello record PS3 sales. Prologue itself was a platinum seller just from pre-orders.

And for those who say, why not just make the extra goodies downloadable and incorporate it in Prologue, there's a chance it could happen. It's a slim chance though, and you'd better have 20-50 GB of hard drive space available if it happens, and can put up with a couple of days download time, or more... ;)

Frankly, I want the unpatched, high priced Special Edition. And by the way, the above edit would make it a must buy to me easily, if real life racing series were re-created.

I would agree with him.. lets just say damage wont appear in GT5 (but I do know it will) I would still buy the game, but would be disappointed at the same time. I rather have something then nothing.

But we all know damage is coming

I've never been a fan of damage, so I will be ok if it's not in the game because i won't have to see my beautiful cars torn apart.

GT5:P did receive DLC. What do you think the California, Evora, & the Peugeot were?

If damage is in the game then you should have to spend credits to repair the damage.

That would put a whole new spin on F1 races.

Third tale says that for the first time ever skypaths will not be just solid and already known but that new skypaths will be built by birdtamers from the parts of existing skypaths.
Given we agree that...

Skypaths = tracks
birdtamers = players
(birds = cars)

... this clearly sounds like "track editor" for me:

Bird's=Cars.
Skypath=tracks
Birdtamers=Drivers.
(This is KEY)Big reFirst wind whispers that final reunion will happen thirty nights before twelve months pass united reunion, 12 month's pass= 30 days after december
Were we talk amongst others= private room's with voice chat, FINALY.
That's all i got....The rest made my brain twitch.

Can't we just ask amar212 himself to explain?

But that wont be much fun .. we need to be busy until E3, then amar212 will talk about something new in coded message after E3.

I wonder if amar works for PD in any way. hmm

that is exactly what i am looking for, to repair cars.

Maybe some of you remember NFS: Porsche, were you could choose what to repair if you didnt have enough credit, not only bodywork, but also technical parts!

Hi, I'm a new user too, but long time stalker...

I'm pretty confident the 7th wind talks about GT5 being implemented (married) in/(with) HOME. The colorful sights to be seen from the outside would be that you can watch replays or even ongoing races in HOME

yeah but he says that it has happened before in past times... when has GT ever done this besides the bundle?

im pretty sure its a gt5 bundle becuase thats the only other thing that hasnt been announced yet...

yea, maybe a bundle like this: PS3+GT5+G25/DFGT

I think we can call this the fastest growing thread ever in GTP history and with the most ever persons in a thread at a time.

This is why I started playing Super Hang-On on my Mega Drive again a little while ago. You had to make sure your frame, engine, tyres, oil, brakes, muffler and other bits of your bike were in good enough condition to race, and you could upgrade them as you earned more money... The fact that parts break if you have too many offs or that you just have to pay to keep them in good condition (as opposed to GT's automatic and free replacements!) is awesome, even if the game is a bit dated. I really hope GT has a system like this, but I'm not sure how they'd make it optional, unless the whole GT mode had a regular/pro setting. Then again if it were to be compulsory, you'd get a better standard of driving as all the young kids and punters would realise they're getting nowhere and give up.

Yeah, I remember. I'd like to see something like that as well! :)

IMO, it would be pretty useless to add damage if the car would just magically fix itself at the end of race. You gotta make the player PAY for his mistakes! :D
