My opinion on this is if they were going to work M$, Turn 10 or Fanatec one would be all over the sim racing fourms saying you have nothing to worry about your wheels will work fine. With not one of them saying a word I dont think its lookin to good. I dont see M$ making special provisions for wheel users. Its just not a big enough share of the pie for them. That leaves Turn 10 and Fanatecs hands pretty much tied as far as the old wheels go.

Most probably they will sort it out, just like most of the issues the new console will supposedly have. The "pandora box of hate" cannot continue up to launch date.

Sure they will let you trade your games in, but only to their aproved places and at the price M$ see fit, not the market.

Yes M$ want to spy on you. Look at the patents they have filed for with the x1.

What I do in my livingroom is my business. Thats the whole point of this debate.

My cellphone does what I expect it to do send info I tell it to. The x1 seems to send whatever info it (or M$) see fit.

By all means go ahead and put one in your house. I just aint puttin one in mine.

All online devices spy on you, no matter the company behind them.

As for what I was going to post on Friday (refresh rates), for some reason the website is down right when I remembered about this. But anyone with a good screen can try it by himself: play any 30, 60fps or 125 game on your pc, using 30hz, then 60, then 120 or more. It gets better with each increase, and it has to be said some precise values are better than others due to tearing and whatnot, plus there's an interaction with the hz of the device used for playing, the game's physics, etc.; but in simple terms more hz is better.
And don't test it with vsync, because of frame syncing and it introduces input lag even with triple buffering.

Man Microsoft opened up a Pandora Box of hate.

No, they didnt. Impatient gaming "journalists" and bad/wrong rumours did this.

These guys at gametrailers or other sites really went berserk with their comments and judging of the "console" release. They fill up the internet with their unrealistic expectations and give Microsoft a bad reputation for nothing.

It is really not funny anymore. I dont care for people that hate the xbox or things like "xbox done". But when the reputation of a company gets hurt by false rumours and the press make it even worse, then it is not a game of some "fanboys" anymore.

The only reason that Microsoft is doing nothing, must be the fact that they think that E3 will bring a really big change to the minds and hearts of those who are wrong now. And I also expect some extremely good content there.

Yeah, Microsoft is not about gaming anymore. What an utterly stupid arguement. Their first party studios brought us series like Halo, Gears of War, PGR, Forza Motorsport, Horizon, Fable and more. Plus dont forget the exclusive content they try to get for the xbox players.

Who thinks that they left the gamer out of their xbox one road map are very very wrong. :sly:

Which rumors were false?

Charging full price for license codes?

That wasn't false, and that wasn't a rumor. That came directly out of the mouth of Phil Harrison himself. That Microsoft has since flipped around and said "hey, wait a minute, we aren't sure what we're going to do yet, let him clarify what he really meant" and are now under constant scrutiny after the interview spread like wildfire isn't the fault of the people who spread the interview. They can't be expected to report the true meaning of his words when he doesn't say them until the 2nd and 3rd followup interview; and the hit to their reputation from the head of the division going around giving bad information on hot-button topics is entirely their fault.

Doesn't matter what the exact rumors are, but the simple fact that Mi₡£o$$$oft is keeping mum about the whole thing and not just stamping out this bad info if it is indeed bad.

People like jabofu are the only ones willing to give Microsoft credit during all of this when they deserve none because they don't have the shred of integrity necessary to fix all this bad press, which should be easy unless they know how bad their ideas are. That's what's funny.

OK I'm going to make this simple.

Its MS or Microsoft or Sony.

Anything else used for either company will be treated as flame-bait and will see the member using it take a 24 hour holiday.

This, is what I find shocking. I usually say it in my mind to those people "can they just stop and open their eyes already?..."

Well I don't even know where to start with this thread but overall lets just hope they fixed all their issues with the last model they put out.

I'm sure it will be priced out of what I'm willing to pay these days but one can only hope.

Just jaw dropping, mind numbing. Can't believe this.

I think that there will be a lot of "lesser evil" stuff going on with these new consoles. Some companies will push and push, then pull back a touch for the final result, leaving many feeling that there is a happy compromise reached, when what they actually have is something that they would have riled against had the proposed/rumoured situation not been tabled.

The way it's being used now? Yeah, it's an issue.

If you can't express yourself without using inane pejoratives, don't comment.

I am really split on the subject of pre-owned games. On the one hand, if I were to buy a pre-owned game for say, £10-£15 less whilst there are brand new copies in the same store with the money of said purchase going to the retailer. Why should developers, publishers and console manufacturers put up with this? Its basically money leaving the industry, money that could fund better games or just keep people in employment.

On the other hand is the obvious argument about ownership and value displayed by most other people everywhere on the internet.

The decision would be black and white for the publisher, also black and white for the consumer. But it's a fine line to tread for the console manufacturer.

Could have done with this when stance with Delaystation, Polyphoney Digital or most recently (sub)standard cars is/was branded about. But no, not a whisper....

Well we can't be everywhere at once.

If it's still a problem, report them and it'll be taken care of. 👍

I did not then or will not report someone now because I don't really have a problem with it as I see it as a freedom of speech. Just pointing out what looked like a double standard. But since the line has been drawn here so to speak, by yourself and Scaff, I'm just making sure we can expect there to be consistency across the board from now on.

Post reported, because this is the biggest crock on nonsense I've ever seen on ANY forum.

You should be ashamed of your$elf.

What was wrong with the online pass in the first place? I never understood the hatred for it. If you buy a new game, you can access all the content. Buy a used game and you have to pay a little extra to unlock some of the content. From what we've heard about the Xbox one, (and that info came from MS themselves) they will be introducing new systems (such as the requirement to connect to the Internet once per day) in order to verify that you aren't using a second hand game. It seems like an overly complex solution when the online pass thing worked fine in the first place.

I would think a mod would act a little more professional than that.

I don't even...

Hold on, let me put my scaredy-cat britches on. :scared:

I'm "sorry" but you're going to defend a corporation from a non-offensive public opinion when they want to PUT A SURVEILLANCE DEVICE IN YOUR HOME to better make money off you as a consumer? This seriously seems OK to you?

Wasn't online pass for online the componant/multiplayer?

This new way will be possible for any offline game

Because there was never any justification for why you had to pay that little extra in the first place, aside from publishers wanting a cut of secondhand sales.
