Is Titan fall an Xbone exclusive? An EA exclusive game, what's going in here.

Think so, dumb move by EA IMO.

Were the rumors true about Microsoft bribing third-party developers on not showing games on the Sony conference.

Personally, I don't think I'll be getting either, most of the PS4 and Xbox One games feel like "Must have Online Play for the full experience", to me and if I had the money for Xbox Live or Playsyation Plus, I wouldn't get it, instead I would get a new game which will last longer.

Well yeah, though with PSN Plus you do get a lot of free games. Value of those games and content is magnitudes higher than the subscription price.

For me if Sony were charging just to play online I don't probably wouldn't bother or if I did it would be sporadic depending on game releases (future GT and GTA releases), however because it is part of PSN plus (which is a great service IMO) it doesn't bother me. I do understand it may bother others though.

Xboxlive is giving away 2 free games every month now starting yesterday for anyone with gold. Similar to Playstation+.

Also it is confirmed that you WILL have to for playstation + if you want to play the PS4 online. Which is $59.99 a year. The price of the PS4 also does not include the eye. So while the PS4 initial price sounds good at first, by the time you add everything up, its about the exact same price as the X1.

If the PS4 does not have dedicated servers then I am going with the X1 next gen. Especially since playstation online is no longer free.

It's also been confirmed that you need live gold to use Netflix etc etc on Xbox but PS+ is solely to play mp so even if you don't get it you can still use Netflix/Flixster

The PS4 does not need a mandatory 'eye' to function.

I have not saw anything on this. How do you get these free games?

Yes it does look like you will need + to play multiplayer online but there is much more you can do without + than with XBL silver, such as NetFlix.

The PS Eye does not interest me so I will not be getting it and if XBox would give the option to not have the Kinect then I would not buy that either but they are forcing you to pay the extra money for the Kinect.

Go with whatever you want. I will be sticking with the PS3 and 360 for now but of the 2 consoles the PS4 seems the most appealing and the best value.

Edit: Found some info on the free games and it looks like it starts next month and is only for a limited time
Announced earlier by Microsoft during its E3 conference, Xbox Live Gold members will be getting two free games per month starting July 1, up to the release of the Xbox One. The first two free games will be Assassin's Creed 2 and Halo 3. Sounds like Microsoft wants to combat Sony's PS+ with its own free offerings.

Neither game interests me at all so it basically adds no value for me. Maybe one of the following months but I will not hold my breath.
Meanwhile PS+ mentioned Driveclub as a freebie which does interest me a bit but not enough to buy a PS4

And if you don't want to play the PS4 online, none of the other features are hidden behind the paywall. It's also $59.99 a year on the Xbone, so that's not something that closes the gap because you're assuming sales will continue.

The price of the PS4 also does not include the eye.
Which is a good thing, because you don't need it and Sony isn't forcing it on you.

No. By the time you add everything up that you need it is still $100 less than the Xbone; but if you add the not-mandatory-camera the system is still $40 cheaper.

That's an empty promise. Clear as water for anyone that has experience playing pc games.

1.- Dedicated servers are all about location. Lag mainly revolves around the distance between the player and the server. There's absolutely no way the Xbox One will cover the US with enough dedicated servers for each game, let alone worldwide. On that matter, isn't it funny that the whole presentation and console itself revolves around the US but forgets where practically half 360's sales came from?

2.- Reliability and support issues. If the server is down, whether temporarily or permanently (lets say two years from release), does that mean I cannot play online?. If the server is laggy, for example with PL, do I have to have an awful online playing experience?
Maintaining good and lots of dedicated servers is very, very expensive and it requires people to be in constant charge of them. Do not think there will be a good dedicated server near your location nor that they will stay forever.

3.- Connection and ISP problems. 10 years ago this didn't matter much, but nowadays companies do not prioritize online gaming, thus there will be issues with certain internet providers and certain server locations. What that means is if your ISP gets 150 ping to a server that's right next door (yep, welcome to 2013's routing) then you have no choice but to play on a server that's thousands of miles away from you, therefore no choice but to play with 150 ping or more.

4.- Back to finding servers manually once again, whether the console still features p2p gaming as an option or not. Not the greatest idea on this day and age, though an alternative is addressed at 6.- specifically for dedicated servers.

5.- Practically all PC games that support dedicated servers have them, uploaded by players (individuals) and not by the game's developer (unless certain exceptions on this last note). Problem on unpopular ones is described on 1.-.
That means it's not a 'rare' thing on PCs (I can find servers in games games that are older than lots of GTP users, in any location in the world), nor a 'revolution beyond incredible' (way too farfetched), though you have to search for them (IPs). This also adds a second point, now applicable to this case: the announced Xbox One dedicated servers will be uploaded by microsoft, considering there's no way they will take the risk of enabling people or game devs to upload their own, for various reasons such as quality of service and expenses.

6.- Games have to be made taking into account dedicated servers, otherwise it'll end up in having lots of them empty due to how manually searching for IPs work (players way too spread and people don't join empty servers). Think of this as how black ops 2 does it in p2p's case, which is very well made but requires developers spending lots of time and money to implement it.

7.- In the end what I want to say is p2p will continue to be the standard on the Xbox One. Simple as that, to the point I can assure you they will still feature p2p gaming and that p2p gaming is optimal for console gaming in 2013 up to the next gen (ps5). If they were so sure they would remove it entirely, for the so called superior alternative that consists of dedicated servers uploaded and controlled by one company. As for the second affirmation, actually I barely touched some of the issues, because I could think of twice more as crucial as the mentioned ones.

If you feel the dedi servers is the thing that you will buy the Xbone for, by all means do so. But stop continuing to present them as something they are not.

I don't know what PS eye and PS4 price has to do with my post. However I am glad I don't have to pay extra for the camera to use my console, as I don't want one.

I will say though I didn't realise I made my post in the Xbox thread, I was switching between threads so much I thought it was in the PS4 thread, as my post was really just Playstation related and not a PS vs Xbox themed post at all. My bad.

Microsoft conference actually had some great exclusive games in it, the problem was Sony crushed them at the end of their conference, as it stands though, I think Microsoft should be getting a little more credit for sticking to their promise of having lots of games at E3. Ryse, Dead Rising 3, sunset overdrive all look awesome.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. His demeanor was that of a person who is disconnected from anyone who doesn't have an Xbox Live Gold membership already..

The guy who lives on a submarine is not the demographic...

I agree with you about his demeanor. We all know that it's difficult to please everyone, but I believe if they changed their "always online/once every 24hr for 1hr" policy that would make a lot of people happy. Although the Submariner isn't the demographic, he is still a part of a fan base that should be kept into consideration. Having served in the Military, I know from firsthand experience just how scarce internet access is in the desert. A lot of guys (including myself) brought their consoles on deployments with them. Heck, I purchased my first 360 at the BX trailer we had in the desert. To essentially be locked out of your console because your console wasn't able to "check-in" is completely ridiculous. Nobody wants to be that selfish to take up so much bandwidth and prevent their fellow comrades from being able to enjoy a few minutes of communicating with their families back home.
