As a previous 360 owner I won't be bothering myself anymore with M$ gamingconsoles. Just like their Windows 8, this console seems just "something". I see a company making crazy jumps because it's losing market everywhere. Yes, they still have power and money but the M$-era is comming to an end rather quickly. No innovation, dull and completely focussed on moneygrabbing. M$ policy for years...:indiff:

Well sorry I cant keepup with all 60 plus pages my friend. get over it

But I assume you could've keep up with the last two to three pages at least.
Sorry my bad. Over it now.

ON TOPIC:
I guess they never really dropped the whole "always online" thing. Just replaced it with online once every 24 hours.

I wonder what happens then if you use the console after like, a week of not using it/signing in.

Also if you were to sign in and wish to sign out and still keep on playing, would a pop-up message of some sort come up telling you to sign in after your 24 hour period is up?

Because that's how I picture it in my head when I heard about it.

I guess we'll find out when the console is finally released.

Knew this console was going to be utter crap. :grumpy: That's M$ for you... My thoughts were right along...... Again... T_T

You complain about people writing off GT6 before they've even experienced it, going off nothing but a single event... and then move on to writing off an entire console after one event?

Brilliant.

Why would they want you to be online once every 24 hours? And where did you find this?

Probably for the DRM related thing.

It's a few posts back https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?p=8496145#post8496145.

The article from Kotaku http://kotaku.com/xbox-one-does-require-internet-connection-cant-play-o-509164109.

Kotaku: If I’m playing a single player game, do I have to be online at least once per hour or something like that? Or can I go weeks and weeks?

Harrison: I believe it’s 24 hours.

Kotaku: I’d have to connect online once every day.

Harrison: Correct.

Time for some car comparisions...
The 360 was a great console (it had some reliability issues...) with great emphasis in core and online gaming, but also casual stuff as Kinect and live features (most were us only). So it reminded me of this...

The X1, with all its TV and casual gaming focus so far (lol @ the 15 exclusives, besides Forza most of them will be Kinect/Sports/Dancing games) reminds me more of this...

I don't think I've ever seen anyone make a comparison that did the exact opposite of what was intended.

I don't even.

So I am way behind today, and am just now watching the reveal. I was sold in the first 10 minutes. Annoyingly however, his instructions to the kinect are telling my own kinect what to do, and it's exited the video about 3 times.
Hilarious - technology biting itself in the ass...

ROFLOL XD That pretty much summed it up for me. Wish I would've seen this before wasting 1+hr watching the reveal video.
The best part is when they say "Call of Duty" over and over again and it starts to sound like "Call a Doody".

I was honestly really surprised they didn't splice a few "Duty"s together to say "Xbox One doody doody doody doody".

But that wouldn't be classy, I suppose. :P

Having spent some more time reviewing all of the presentation and the (sort of) clarifications around the X1, I have to say its certainly not a launch buy for me regardless of FM5 (which is a real shame).

Unless some major back pedaling happens between now and E3, or Sony somehow manage to throw some spanners in the works at E3 with regard to the PS4, then its Sony for me next gen.

Assuming you can use your game on somebody else's console if you sign into your account. what stops you giving out your live account details so all of your friends can play your game without paying for it. I believe this would work providing 2 people did not try to sign into the same account at the same time.

What's the difference between GDDR5 and DDR3. Which is better?
GDDR5

About 3 times the bandwidth (vs quad channel ddr3), more expensive though.
Less latency if they're going to use 1GB ram modules (Yes, the CAS value is highly depending on the modules. Usually 5-20, but CAS is specified in clock ticks, therefore a higher numerical CAS latency may still be a shorter real-time latency if the clock is faster, and the clock of GDDR5 is much faster in that case). But if they're going to use 512MB modules, the clock would be half as high and therefore the real latency would be clearly bigger, but still at about the same level as DDR3.
The higher latency myth was true in the old days when GDDR5 wasn't that fast, but now it's no longer.

I does also offer about 3 times the bandwidth (vs quad channel ddr3), but is more expensive.

Used in all decent modern graphics cards, because ddr3 would be way too slow due to the small bandwidth.

I watched some of the reveal and have to say it was very boring, so I didn't watch it all. Basically the first thing they thought was so important to tell us is, it can change inputs by waving your hands and talking. Not impressed at all.

It looks kind of nice though, but maybe a bit huge.

What if your friend connect before you and you can't access because he is still online and maybe he want to play for 3 or 4 hours. LOL
I don't see it working very well.

I guess with some good communication it could work.

Kind of what happend with the PS3 game redeem codes, lots of people were able to get free games.

In just 1 hour, the XBOX ONE became the most pointless thing on the planet... They spent 30 minutes talking about bloody TV and how the Kinect will take you in and out of games, movies, web browsers and the TV. How is this relevant in a gaming console? How is using Kinect any more simple, than just using your TV remote? Sorely dissapointing that Forza 5 was shown as an arcade game, rather than the great Sim that I would expect it to be.

The entire conference was just a bore, with very little relevance to gaming. They barely even touched on the capabilities of their console in terms of video games. Just went on and on about pointless Kinect and TV integration...

So far, the only good things they talked about was that they were releasing 15 exclusives within the first year. That's certainly good news. But it might have been a good idea to show just a few of them. Perhaps even showing some actual gameplay? Don't think I've ever seen a tech announcement without any real tech display demos. Also, I quite like the design and name.

And am I the only one who couldn't stop laughing at how pathetic Call of Duty looked, and how ridicules their statements regarding the franchise were.
Aparently, the new CoD will feature actual AI! Now that is amazing. And you can lean and mantle over things! WOW! IW most be delusional if they actually thing they ever set a benchmark for gameplay, graphics, story or sound.

Hopefully they'll show something interesting at E3. Perhaps, they'll realise that the most important thing in a gaming console, are the games...

This pretty much sums up the crap being posted here and elsewhere. Rumors, favoritism, misrepresented facts, presumptions... To many unknowns for BOTH next gen consoles, I surely can't visit these forums for facts.

The most important piece of hardware when it comes to gaming performance has not been specifically revealed yet by either party, the GPU. Sony has given the TFLOPS performance but nothing concrete.
From what has been talked about, it looks to be currently 1.23TFLOPS on Xbox One vs. 1.84TFLOPS on PS4 and a big advantage to PS4 regarding memory bandwidth due to simplicity on utilising it and having more speed. It wouldn't take much for Sony it seems to have double the GPU performance on raw hardware level as a slightly downclocked 7870 would be enough. Would look good for marketing and games if they have something like that in plan but given they already have a big advantage, they might not bother.

Doesn't make it fact though. Not all of the rumours about the Xbox were true, nobody even got it's name right for a start. Still even if that were true your statement of PS4 "looking a generation better" is just ridiculous.
