Can anybody tell me what the 2nd/3rd from the right is?

I have no idea what the 3rd on is (I thought it was an e-SATA port but it does not look like one) but the 2nd one is the Kinect connector.

EDIT:I have it wrong but I don't know the angle of the pic makes it hard to see. Mr.Latte's pic shows it.

So I am way behind today, and am just now watching the reveal. I was sold in the first 10 minutes. Annoyingly however, his instructions to the kinect are telling my own kinect what to do, and it's exited the video about 3 times.

Yeah IR OUT.

With this being a worldwide product and to control TV etc it will likely have to emulate IR remote controls for satellite or PVR boxes.

I would assume at this point via voice you will be able to say "Sky Sports 2" and the X1 will output an RF signal to act as a remote control selecting that channel for you.

Already showing the innards?

I like where this is going. Also, holy hell the size of the HSF.

IR Out, Kinect. The IR is there because the xbox will act as a passthrough for your cable/satellite box. It enables control of your TV service through Kinect gestures or voice commands.

Also:

Am I the only one questioning why the USB ports are on the back? I can't really see the logic and the practicality in it.

I find it odd that everyone is freaking out about the whole used games thing, when there's a very easy way that MS could have solved it.

You may opt to unlink your game from your account at any time.

Consider that they're having games install to the HD and start up WITHOUT the disc in the drive. Which is great. But if you don't lock to an account, you're basically saying "please pirate me".

On the other hand, if they make sure that each disc is only linked to a single account at a time, and allow you to remove a game from an account whenever you want then there's no problem. There can only ever be one copy of a game linked to an account per disc sold. But you can sell your disc to whoever you like, along with the license.

Additional bonus: it works as DRM against burned copies and the like.

Problem: There needs to be an easy way to check if discs have their license free. Used game dealers would need to prove that a game has a free license before they could sell them. Not insurmountable at all, a simple display when you pop the disc in would suffice. Have the seller show you on their Box that the license is available before you give them money.

Thought this was quite funny, another youtube rant!

I think people like him will still get one.

E3 they'll be won round I'm sure or say six months down the line. I think the core features will sink in, the gaming and video stream to your mates on a decent cam is pretty good and all slickly intergrated. I'm sure the so called hardcore halo cod players he talks about will be singing the praises.

The used game rage will die out.

EDIT:

A summery of the conference condensed into a few minutes for those who missed it.

If the PS4 requires no fee for Used Games & the rumored insane sized HDD is true then that pretty much makes them win the console war since the consoles seem to have the "same" performance on paper.

PS. The used game rage will never die out. The Online Pass rage never died & it made EA kill it. Surprised money whoring M$ didn't realize it would be a very bad idea.

Actually, it sounds just like the PS4. Companies seem to think I want to do everything but play games on my game system.

Brb, pulling my Super Nintendo out the closet. No loading times, no Networked Accounts, no installations, no DRM, no fees other than the price of the cartidge.
