Things you would like to see in GT5 other than cars?

I'd also really like a feature whereby you can rip music directly from CD to a directory in the memory card (or hard drive I suppose) specifically for music for the GT5 in-game playlist.

Before I forget, a driver cam I can configure myself, so I'm not stuck with a view of the race I'm not happy with. Although the roofcam in GT4 is superb.

I'd like to be able to transfer music directly from the PC over a network. I have a couple of excellent synthesizers and can record music and master it on the PC.

Along with that, I'd also like GT5 to track just about every stat you can imagine, especially in Career Mode. I'd like to be able to select my avatar and look at my racing history. I think it would be cool to click on a race and see the telemetry data for my car, and the data for all my competitors.

i have a few requests:

.realistic visual damage [eg if you crash into something the car will smash and the bonnet flies off]

.if the car is really badly damaged a safety car comes out and all the other cars have to go at 80km/hr

.qualify in every race not just series races

.if you set a clock on the ps3 or psp the game can use that clock so if you enter a race at midnight it will be dark and in the same race [say a 24hr race] at 6am the sun will just be coming up so go through day and night so you can watch sunrise or sunset and also have the moon come up late at night or in the day that would be great

.change in weather and temperature during races [eg in a 24hr race it's bright and sunny and 40 degrees c at 2:40pm then at 1am it's dark and pouring with rain and 11 degrees c]

.different weather depending where in the world the track is so if it's in antarctica there will be blizzards and -90 degrees c [not that there will be any races in antarctica]

.more intelligent ai cars [eg if it crashes and misses the pits on nurburgring [happened a lot in gt4] reverse and go back into the pits instead of trying to go through the wall [like gt4]] they have got to fix this this is terrible

.turn headlights on whenever you want to [eg when it gets dark, when it's foggy]

.with manual transmittion you can change to neautril and reverse

.reverse lights [when it's in reverse]

.if it runs out of fuel slow down completely [with the engine off] and wait for the pit crew to come and tow it back [not that they're going to run out of fuel very often]

.more realistic revving

.reduced performance [eg bodyshell damaged reduced aerodynamics, exhaust damaged reduced efficiency of the engine]

.if you overrev the car it will blow the engine

.in car view with working guages such as speed, RPM, temperature

.if you lose a radiator fan the car will get hot

.if the car gets too hot it will blow the engine

.fully customizable tuning options and parts

.drive to races and shops and everything and use the GPS [like nfsu2]that would be coolView attachment 58279

.for arcade mode choose between 2 and 30 different cars for a race and their settings [eg tyres] or random cars and settings

.during the replays show all the other cars stats [eg fuel, temperature, tyre wear] i mean common i always want to look at the tire wear and fuel in other cars during the replays

.flags in each race [eg to start and end, when safety car comes out]

.tyre wear in licenses

.licence tests against other cars [like in gt4 prologue]

.car stalls if in wrong gear

.start the car

.push a button to keep the handbrake on and make the sound pulling it up

.more realistic engine sounds i mean a lot of the cars sound the same i know they've improved it a lot since gt2 but it needs more improving

.brake discs light up when braking really hard

.flames coming out of the exhaust more often not just when changing back a gear

.hopefully the game working properly in all play station 3s because i have big time problems with my gt4 in my ps2 and all my other games work fine in mine and gt4 works fine in my friends

.instead of testing top speed on an oval where you lose speed around corners do it on a 20km drag strip

.realistic road surface [eg nurburgring has low grip and should be harder to drive on it and new york should be much easier to drive with it's good surface, also if it's snowing the grip will be very low on the snow covered surface and it's raining it will be hard to drive on the wet road]

.better choices for arcade mode

i totally agree with tarek69. bikes would be more than cool, and also modification. like in need for speed underground 2, like spinners, doors opening upwards, diffirent paint jobs and like some other people said damage. Like for example if you run into a wall at 200mph your car would get no damage at all (like in gt4) but in gt5 i want the car to be all broken and muked up. and like lthiele said drive to races ((wicked!!!!!)) like in need 4 speed undrgrnd 2 good one lthiele!

i think you would be cool if they put a dyno in GT5. also a weight scale for your car so you can even the weight between the front and rear. don't add 10+ cars on every race. it would be hard to pass more than 10 cars in 2 laps without causing damage to your car.

No one ever says driving during pitting. Seriously autodrive sucks. It takes away the feeling of racing when you just watch the AI do the job. It would work easily, press a button to activate the speed limiter before the pitting line and drive to your spot and again deactivate limiter when leaving the pits.

if you drove to races it would take hours and get really boring, imagine going from suzuka to the nurburgring, yeah, thats a long time, and if they put work into that then they'd lose time doing work on something better and enjoyable.

i'd like to see the goodwood track in britain and bathurst, that'd be awesome. the gt group needs to forget about the object of money and get licencing from ferrari and porsche, they could have actual f1 cars in there, like gilles villeneuves ferrari 126c2 and an old auto union, the streamliner is'nt enough.

two words:

flat spots.....

if you can have blow-outs, why not flatspots? but then we would also have to have non ABS brakes and be able to lock upaand just end up skidding......

Weee

I mentioned this somewhere for GT5...

(Can't remember where though :scared: )

I don't wanna sound like I'm starting something, however, I cannot contain myself.

Everyone who has submitted a response in this thread has good ideas, but, we need to think about this for a second here.

1. GT1-GT4 = there is no damage = rumour is there will be in GT5
2. GT1-GT4 has had 6 AI at a time = rumour is GT5 will have more than 10 AI at any given time
3. GT1-GT4 = stupid AI = GT5 is supposedly having smarter AI that will drive much better than it is now

From the pattern I have seen starting with GT1-GT4, the graphics get better, damage becomes more and more likely with every next GT game, the AI gets smarter and smarter.

My theory = damage is a BIG possibility, AI becomes much smarter than ever before, the cars look much much better, we are going to see much much more cars than ever before ( I say in the ball park of atleast 950 to maybe alittle more than 1000 ), drifting becomes more realistic and a little easier to handle, and the little details ( physics, tires, weight, sounds, handling, etc etc etc ) get tweaked and fixed to almost perfection.

All the above are my predictions for GT5. If some, most or all come true this is going to give me a heart attack . If none come true, wouldn't be a first for me

ciao for now and lets see if my predictions come true ( crosses fingers )

i don't know about bikes but the spinners and doors and all that would be great!

In previous Gt games it was easy making alot of credits and not knowing what to spend them on. In GT4 they have solved this isseu by making the cars insanely expensive (4.5M ?! it's not a fighter plane you know). So i would like to see useless expenses, (GT4 has some like the 5cr. for a free lap (ow the irony) and the carwash.) So How about realistic fuel consumption and race entrance fees, after you destroy a set of tires you have to buy new ones etc.

The second thing i would like to see is as already mentioned realistic gauges. Polyphony claims it is imposibble to create interiors for all 700 cars and i understand but its a minor effort to create a realistic 2d speed/RPM gauge.

As a third, i love the sound of engines and would like it if you could start and gas blip from the garage (now i have to enter a car go to a circuit twice to compare engine sounds)

and last, a little offtopic as we're not susposed to talk about the cars we would like in GT5, i would like to say i'm sick of the lack of Ferrari, Maserati, Bugatti, lamborghini and De Tomaso. And wat really makes me sick is that polyphony is always hiding behind there "we can't get the proper license codswallop" because the only reason there not in the game is that yamsucki kamawanker doesn't like italian cars. SEGA could even get ferrari's in there latest outrun, i mean SEGA... they've been declared bankrupt more times then all african country's combined F*r****'s S*k*.

drag tires and no ****ing **** smoke if a car does a burn out it should [depends on the power] poor out smoke like a 800hp car should fill the sky with smoke and drifting have proper drifting like if a car gets side ways and has alot of power it poor out smoke and cover the screen with smoke

i wouldnt mid a couple of things

1. Damage would allways be nice
2. i think it would be cool to have different competitions and really really really go indepth with them. for instance, they should have drift comps were they judge you on your line, speed and curve of the car. or drag races would be really really underground were you can race for pink slips and other such things.
3. I think it would be awsome if they had a more dynamic customizing system, or maby you could get sponsors for you car, and maby even own your own racing team and basically desighn your car from scratch.
4 and you should allways need more smoke!!! lol

thats a good point

how about getting fined for doing something bad like speeding in the pits if you drive thru the pits yourself oor or running anotther car off the raad

After racing a bunch in Forza today, I think it's time to reiterate, a trainable B-Spec driver, like Forza's drivatar.

Also, after spending the rest of the say in Forza's paint and mod shop creating race cars, an excellent paintshop with some Photoshop-like tools, and a bunch of licensed performance parts and race oriented body kits.

Oh, and after all the posts requesting some pretty deep technical adjustment tweakage, a nice manual that explains everything you can do to a car, and how adjusting all these parts affect not just how your car behaves, but how adjustments work with other adjustments.

What about some sort of sponsorship deals or something? Forza Motorsport has discounted parts as you develop a "relationship" with companies. I think there should be more of a sponsorship type deal where you pick up sponsors and in turn you have to display a decal on the side of a car or something. In the big leagues of racings, there aren't a lot of entrepreneurs.

Exactly. In fact I'm racing in Forza right now, or my Drivatar B-Spec Bob is, but he's getting clobbered so it looks like I'll have to save the day. :P

But I posted a number of real life racing aspects I wanted to see in GT5 last year in this thread.

Much like Codemasters did in Toca Race Driver 3, I want a real Career Mode in GT5 which emphasizes all the things you have in real life racing such as beginning in hobbyist leagues, racing for cash prizes and point standings, and attracting sponsorships for endorsement contracts and a chance to advance into whatever professional fields I want to for the year. Because of some of the ambitious plans Kazunori hinted at in a number of interviews and the way it seemed to have worked well in Toca 3, I have high hopes that this will show up in GT5, or by GT6.

Someone probably already mentioned this, but this thread's got too many posts in it, so.... :D

I've hated this for while. When you are in the GT mode, and in a racing track menu. You feel like testing a different car, want to change it, but in order to do that, you have to get out of the menu, back to the garage, exchange your cars, then come back. I wish they'd add an ability to change cars from the track menus.

Don't know if someone posted it before (most likely not but, really, how could I possibly find it?).

Have you noticed how in every track the grandstands are always half empty? What the hell? Every race feels like a home game against the marlins! Isn't this supposed to be a major motorsport event? They should be full!!! How hard is it to find tickets to any race, nowadays? Not only that, they should have people all over the place, like they did with the rally tracks. Of course, not IN the track, but in every corner they should have photographers, umbrella girls, PEOPLE! All over the place, like any motorsport event! The whole track should feel like you're in a major race, not some amateur league race!

My guess is that spectator attendance is low because in the world of GT4, every race is an American Grand Prix 2005, with only 6 cars per grid... </F1 joke>
