Apologies for the lack of updates, but I've been fairly busy lately, so not much GT4 time:indiff:.

So now that I've got some time with it, I've raised the bar with my Minolta. Speed attached.đź‘Ť

And also...I brought my black Toyota TS020 to a top speed of 351.18 mph. Video proof (as per rules) here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DxvxoTCd3fQ

Thanks, Thiele, both of your Black Beauties are now on the Leaderboard đź‘Ť

Hey ty, nice speed... Now, I know this is your first video verification, and if I didn't want to avoid going into so much detail in the rules that people stopped bothering to read them all, they'd explain this - it's really hard to tell whether the wheels are on the ground or not from inside the car, and so videos are best shot from the automatic 'trackside' camera. This makes it far easier for us to tell how the car's behaving, particularly for someone not very familiar to that car. Sorry about that, but it's next to impossible to tell a slight wheelie from inside the car.

Right, thanks for that, Opendriver - oh, and where the hell are your speeds these days? :P

I wasn't in any way sure about it, because I've never had the GT-One at high speeds myself, so I had to ask for an external video anyway.

DE

I accidentally hit the wrong button without saving the replay:banghead:. Otherwise, I'd upload the same replay with a "trackside" view, showing all four wheels on the ground. I apologize, but go ahead and disregard that speed. I'll have another one posted shortly.

EDIT: New speed up...even faster than the old one. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ahUCV-ShnIM

Judging by the angle of the nose in the video, it close, and may not be legal.

But that DE's choice, not mine. Good job anyways...

I personally think that should be allowed, because it's not cheating.

Anyways i've got a stack of cars i'm currently on, but none got more than 280 yet, i'll show which ones later. :)

One question for all who know... If you break the speed record with a certain car, is a photo still enough? I figure i should know this beforehand.:)

As far as I believe, video's are only required for speed runs above 350mph, non-nitrous runs and all class beating records (that's the world, road/race and non-nitrous records). The last part is kind of irrelevant now though, given that both the nitrous records are above 350mph. For the speed record with just a specific car, screen shot should be adequate, just so long as the new record is below 350mph.

There's one exception to this: DE can ask for video proof of any run that he is suspicious of. That is, if you suddenly put 10mph on a record which has been highly contested (for example, the Supra record), it's likely that video proof will be required. :nervous:

Of course, if you have the ability to do video capture or a reasonable quality, then I would encourage you to do so. A few high speed tuners (including myself) do this, as it is much more interesting to see than a simple screenshot. :)

Just out of interest, was there any particular car you had in mind? đź‘Ť

Ahhh, sorry for the time it took to get this done. Seems that, when oral exams are coming up, the only time I get online is on my laptop - and that negates the possiblity of updates, as my database and files are all on my desktop. :guilty:

MS is quite right there, thanks. :)

But, here we go. Nice job with the Nissan, Pescarolo and Sauber, mcsqueegy, all relatively high speeds - and, ty, that run looks fine. Glad you got a higher speed out of the re-run! Good work, both. đź‘Ť

Thanks for the congratulations, DE-I was damn near ecstatic when I first saw 350 mph flash up on the screen. I know the GT-One is worth a little bit more, and I've gotten it over 300 mph without nitrous, but I think I'm going to slow my updates for a little while :(. I'm just too busy at the moment. Don't worry; I'll still be hanging around and posting speeds, just not as quickly as before.

No worries, it's nice to see people who still enjoy this sort of thing :)

Keep on making the improvements when you can, to be honest I'm about to become verrrry busy so don't worry about it :P

Good luck!

Everyone, welcome the Subaru STi Spec C to the 300 MPH club.

All rules followed. Launched at WOT, never lifted, hit the spray a bit before the final straight, and let it run. Reached 297 without oil.

Sorry for somewhat hazy quality. 300.68mph.

Well, thanks for making me turn my laptop on its side to read that.. :P

Right then. Seems a pretty high-profile achievement, that, so I'm going to have to ask for video verification of it.

Do any seasoned 4WD tuners have comments on this one?

DE

I can either post the setup or have another member of my tuning garage make a proof run.

Sadly, I knew you'd say that as well. Seeing as we've all said it can't do it...

I can say that the front differential is critical. From a 10/30/5 setting to 10/60/60 made the difference between 275-280mph and 300. The chatter just stops otherwise.

Will do what I can to prove the run.

Well heres photo and video proof of my run with RJ's settings. I actually went faster than posted above so there shouldn't be any doubt that this is a 300mph car. :)

302.28mph

Question: Since I drove this car to 302mph, do both Me and RJ go on the board or just RJ? I don't mind either way but I'm just curious. :P

The Impreza can do 300mph, of that I am certain. :)
*whistles in the corner*

Good work RJ! đź‘Ť

For what it's worth, I first became aware of a 300mph Impreza back in December '07. Now that it's on the board officially, you may see some new runs from those of us that have been holding them back. Certainly, you'll get to see my Impreza once I get through the mountain of work I have piled up. :)

...Everyone, welcome the Subaru STi Spec C to the 300 MPH club...

Congrats on getting the run and especially with that car đź‘Ť

I managed to get a good hours worth of runs and I'm very close at the moment.. whilst I haven't been holding any runs back, provided I find some more time I'll definately be doing some runs of my own as well (don't expect them any time soon though).

Nice way to get some competition going R.J

Pyrelli

Right, thanks for the extra verification. Seeing as VTiRoj's video verifies the car's capabilities, it's safe to say that Rotary's speed is legitimate too. And, seeing as you both posted separate speeds, you are indeed both on the Leaderboard. Nice work! đź‘Ť

It's great to see something new to write in the Recent Records section, as well ;) can we expect more from these cars soon?

...As promised, here's my Impreza in action...I spent a little while pushing it up past 310, just as a challenge...

Good work with the Impreza đź‘Ť, looking at the replay I noticed we have the same general 'stance' of the car amongst other things. Hopefully I'll be able to get some tinkering time soon.

It shouldn't be too much work for R.J and VTiRoj, I seem to remember they weren't using a wing on their run.

As promised, here's my Impreza in action:

Subaru Impreza Sedan WRX STi Spec-C '04 @ 310.01mph [screen] [video] [YouTube]

I spent a little while pushing it up past 310, just as a challenge. :)

Jesus H. Christ, i knew that would happen.:nervous:

Anyway, finally happy with my speed 12, drove it about 300 miles.
http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii39/mcsqueegy/IMGP1680.jpg

And, for a break, i updated my Supra RZ speed.
http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii39/mcsqueegy/IMGP1713.jpg

The TVR feels like a freakin' boat, considering its 1136bhp and light weight. Painful, PAINFUL car.

Sorry for the slow response :embarrassed: exam season has made me a little busy :P

...Nicely played, MS, although I can't say it's a surprise that you've nicked the record, the speed is surprising! Great work đź‘Ť

mcsqueegy, seems you're never happy until you've done some record-breaking, nice work with the TVR! Your Supra's getting close too, any more improvements on the way?

*dances around in appreciation*. Well, i had the Sauber C9 on 340.94mph, i'll post the pic tonight if I can't improve it.
I don't want to use every single car on the leaderboard already! But i'll take a break, and work on 1/4 mile times a bit as well.

Hehe, another good speed.

Bah, you heretic ;) sure you can get three more miles per hour out of the old Merc rather than driving 440 yards and braking again :P

DE

Here's the Sauber. Can improve a bit more, but for the time being...
*Clicky Clicky*
I almost literally dug up a Merc CLK-GTR speed that i uploaded months ago, but it can be improved... about 12 miles off, so i won't post it yet.:)
