---------------------------------------------------

I hope you enjoy the update! This will likely be the last update for quite a while, as this career was pretty feature complete from the initial release, and this update beefs up the leagues which were lacking in events.

The main leagues will likely not ever have new events added, as to not impede in-progress playthroughs, and also to avoid altering the variety and placement balance of the events, which I think is in a good place right now, but most importantly because there are a large amount of them, and I consider the main leagues to be fully complete.

That was the intention before releasing the career, to have that completely done, in terms of number of events. The Seasonal Championships section for the Endurance League may see some additions down the line, but I'm also happy with where that is.

Other leagues, the non-mainline ones, including the new Seasonal Championships sections, will get additions most likely. Not sure how many, definitely another 3-4 at least for the Legend League, and at least a couple more for the Exclusive and Unique Leagues.

More missions will be added over time, probably in the next update, but that update may be a month or two down the line. I have quite a few missions which were cut due to time (self-imposed deadline, but needed it to be productive), they hadn't been tested yet. I'll get to testing them and adding them to the next update.

I'd like to say thanks to everyone for their kind words and to those who played/are playing, I hope you enjoyed and are enjoying it!

Another shoutout to @pritchyTim for his feedback and suggestions throughout development, and for being a great friend. Always offered his ear, for every detail, whenever I info-dumped. Thank you!

Dude this is awesome, cannot wait to get started on it. Thank you for all your time and effort putting this together.

I think I shall add in a sponsorship section, that way I can follow the decal sponsorships I can add to my vehicles as I progress through the career.

Thank you for the kind words, I hope you enjoy it!

Great idea with the sponsorship section! Feel free to share updates on how your playthrough is going if you want!

Just a small update, in the documents, the ECU percentage for the player’s car in the Formula 1, Super Formula, and Super Formula Shootout events has been adjusted to 92%, and downforce adjustments have been explicitly prohibited to maintain balance. Unfortunately, with the AI not being at full throttle, high downforce hampers them quite a bit. To get a competitive grid with high downforce, I had to set my SF23 to 80% on the ECU.

Halfway through overhauling the Quick Play option - rather than the races being individual with no connective tissue, there will be finishing position objectives for each league and license event, and to progress to the next league, or complete the current one if there is no further progression, you need to finish within a certain position window for a certain number of races out of the total for that league.

If you don’t make it, rather than restarting the whole league, you go back to a dedicated checkpoint - wherein your total number of specified finishing positions/podiums/wins is set to a number where it is still possible to complete the league if you achieve enough top-x finishes/podiums/wins before the end of the league.

This applies to licenses and seasonal championships too, instead you just go back to a point in a specific championship or the beginning of a specific championship in the case of the Endurance League Seasonal Championships, and continue from there, aiming for enough top-x finishes/podiums/wins before the end of the last seasonal championship.

Balance of Performance is also recommended now for Custom Play users if desired, as it saves on setup time and the racing is still good with the variance in car power making up for the throttle issue with the AI quite a good bit. But if you want to still set the grid up yourself, of course there’s no suggestion to do otherwise.

Are there any videos on YouTube that have this custom setup used as GT7 Walkthrough?
  • Classic GT style progression with multiple leagues, each a step up in car performance and race length, all leading into high-level motorsport events. Each league uses a league-long championship system, in which each race counts for points, and a championship runs from the first event in the league, until the end. Whoever has the most points after the final race, wins. A league is much like a long motorsport season, in that sense.
As GT has individual series of race championships, is this something different? Does this sound as only having one event in a league as championship or this'd be rather like FM7's SP system to unlock more events (reaching later phases for here)? Technically GT6's star system was similar.
  • A Manufacturer League heavily inspired by Gran Turismo 4, to give purpose to many cars in the game which can otherwise be passed by for another in the same category, or ignored altogether.
After GT4, they do still have manufacturer event races, but they're combined with all of the other events rather than putting them in the Dealership or Brand Central... like GTS' GT-R Cup or GT7's Jimny Cup.
  • Missions, also inspired by GT4, but the missions themselves are a bit more of a deviation from official games. They're more experimental, but I have tested them to ensure that they are possible. The missions also contain a variety of race series with driver lists and premises that would not fit in the mainline events.
I'd say Mission-wise, GT7 already had GT4-like stuff in its content here with more additions, other than them being one-time rewards.

Hey, thanks for the message. I'm in the middle of revamping this and it will soon have a much more streamlined progression, split into dedicated Motorsport and Classic paths, plus a Hybrid path with both combined similar to how it is now. I'm sort of re-launching it. So if you want to wait until then to jump in, I would recommend it as it would make for a smoother overall playthrough with less to account for.

The championships were races you would track points and positions for within that series only. That's gone in the revamp. Instead there are win targets that you meet in order to complete the league (for example, finish 5th in every race to complete the League). Much quicker and more straightforward to manage from a player's perspective.

There are manufacturer event races indeed, but especially when this career had started development, there were only a few. And even now there aren't many.

Yes, GT7 does have GT4 style missions indeed. Some of the missions I have made are a bit more experimental. Some are GT4/GT7 style, some are different.

Heyy, awesome!! Can't wait to watch! Just a heads up, there will be a revamp of progression coming next week, just if you want to hold off as far as future videos go until then. And three individual career paths. Motorsport focuses primarily on the licence events, Classic removes the licence events and focuses on League events, and Hybrid keeps them both - much like it is now.

Most of the events themselves are the same, it's just a re-ordering based on the path you choose, as well as different progression goals required to complete a league or licence.

The idea was to simplify it as much as possible so there's as little external work for the player to do as possible. The Quick Play/Custom Play option is still there, except that using points systems aren't used anymore in Custom Play, you have to meet the progression target.
