Things You Want To See In GT7 Besides Vehicles & Tracks

Better looking maybe, but better performing than PCars?...not a chance.

Particle effects are very resource intensive, and if PD wants to step the game up in visuals on PS4 beyond it's rivals, something might have to give a little to make that happen. Project Cars physics + DriveClub details + 1080p/60fps + 45 cars on track isn't going to happen. More enhanced and detailed particle effects could cost you cars on the grid for example if you want a smooth, stable frame rate which I think everyone is expecting on the PS4.

PD to step up the game up in visuals?

This is PD not Pcars.

Pcars/SMS had to step up like everyone else within this genre (I keep repeating this point), that's why SMS could hold a candle. Polyphony are at the forefront, most gamers know this by the awards they achieve.

^^ Awards are all due to fancy marketing, collateral and collaborations.

GT's main gameplay is it's weakest link. They're focusing on everything else BUT the core gameplay.

To me, as a gamer, awards don't mean diddley squat. I want the CORE gameplay to be a solid winner.

Just a minor thing but I would like to see low pp cars to last a bit longer in career mode, or have them recurring. Now in GT6 with each unlocked licence the pp limit for cars seem to get higher and higher. That's really sad since I like classic and normal cars more than race cars. And I even like them most in their bone stock version so they just fall out of the boat in so many events. So it would be nice to have some more high end licence events for classics and normal road cars instead of only race cars and super cars.

Can this be repeated anymore though? So much win in one post lol.

@breyzipp

Orrrrrr.........we could just go back to GT1-GT4(don't know 2 and 1 systems) way of thinking and just have the regular barriers of entry it worked great back then at least for GT3 it did. Cause I know at one point in GT4 I had a custom 350z I forget which one, but I was just blasting through competition without a care in the world how I was doing it.

Well I like diversity so I sure don't mind needing to change cars often to progress through the career mode. And unlike what Project Cars devs might think, I really like this "zero to hero" approach as well where you start out small with weak cars and little credits and you grow bigger and bigger as you progress through the game. I played a lot of MMORPGs where you needed to build up your character so I guess that's why. :P But I find it sad that towards international B & A and the super licences about 50% or more of the cars are just useless. There should be some low PP requirement races in those licences as well.

And also, if a series is called GT3, GT300 and GT500, make sure only the qualified cars can enter. It's just silly that you can blast through them with any overpowered race car. The same goes for the endurance races in the super series, I really love the idea behind it, how you need to change tires and pit to refuel. But you can just grab a LLC Rocket and blast through it all without even pitting once, it's a real pity. All those special cars like the Rocket, the X-bows, the formula and Red Bull cars, they should not be able to make the game too easy in series that are ment for GT cars. And those kart races, personally I didn't like them much since they were so hard, maybe they could be lowered in difficulty a bit.

GT is built on the whole "zero to hero" concept, the problem with it is, the game economy has never adapted to simultaneously accomodate someone who want's to go zero to hero while building a career and car stable with limited funds and build a garage quickly to race online, or someone who just wants to race online and drive and tune cars. I really hope GT addresses this glaring shortfall in the next edition for those of us that have no interest in the zero to hero concept but still want to race cars online and tune them to our personal preference without having to slog through dozens of hours of offline play we have no interest in.

Well back in those days(at least at the time not so sure now) In GT3 I don't remember being able to blast over the competition if I not mistaken think the A.I was tougher, but then again looking back the car list being so small they actually got it right too. I mean the fastest cars I remember in the game were the Toyota GT-1 and Nissan R39P or whatever it was called(been awhile since I've played a GT game now).

Cause what you're after would have been GT3 in a partial nutshell. The Zero to Hero etc.

@Johnnypenso

Well that's putting it one way lol.

Some of the requests here are ridiculous. Anyone care to explain WHY on earth would you want turning signal lights IN A STRICTLY RACING GAME? A RACING SIM as it says?
Or driving without helmet with everyday clothes... ON CLOSED ROADS?
If you want a game to chill out drive slowly etc get Test Drive Unlimited or Forza Horizon :D

All I could ask for is more classic and maybe not so popular cars turned to premium, like Nissan 180/200/240 sx s13/14 Toyota Supra, Celica GT-Four(Not rally car), perhaps more estate cars.
New sound specific to particular engine unit, a V-engine, Boxer, Rotary, 4 cylinder, 6 cylinder and some proper exhaust sounds.
Proper rally races with a co-driver on very tight and narrow tracks.
More photomode locations like lets say the ones from GT5 GT6 and new ones!

I don't know a car game today that lets you race offline with a full field of low PP cars all the way through(a 24 hours of LeMons would be cool). Sure, in GT6 you can take an AE86 and "race" in the 24min Spa.

In real life, I may have only one car as my daily driver. It's my track day car, family ambulance, family taxi and family Greyhound bus. The Real Driving Simulator should have the option to use one car from start to finish and replayability. Offline.

Hey it's just a thought and honestly it's a harmless one, and to even say that request is out of line while we just forget that the Moon missions exist. Heck at least his has to do with cars on earth though. :sly:

A free historic car giveaway sometime before you get to the actual event. Like a Chapparal 2J or Ferrari 330 P4 so you don't have to grind for 20m Cr.

Or better, reduce the pp of it so a lot more classic racing cars are viable instead of it being a 3-car show.

GT calls is a "driving simulator" not a racing simulator, and we use our turn signals while driving...just sayin' :sly:.

Leaderboards. Many sims and Forza have leaderboards. I have just discovered live timing leaderboards in [another game] and it's glorious. I would love to see this in GT7!

You do know real race drivers use turn signals to indicate what side to pass? If a driver is slower than race traffic, that driver will indicate what side passing drivers should pass or what side the slower driver is pulling over. It's common use in TOURING and GT cars.

1. Better AI that actually challenge you on track and that make errors as well.
2. Better custom car features EG: real life body kits, better wheel choice
3. Free roam replays
4. Better Avatar features + Female Avatars (we girls race as well)
5. Proper sounds
6. Better pit crew features like radio messages.
7. Real car failures
8. maybe add a home you can custom for your avatar with photo mode? :D

How is this ridiculous, we know that gt7 is a pure racing sim but sometimes u just want to have fun while racing

pro drivers uses signal in emergencies say ur driving and the cars in front get into accident then u will turn ur signals on to let the driver behind know what's goin on this will come in handy especially when driving in rain with low visibility. Plus it's cool and unique to implement this into a game something new

Samm, first of all, welcome to the community! I see you're new here; if you have any questions, just ask me. Secondly, I just wanted to point out that while you're here you're expected to use decent spelling, punctuation and grammar. It's in the Acceptable Use Policy you accepted when signing up (second item in the list). I'm not a moderator, but the moderators here can be really stingy about that. Just a heads-up. :)

Anyway, don't let this post derail the conversation. Just here to give Samm a bit of a tip.

Alright it's useful, but would we really want then to focus on minor details like that instead of real things? :)
I've used blinkers alot in TDU2 because you had an open world there, but here, I doubt if ever did, only if the game required me to. That's a feature for hardcore players I guess :mischievous:

Well, from what I know I don't think this concept require a lot work, if you notice in other games like FH2 and GTA4 and 5 the AI uses the signal when turning, but what I don't understand Is why the player is restricted from this.but again I could be wrong maybe this feature is intesive on the system, just like the smoke in GT6 notice you can't see it in the rear view mirrors

Signals offline wouldn't make much a difference. BUT, photo mode, online league racing, online cruising, even lapped AI could use it. Could be an added feature like flashing headlights(that's a whole other discussion about the affects of flashing lights offline).

I suppose for offline they could add in the ability for the AI to detect that you're signalling and back off. Heck, maybe they could even make it where there would be a random chance of an AI pulling off the track and pushing you to a safe place if you're broken down? :P

I know the AI, sound and career need a lot of work and all and I know that's what everyone is mainly saying. It's true though those things need huge improvements. But something I wanna see in GT7 that I think that would be cool is when you sell a car it can go to the online dealership. I didn't really get the whole online dealership in gt5. It seem like the same thing as the regular dealership except the prices for the cars was higher. But anyway when you sell a car in GT7 you should have the option of do you wanna just sell it the old fashion way or sell it to the online dealership. And when you click yes you can set a price point maybe put a description of the car. Like maybe you'll say that it was your top 500 pp car and etc or whatever. And when u sell that car, whatever color it is and etc that's how it will appear when it's in the online dealership. It would show mileage the user that use to own the vehicle and the price and the description that someone put for that car. :) Also when you go into the online dealership you can have a search option for the user and car so that way it make things a little easier. And finally when someone buys your car you would get a notification saying that "this user (whatever their PSN ID is) has brought your car (whatever car or cars you was selling). Then it will say here's (for example) $50,000. I think this would be cool to have in GT7. I doubt that it would be in GT7 though :( But what do you guys think of this idea though? I hope you like it:gtpflag:

That's brilliant actually. Instead of getting ripped off buying a car for 50k an then having to sell it back to PD for 1/4 that price like in previous games, you put it online with a price you think you can get for it, and someone else can buy it for your asking price or make an offer and you can choose to accept or not. Could include all your mods and upgrades, hopefully with the option for the buyer of removing any and all upgrades if they choose to do so. I love it:cheers:

Thanks. I'm glad you like the idea but like I said I highly doubt it makes it to GT7:(

Seasonal changes is something I've been thinking about too. Some gravel tracks could become snow tracks in winter, and you could have occasional snow weather them in autumn or spring. In spring, tracks that usually were covered in snow could be partially muddy from the now melted snow that used to cover them (and yes we need more goddamn rally events). Track temperatures would naturally also be affected, even if it wasn't snowing or directly affecting the track surface.

Apart from weather though, this would mostly be a graphics-related addition. It would probably take some time to create seasonal versions of the tracks, but in return, the perceived variety in tracks would certainly increase. It would also be cool, although a minor feature, if the game's career mode followed an internal calendar, where the events you participated in would gradually change from taking place in spring, then summer, autumn and winter.
