Doesn't make it fact though. Not all of the rumours about the Xbox were true, nobody even got it's name right for a start. Still even if that were true your statement of PS4 "looking a generation better" is just ridiculous.
Well what Microsoft has said about it technically after announcement matches to what has been leaked. The names were just guesses, the hardware leaks have detailed documentation which all align to what has been announced so far. Sure changes can be made still though and final clock speeds will have an impact on how big difference will be.

It will be all in the small details that will all add up and give it the look of being a generation better, whether if double FPS or "Wow" levels of detail / effects.

All right thanks.

Well I guess we'll have to see. But it's quite interesting to see that sony went for a 60fps but 720p gaming while Microsoft went for a 30fps but 1080p gaming.

It will be interesting to see what the people prefer, a slighty worst resolution but running better or a better resolution but running a bit slower.

The rumors of RYSE being scrapped for the X360 were accurate.

Sidenote: Kotaku has a list of what JP gamers thought of Xbox One and the presentation. One message summed up what MS should've and could've done, but didn't, and that was.....

"Put together a presentation for gamers."

I haven't heard anything about Sony going for 720p gaming. Most games should be either 1080p 30FPS or 1080p 60FPS, same should be true regarding the Xbox One.

This is not true. Developers can and will decide by themselves if they want 30fps or 60fps in combination of 720 or 1080 resolution. Even 60fps at 1080 is no problem if they just want to, definitely not.

If the xbox really is gpu-wise that much weaker, I'd expect all multiplatform titles to run clearly and noticeably better on the ps4.

Wait for E3 I guess

EDIT: Too many doubleposts in last time. :ouch:

If I remember right, when BF4 was announced rumor was saying that it's going to be on 720p 60 fps on PS4.

I guess we dont know until we actually see some game running. But it wouldnt surprise me that some multiplatform game will need to be in 720p to run smoothly.

How do you know that, do you have a developpement kit for the ps4 ? So far everything is speculation on how games will run.

That was regarding both consoles and it was someone who made it up and owned up to it. I doubt developers would be aiming for 720p, 1080p should be minimum target. It will be interesting to see though, what will be done for lower resolutions which will most likely be still supported.

What? Are you serious?

You don't really think Sony limits the resolution to 720, tell me you don't...

Because otherwise:

What if your friend connect before you and you can't access because he is still online and maybe he want to play for 3 or 4 hours. LOL
I don't see it working very well.

Why, because he is using a piece of software that he doesn't physically own and hasn't purchased? Remind me again, what's the definition of piracy?

I never said something about Sony. But you're saying that developpers will choose and I dont agree with it. It's the hardware that's gonna dictate what can be run at what resolution. Let's say in 2 years, when high end gamer will have gtx titan like card in their computer and game will be released optimized for that kind of power, do you think that the ps4 will be able to run those game in 1080p 60fps even if a developpers want it ? I'm not so sure honestly. But I can be wrong, I have no experience in developpement or optimization of game for another platform.

Did you ever play a multiplatform (pc and console in this case) console game?

I doubt it.

Didn't they say 4K resolution was possible on these? So I doubt 720p will be on any game unless the game developer chooses to run 720p for some reason other than hardware restriction.

Scalability.

Like going from 480 to 720 with PS3 games, for example.

Did you read all my post?

@SimonK, Ahh ok, just thought they were implying that when they demonstrated GT5 with 4k resolution. Like it will be the expected in the next gen consoles or something.

1080p will be the max for gaming so I'm pretty sure some will drop to 720p if they want a lot of eye candy, sure. Many current gen games are actually below 1280x720.

well here's the story

Almost identical as expected.
Good News: Every Xbox One multiplayer game to get dedicated servers

Suddenly paying for Xbox Live is back on the table for me

Now THAT would be incredible and truly would help justify the cost even more for xboxlive. Dedicated servers for every single xbox one game would be a massive leap forward. Currently there are only a couple games that have dedicated servers like BF3.
On a side note, we still don't know if PSN is going to be free on the PS4. If it is free AND has dedicated servers, that would be shocking. But if it is free, I bet it doesn't have dedicated servers like the Xbox One.

I am still hoping the drop the "one" off of Xbox One at E3. That is such a terrible name.

Doesn't seem too impressive, the only good thing about the next gen consoles it seems will be that they are closer to a PC, so maybe they won't have to do such a terrible job porting games to PC in future. Wishful thinking I know.

I'm very sure the regular PSN service will be free. But maybe they're going to expand the PSN plus service and start to include features similar to xbox live. Who knows...

What's the CPU specs?
Octo-core X86 CPU
Clock and architecture is based on nothing than rumors.

That's what I am expecting. A free service and a paid service.

There are 2 possibilities of what the PS4 will do at this point.
1. Keep free online and NO dedicated servers.
2. Dedicated servers BUT you pay for the online service.

There is NO way Sony is going to have dedicated servers for free.

I spend 99% of my time online gaming on the 360 and I cant even tell you how great this news is about the Xbox One having dedicated servers. Those that have played on dedicated servers know exactly how exciting this is. I honestly did not see this coming. Some of the best news I have heard in all my years of gaming. This is truly a miracle.

Not all specs in that chart are confirmed though.

Does anybody else struggle to see the sense of the HMDI input? Sure, you can switch between game and TV, but heck, I need nearly no time to press the source or input button on my remote control. And it's not as if I were going to switch between TV and game a hundred times per hour.

But maybe we can use the XBOX as recorder? I mean HDMI input + HDD...
