Don Mattrick is the new Ken Kutaragi. Microsoft will look for a scapegoat. I dont expect Mattrick to be employed very long after launch, even though he echoes the same attitude of other Microsoft employees like Adam Orth

And yeah, a serviceman in a submarine is just one of their problems. My sister lives 3 miles outside the downtown of a city of 40,000, but because shes in a new neighborhood there isnt any internet access out there with none expected any time soon. All those people living out there have no internet, so no Xbox One.

I'm honestly indifferent of the XB1 despite the fact of the DRM.

I barely buy used games.
I use my console often.
I'm connected to the internet constantly unless the bill isn't paid for my ISP.
I don't loan my games to people much, even though I still can do that on the XB1.
$500 isn't bad. Kinect looks awesome and it has many new features that can be taken advantage.
Cloud is pretty cool once you take the time to look into it.
You can cross chat with people from the Xbox 360.
The Xbox One has the exclusives I want.

I don't think there is one thing that I really hate about it besides the payed online interaction. I don't use the extra features of the current Xbox so there won't be much I will be missing out on if I don't pay for my Xbox Live subscription. There won't be a problem with that since I may have a job to pay for it most of the time soon.

I don't like DRM, but it will be inevitable on all consoles.

I do not buy many used games but sometimes I will pick up a few cheap ones and play them for a while.
I use my console often as well
I am constantly connected to the internet unless my service goes down which is rare but does happen.
I do sometimes loan a game to my brother and would rather not have any hassle doing so.
$500 is to much, They should have left out the Kinect rather than trying to force me to buy and use it as I do not need it nor do I want it and will not buy games that require this type of input device.
Cloud can be cool

In General I do not like the price. I do not like the kinect and definitely do not want it online and then of course there is that little issue with no hardware support which is a huge deal breaker for many of us as if the privacy issues weren't enough.

Do they have any idea how bad they sound

It almost feels like they are in no way self-aware of what's going on.

Also, heard a rumor that Microsoft payed some third party devs not to show the PS4 versions of their games either at the conference or on the E3 showfloor. Any truth to that?

I just read somewhere that XBOX One will not work without Kinect 2 plugged in? Is this true? :yuck:

I assume that's a joke since people are saying basicslly anything normal and it won't work. One thing I do wonder is can you play games sitting down? The camera last time was all about standing and having to be certain distances away. I would really not wanna have to stand to play most games.

A joke? No it's confirmed.

I await the nuclear sub sku in 2015

.... but I believe if they changed their "always online/once every 24hr for 1hr" policy that would make a lot of people happy. Although the Submariner isn't the demographic, he is still a part of a fan base that should be kept into consideration. Having served in the Military, I know from firsthand experience just how scarce internet access is in the desert.... To essentially be locked out of your console because your console wasn't able to "check-in" is completely ridiculous.

You do realise that it has been said by MS that any actively serving military personal will be exempt from the 24 log-in? I don't know how they are intending to do that, possibly some checksummed code or small patch to download.

Next time everyone will be asking for exemption, then MS will ask for compensation for such exemption ... Sounds like a plot of evil company

I don't like DRM, but it will be inevitable on all consoles.

It's only inevitable when people like you support it. You're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem. And the rest of us will suffer because of the people who refuse do fight back when basic rights are taken away from them.

"We have a product for people who aren't able to get some form of connectivity; it's called Xbox 360"

wow, just wow

I mean, apart from the major cockup that is the XBone strategy, they're really shooting themselves in the foot with how they're presenting it.

I mean, is it possible to have a worse spokesman than that guy? He just comes across as a snake oil salesman.

And here comes Microsoft again....

"Fortunately we have a product for people who aren't able to get some form of connectivity; it’s called Xbox 360,” said Mattrick."

"It’s a service-based world, if you think about things and how they get better with an internet connection, that’s a design choice we’ve made. I think people will appreciate it... We did a lot of testing, a lot of consumer research and I think we made a good choice."

Well, Thats a harsh choice for Microsoft...

You will not be forced to stand to play the Xbox One.

Dunno. The way they're going they might require you to stand and recite the Pledge of Allegiance each day before you can play.

Good idea Famine.
They could have an education version too for accounts under 18.
Whenever the console starts the user will get random exercises before they can start a game.
And if the camera sees that you're a bit 'big', you have to through a physical exercise first.
All for the betterment of the motherfatherland. :P

Well just in case, no more sex in the livingroom and gaming while drinking beer, other than that its a day one purchase for me (NOT)

I wonder if XBOX TOO (<-- creative, not?) comes with a slot.

So if you start the machine with your command "My beloved XBOX TOO, would you please start?"
Machine says: "Shut the **** up and insert coin."

(Of course you have to pay for service to empty your XBOX TOO money box.)

In Italy I hear that you have to get written permission from Berlusconi (Yes he still runs things) and La Papa (Pope) haha

The only few main reasons I was interested in the X1 is because of the exclusives like Halo, Gears Of War, Crackdown, and Forza.

After hearing the bad news about Forza 5 not having night racing or weather, I don't see myself buying the X1 at launch. Not that I would have anyway, but now I really don't have a reason to. Very upset about their terrible decision to leave out weather and night racing. Also since all cars are in Autovista, I have a very bad feeling the amount of cars in F5 will be less than the cars in F4. :ouch:
