Things you would like to see in GT5 other than cars?

I have played a lot of the game using the b-spec driver and just today used it to finish the 24 hour endurance race at Circuit de la Sarthe II. I know a lot of people frown on this practice but I find it to be both useful (I play a lot in 2 player mode/LAN play and to be honest, I just want as many cars unlocked as possible) and enjoyable.

The idea I had was that b-spec mode could be improved if you could set the driver pace for each sector of the lap rather than just shifting between 1 & 5 for the current pace. The thing that gave me the idea was that on Circuit de la Sarthe, my Pescaralo C60 was fine for most of the lap on push hard but always spooned it off into the sand trap at the end of the straight. Rather than having to watch and keep shifting the speed down for the downhill section after the curve in the road, it would be good if I I could tell it to go to medium pace on that sector (5, I think). Adjusting the speed for certain other sectors would also have been useful. Seeing as no tack has more than 12 sectors, I can't see this feature being hard to use or even that difficult to implement.

Any thoughts on this?

Edited: the end of that post sounded a little conceited. My apologies.

Hope this hasn't been posted yet, but it would be great to be able to tamper with the headlights, by been able to set them to high beams, or the low beams. That would be a great addition especially since some tracks have up hills and if the course is pitch black with low visability the high beams would be able to alert the driver that a sharp corner is upcoming after the hill. Or etc. By the way I'm back.

I didn't know if this was posted or not, but I wanted to put it in here b4 I made a thread about it.......obviously online play is gonna be the big thing for them, I would like to be able to also buy cars from a "virtual" showroom online. For instance you can buy cars that weren't in the game and update the gt file, think of it as when u go play madden online and it updates rosters in your regualr game. I think this would add more depth to the gameplay, as we wouldn't just be stuck with the cars in the game, as there are always new cars coming out, these would be downloaded to be able to be played in career/arcade modes. This would be similar to what the need for speed pc series did where you could dl cars and install them into the game. I think it would be a great idea and I'd like to here your opinions on it, tell me if I should make a thread about it as well.

I'm sorry Inkil don't mean to be rude man, but 190mph+ on 1/2 mile dirt ovals with sprint cars? Were you mistaken or you meant that? A formula 1 car with 850+ hp couldn't reach that speed along a similar length of straightaway, and I don't think a sprint car wings and all can carry more corner exit speed to begin with.....

Uh yeah.....thats it..... :)

I would like to see engine swaps that would certainly add a new perspective to the game. Also, I'd like to have the car descriptions back in GT5. I missed those descriptions that they had in GT1, 2 and 3. It'd be pretty cool if they give you the option to flash your headlights to let the AI know of your presence. It could possibly work if we had better AI...

An ability to save your race progress during an endurance, so that you could turn the ps off, and come back to it later, and proceed racing from where you stopped. While this would remove a little realism, I think it's for the greater good, since it grants the average gamer with a chance of completing the 24 hour races, without having to have the playstation turned on for 24 hours straight.

1. smarter, more realistic AI!!!!!!!!!!
2. bring back SSR11 and Red Rock Valley
3. custom paintshops
4. make race mods available again
5. bring driving missions back, but with a more balanced difficulty
6. the ability to roll your car
7. realistic damage modeling
8. more realistic sound (a Mercedes SLR McLaren should not sound like a Ford Taurus SHO)
:)

There is only one thing that needs to be done..... 💡
Make it real you should have to drive to tuning shops and tow your car from the dealership or something, make every car in history available from any country, all the ricing equipment like in NFSU2, you should have to buy a car trailer and a truck for your non-street legal cars and drive em to the track, AI that nearly surpasses human intelligence in cornering and actual driving cause if they had an AI driver on the streets within a minute a couple people would be dead, damage would be great but i dont think that it will ever be anything real bad only like: a blown tire, a busted window, busted tail or headlight or a sidemirror or two busted off but even those things would be pretty awesome and you would have to pay for new ones as penalties or get tickets or disqualified or some sh:censored: like that, actually have a garage where you have actual tools that you actually use to install performance parts and engines and wheels and all that sh:censored:, well thats about it except what I'm proposing would most likely cost a pretty penny and not be available for about 5-15 years so they should take about half of it and use it.....

and when there's some time left in the game you can actually do some races :)

You know, being a golfer I've played a lot of the tiger woods pga tour series and still play it to this day. In the games they have 2 famed comentators that do commentry. It takes a good thing a lot further. What if they got maybe two or three commenators from around the world to do some realistic commentary for the game. Optional of course to be turned off if you don't like it. I think a dream team would be Greg Rust from V8 Supercars and someone from NASCAR and someone from F1. I know this would be a good idea because I often find myself doing commentary to make a boring race more exciting.

I really miss the ability to see all my sector times of all my laps after a practice run. It was my favorite feature of GT2. I don't know if it was in GT3, but it would be lovely if they'd bring it back for GT5.

It wouldn't fly over you, it's fly off to the side, I've seen a big Hare get hit by a DTM Mercedes CLK at 180mph, it didn't roll over the car it did a superman impression to the side though I guess this would depend on the impact, but also the CLK had only half a front end after the impact.

It'd depend on the car, the speed and the angle of the impact, I've only ever seen a race car hit an animal once.

More cars:
Its going to be 20+ cars on the track in GT5. but at some races it needs more. take the Le Mans 24h for example. only 20 cars? no! and if they inlude the Le Mans 24 Hours race into GT5 as well they should add all the classes that's in it irl, and depending on what car you have under the race the computer decide what class you race in. and the other classes should be racing at the same time! that would be awesome i think.

Realistic tire grip:
Does a car with wide slicks spin irl just because it doesn't have TCS? NO! the grip should be realistic compared to the conditions. and cars that don't have TCS irl shouldn't have it in a game either!

NOO! please no! dont you understand this is a racing game? not a drive around game! stick with NFSU if you cruise around...

EDIT: sorry for double posting...

I may have posted in here before, but I lack the time and patience to read thru the whole thing, so I'll just post anyways.....

The obvious:

* More tracks

* Customization: Bodykits, paint, spoilers, rims, decals, crew uniforms, car number,
team car paint scheme....I digress.

* GT3-like user interface. I was lost when I first popped in GT4.

* Drag racing, drift comps, point to point rally.

And anymore useful info that I forgot to throw in.

i would like it if it had mountain passes to drive in for testing or racing even on gt mode.....thatll b fun like initial d

when in the hell did this become initial D?

that is the only reason people drift in a trueno, stupid anime retards

Something "Gil" pointed out in a now closed thread: a decent manual with the game, like in GT2. I have to agree with him, since GT2 the manuals were rather worthless.

I don't know if it's the PAL version or what, but I hardly have any written info in my little GT4 DVD box. Just a booklet with a few things in it, barely enough to point out your dealing with a racegame here. I remember with GT2, I got a thick booklet explaining "FF", "FR", etc. It gave a little introduction to drifiting methods if I remember it right, and a lot more like that. It referred to real life driving, so it wasn't even limited to info on the game.

Now I loved that, and was very disappointed with the info that came along with GT3 and 4. It's something I'd like to return with GT5.

yeah i did see that also but it wasn't a CLK but a good old DTM C-class Mercedes, before the DTM changed into ITC.

Tracks:
Monza, current and old configs, including the 10km layout
Spa, a must, old and new layouts
Brands Hatch
LeMans, we really need the old layout, not the current one just without chicaines
and anything else they can cram in there....

Extras:
track debris, you bash somone, somthing falls off and stays there as a threat to your car and tyres
race flags, green, yellow, red, blue, black, checkered, and such
rabits and such running out across the track, like on the Ring, should be a rare occourance as it doesnt happen all that often in reality

Disturbed07
isnt having a rabbit run in front of you simply going to cause you to restart?

nah, limp back to the pits and get a new front end put on....in a race car atleast.....i really think the possibility of a DNF while racing in a field of 20 some cars would add so much realism be it from a tyre blowout, failed brakes, blown engine/tranny, or even a stray rabit ripping off your front end......and unlike in forza, have the major body work panels anctually fall off......if that Audi R8 in the ALMS had it like in Forza, it wouldnt have done half a lap missing its front end....lol

heres that video of the rabit being exploded by the Mercedes:

it is gory, btw
