Things You Want To See In GT6 Besides Vehicles and Tracks

I won't troll and say BETTER SOUNDS so I'll just say Qualifying & Standing Starts. It was in GT1 and I can't see a single reason why it isn't in GT6. I like how you could opt to qualify in GT1 and get extra credits. The removal of those two features really pushes the gameplay toward the arcade end of the spectrum which is a shame since they got some great physics going with this latest iteration.

Also as sort of an offshoot of that qualifying/standing start Drag Racing.

EDIT: Sorry folks I meant Standing starts.

I'd like to have the ability to customize races and personally select my opponents like you can in Forza.

It still makes no sense to me to have a racing grid made of random rally cars, 60s muscle cars, and 90s hot hatches.

I would really love to see a track day more like that of practice and qualifying in CM's F1 series.
Make it more of an event.
Start out with the track shots, then cut to some establishing shots of your car in the garage.
Depending on how far you are in your career there could be 1 to say 4 guys milling about in the garage working on your car.
Actually leave the garage when you go out, actually return back to the garage if you aren't just grabbing tires or fuel.
Have it take time away from the track day event to tune your car or upgrade. Returning back to the track at say early evening.

Would be interesting if your career was more set up with a calendar, with such and such days being track day possible events at certain tracks.

Possibly set up the career so as you go to different tracks. That track and other tracks in the area (continent) could be available for you to do testing.

Just some thoughts. But ya mostly a bit more immerse track day.

Would be cool seeing cars drive past you in pit lane while sitting in the pits.

^ xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx wins the race!

Looks like the GT40 in pole position went from first to worst on the start.
They stopped to do this because of car accidents at the start.

Le Mans classic is a special race hold every 2 years. Each team have to bring a car from each historic period (there is 6 times periods). They run laps within 2h30 I think, the team totalling the most laps win the race.

Next one is in may 2014 I think (180 days from now according to the official site).

Old Le Mans starts were even funier :)

Yes but I fear for the reason we don't see it is the reason the stopped it as well... Plus, do you reLly think pd could make the cars line up perfectly like that if we can't even pit in Le Mans in a straight line..?

Run with L2/R2/L2/R2/L2/R2/L2/R2, open the car with L1, start it with R1, go. :) :) :)

X and O to kick the pilot next to you, this could be called GT Advance. Oh wai... :)

Sorta like a mixture of GT, Road Rash and QWOP?

Right on the heels of a discussion about handbrake usage on seasonal time trials my suggestion is a complete overhaul of the brakes in the game.

1. Brakes: Should be realistic, i.e. bite, hold, and fade like they should and not be a limitless supply of prodigious stopping power. Also bias adjustments should not be present in road cars (unless upgraded)
2. Upgrades: Pads, compounds, rotor size, big brake kits, bias adjusters but also hydraulic handbrake upgrades for the Rally/Drift crowd.
3. Handbrakes: only available to the cars that really have them if not disable.

It's probably been said somewhere in the 150+ pages, but...

More 'abundant' options for Engine upgrades, rather than a simplified (and dumbed-down) "Stage 1, 2, & 3", let me choose how-much of a engine displacement-increase I want, let me choose the cam-shaft profile(s), let me tweak the fuel & boost maps, as well as what fuel I want to run (e85 vs gas, meth-injection vs NOS, etc)

I like technicality, I like precision, for being all about realism & such, PD are really dropping the ball on true vehicle customization and tuning.

Also, was going through the OP list of things, and couldn't help but find myself constantly saying-

"We probably lost that feature due to PD's new star-porn fetish "

I'd like that, but I'd also want to keep the packages together for the sake of time when upgrading. A lot of things I wish I could choose individual and then some with just packages

  1. STANDING STARTS!
  2. MORE RACES!
  3. Qualifying for career mode
  4. MORE RACES!!
  5. Advanced quick menu with race event selection (category a, iB, S etc) and oil change/wash car.
  6. MORE RACES!!!
  7. No pointless animation when changing oil, or improving rigidity - car wash before/after is understandable.
  8. MORE RACES...
  9. Rigidity and engine overhaul should be in settings/tuning menus and should not cost 500,000cr for any car#
  10. ...MORE RACES

I actually hadn't thought of that aspect, I suppose "packages" do speed-up the process for event-only vehicles, but for personal project-cars I still would prefer that 'touch' of unique customization 👍

In-game music player like on dare I say - PGR on Xbox 360...

or simply on the pause menu like on Wipeout HD

I would dearly love this to be added

I'd like a garage area where you could walk around your cars in 3D and in first person. You could then put pictures up on the walls which were taken in game or view trophies won from events and online leaderboards.

If anyone has played Sega GT 2002 or Sega GT Online, you will know kinda what I mean.
