All I can say is thank goodness Sony aren't as complacent as some of those around here., i.e. E3's 'only' a trade show. It's a trade show that will define the year ahead and drive the media agenda until Christmas, and the reason why Sony has so many suprise titles under wraps.
But you are acting as if E3 is the end all be all, when last year there was talk that it was a dead show because PAX was considered to be better, as were TGS and Leipzig. E3 is only the media blitz it is because it is at the beginning of the summer new games drought, so it is timed perfectly for putting out news to have buzz carry gamers through the slow part of the year. E3 doesn't have to be the big show that moves Sony's PR forward for the year as you make it sound. They have chosen it as such for SCEA, but Japanese news it typically left to TGS and European for Leipzig. Without a Leipzig this year it could just be that E3 is going to be so big due to them having to get the SCEE news in too.

But as for Sony as a whole relying on E3, I would guess they put as much into CES as well, just not with a gaming focus.

Anyone who thinks the PS3 launch has been anything short of dissapointing, many would say disastrous, has been drinking too much cool aid,
I didn't drink any Kool-Aid but I did get a PS3 after just six months and found myself quite happy and have been happy with my big black machine since.

same goes for anyone who thinks Sony are happy to duke it out with Microsoft for a distant second place. I've followed the PS3's performance closely as part of the Blu-ray/HD-DVD format war, it's no coincidence there have been so many behind the scenes changes at Sony.
Blu-Ray/HD-DVD war? So what have you been paying attention to for the last year?

If you've kept upto speed with the PS3 you'd know previous mistakes are being rectified, quality first party exclusives are now being lined up, rather than hyped crap like Laier.
I would like to believe, as I have owned the system since just a little over six months after launch and post an extraordinarily large amount of the PS3 news in the General PS3 Discussion thread (you should check it out), that I have kept up with the PS3. I do know that they are getting more first-party exclusives, but had a lot of extremely good ones before now, as well as flops like Lair and Haze. Flops happen. But for every Lair and Haze there was an MGS4 and Warhawk. But it isn't as if the 360 and the Wii haven't had flops and great successes too. I mean, have you actually tried some of the big name PS3 exclusives like MGS4, Warhawk, SOCOM, LBP, Killzone, Uncharted, etc? Or any of the awesome PSN games? If the best you can do is point at Lair you are running years behind.

You'll also have noticed the more expensive, technologically superior, PS3 is now consistently outselling the Wii in Japan, a market that traditionally leads the world in terms of sales trends................then again they aren't rivals are they.
What's your point? I see people surprised because a system that costs twice as much is outselling a system that has had an unprecedented sales rush. And doing a quick search I see nothing talking about Sony mentioning that fact, just gaming blogs. Sony has been quick to attack the 360 with various different statistical configurings. But all I see Sony saying about the Wii is their hardware marketing director, John Koller saying how they are hoping the PS2 can chip into its market share. You will have to pardon me if I am likely to believe their hardware marketing director has a better grasp on what they are doing with their hardware than you.

By the way, here is the link....again.

I believe they WILL deliver the goods, but I'm not going to sit back and try to dampen expectations, while dismissing the competition,
Who is doing that. All I did was ask you to show me where you had your news on Forza 3 being so awesome, because I knew you didn't actually have it as they haven't released any details yet. We know about as much about Forza 3 as we do GT5. I'm not dismissing anything other than your blind predictions.

just to keep fanboys who've never actually driven a top of the line PC sim, or in many cases an actual real car.
Who are you talking about now? What fanboys specifically?

So, Jaguar, about NFS Shift, EA allready said that the game will be focused on the easy drive and fun gameplay (arcade), so...
Wrong. Especially check Berca76's posts (who works at Simply Mad Studios) and the magazine interview (last few pages).

I think thats the 3rd or 4th time we've seen that list and yes its someones wishlist, well thought out but still a wishlist

I'm thinking that we'll know more about the release of GT5 and it's contents WHEN E3 actually arrives. Until then, no amount of mad speculation and conjecture are going to do any good. Interpret Amar's prophecy however you may (and it is pretty reliable), but any Un-coded information other than what comes from the mouth of Sony/PD is merely speculation, IMHO. Oh, and the closer we get to these "press releases" and "Show News", the more intense the speculation becomes, thus spawning even more speculation............Remember GT4?

i didnt know it was post before.. i saw it on german forum and tought it is real becouse german isnt my lenguage, english too :) so i am sorry... thanks Kinetic for that
"fellow Serbian :)"

i am from Nish.. that is south of serbia i dont know how much do you know about serbia :) and from where are you Kinetic :)? i mean from witch country in uk?

Ahh cool, i live in England, my father is Serbian and so my last name is a Serbian one too :)

nice to meet fellow serbs always :) especially GT Fans

I believe Amar is also a big figure in an Eastern European group named GT Surgeons. Evidently they have a pretty close association with Polyphony Digital among its members such as Amar, as he's a gaming journalist. But one of the few good ones. ;)

yeah, Amar i for one really appreceate you sticking your neck on the line to even give us hints which we wouldnt have without you, roll on E3

Yes, you are wrong. EA announced Shift as a racing-sim.
Why would they give the work to the SMStudios if they wanted an arcade?

Actually, in recent interviews people in EA said that they were wanting to have the realism of Touring Car racing, but without being so demanding as to leave inexperienced players floundering. And after seeing a few racing videos, it looks like the same old NFS, so they'd better have something polished up before release. If not, DiRT 2 and I assume GRiD 2 are going to smoke it. What's with the lower case vowels in all their titles?

Of course I expect everything to be eclipsed by GT5, which is after all the topic of the thread... ;)

Yeah... you provide a link to a shootout in which the brain trusts discuss sound quality by comparing the MUSIC.

But none of them are Gran Turismo. None of them will be as cool as Gran Turismo, or sell like Gran Turismo. Even if GT5 lacks a lot of the things we'd love to see in it, it's still going to give us access to many, MANY cars more than other games offer, and be about the best racing experience on the PS3.

A game being cool or selling well is of little interest to me, likewise a huge car count is for nothing if the majority are clones with generic engine sounds and physics. The biggest disappointment of GT4 were cars like the Audi Quattro, Jaguar XJR-9LM, Mercedes CLK-LM and Pescarolo Judd sounding nothing like the real deal. Listen to the latest Dirt 2 video and compare to GT5P, it also looks as if they've surpassed GT5P on the graphical front.

No, all they've done graphically is amazing particle physics, it's easy to say look 'DUST', not really available to do that on GT bar the rallys, which we have no footage of on GT5P to say they wont be the same calibre

A game being cool or selling well is of little interest to me

... and based on your last few posts, neither are facts. :ouch:

For someone who likes to say people are drinkin' some kind of Sony/PD/GT Kool-aid because they not only disagree with you, but have facts to back them up, you really should pay closer attention to what you're drinking because it certainly is negatively effecting your judgment and truth telling ability, and instead is apparently letting your biased subjective opinions take over where reasonable critical thinking would otherwise be. :indiff:

They claim to have have the most sophisticated physics engine in the industry and a sim difficulty level which is superior to GT5P and Forza.
