"Three Legendary Cars" Trophy

Doubtful. I think we can save the out of the box thinking until the 330 P4 is available. If that doesn't trigger it, then we have to consider wilder ideas.
Doesn’t hurt, but we’ll see.

I'm late to the thread, but i think the 3rd Lemans winner from 80s/90s thats been in the GT games is the Sauber C9.
So Jag, 787b, c9 all have won the 24hr lemans.

Cars that were designed but didnt win, Nissan R390 GT1, Toyota GT One, maybe R92CP? The latter have been in the GT series I think since GT2.

Yeah, that's all made-up nonsense.

We don't actually know what will trigger the trophy right now and, with that in mind, there is no clear reason at the moment that some cars should be eligible and some are not. Acting like he knows for sure that the XJR-9 isn't eligible because it "barely beat the runner-up" (along with some of the other bizarre reaches) when nobody knows whether it is or is not is... well, let's be really kind and say weird.

What Famine stated, pretty much.
I'm actually shocked how in that site, which usually has crisp and correct descriptions on how to get trophies (sometimes it's not updated but still correct relative to the patch it's referring to) has someone post this to further misguide people.

If anything, just read this entire thread, which has posts with almost pinpoint accuracy on which cars should or should not be.

So far, realistically we only have 3 chances:

-Jaguar XJ13 + Ford Mark IV + Ferrari 330 P4 ----- > The 3 cars that were born to participate in Le Mans at the same time in 1967. Also the 3 cars that had a GT5 trophy related to them about winning a race with all 3 of them in and with you using one of them.
About a 90% chance that it's going to be this. *Despite not making any sense in regards to the trophy description.

-Sauber Mercedes C9 + Jaguar XJR-9 + Porsche 962C ----- > 3 car models that have won 24 hr Le Mans races and also raced at the same time and fought for the win for the 1989 24 hr Le Mans race, which was also the last year that Le Mans had the Mulsanne straight without chicanes.

-The Trophy is bugged.
^This is unlikely, because someone, likely a developer or a hacker has unlocked this trophjy through unlocking all the cars in the game.
This can be explained by the fact that this account got the 50 and 100 cars trophy on the exact same time, which is not possible, legitimately. Which probably means he wanted to test the cars or something (not on track, maybe something else), so the likelyhood of the trophy being bugged is really low.

We just have to wait for either the Porsche 962C or the Ferrari 330 P4 to be available on the LCD. Given that there are only 11 cars left to price (of which 2 and potentially 4 are going to be UCD cars), it can be said that next week we will have a very high chance of having both cars in the dealer.

If one of them pops the trophy, we will have it, somehow, figured it out which are the other 2 cars that make the trophy pop.

If none pops the trophy (unlikely)... Then it has to be bugged.

Yea it was my first time reading about someone being critical of the 787b and Mac F1 GTR.

These 3 legendary cars are probably Kaz's pick.
Honestly we've all been wrong, its gotta be an R35 GTR from 2008, a GTR from 2017, and a race spec R35 GTR. LOL

Well, there is a third possibility: three specific cars that are otherwise indistinguishable from cars that are not eligible for the trophy.

It could be any two of the cars we've had so far and the McLaren F1 GTR '95 - and unless @BossBattle has scored the trophy it could be that the gifted Hagerty car doesn't count for some unknown reason (it hasn't counted towards his Collector Level for starters).

I've been deliberately not buying most of the posited cars as other people have been, so that when it does ping we have a chance of finding out what the real combination is. I've only got the 787B (because of course I have) and XJR9 so far.

He's lying, and it's pretty transparent.

Fun fact: almost none of these games (including GTS/GT7) even appear on his actual PSN profile. I'm not going through each one individually, but I can't find a single one of those sub-2-minute Platinums at first glance.

Maybe he's hidden those games, or maybe it's PSN Profiles that he's somehow glitching.
Yep, I didn’t get the trophy on my end. I bought everything currently in the LCD aside from the 250 GTO. $20,000,000 for one car feels like a bridge too far, but it’s tempting me. 😩

Exactly...

EDIT: But yes, the Toyota TS050, the Porsche 919 Hybrid and the Audi R18 e-tron met in the 2016 24hr Le Mans. By the way, in what was probably the biggest heartbreak in Le Mans history... Toyota with the lead number 5 car breaking down with 1 LAP (~3 minutes) to end the race.

Peugeot didn't meet any other car in Le Mans aside from the Audi R18 from 2011.
Thanks for clarifying. As for the stories of LeMans, I am more or less up to date - have watched on Eurosport since they have been showing only fragments - mid 1990's I think ;) - 11 seconds win race included - 2007 was it? Have not seen last two, would like to watch this year's.

That was in 2011 when the only remaining R18 (the one we have in GT7) beat Peugeot by 13s.

It cold be that three cars destined to win are from Porsche, Audi and Ferrari. Cars from those brands accumulated the most victories.

At the moment it could be anything, but as the only Audi in Legends Cars is the S1 Pikes Peak, it's unlikely that this is the solution.

Here I was thinking I was 2/3rds of the way there because I ended up getting the Jag and 787B lol because both of them were in the LCD.

Seems like it’s going to be a wild goose chase to get this one.

My math is terrible, but with Tokyo express being the best payout so far at 825,000 Every 20 minutes. And with 3 cars being at the worst 20million a piece. We're looking at a solid 24 hours of grinding. That's the worst case scenario.

I could see at least one of the 3 being 20 million, maybe another at 15?

Just glad there isn't a trophy for collecting every car in the game! That'd be a steep grind 😅

Of the cars we've not yet seen none of them will be 20M, now we know they're pricing cars based on real world valuations.

Of the cars we have seen only four are 20M and only one of them could possibly be related to this trophy, the Daytona Coupe, but that is pretty unlikely.

I came across this video

With so much uncertainty surrounding this trophy it could any of the cars in this mission race as 2 of them are yet to appear in the dealership

He has a valid point, one which many people in this thread have already speculated.
I think we all have a pretty good idea on which cars they are, it's more of a waiting game till they launch now.
Hopefully when they do , they're for sale for a while so people have a chance to earn the money for said car.

The Daytona Coupe is unlikely. The car was never destined to win the OVERALL Le Mans race, it was only built to win it's class, which it did. But a class win is not an overall win, we also had the 250GTO for that who was also a class winner in the 60s.

The other 3 however, were built to try to win the overall race of Le Mans, of which only the Ford Mark IV did and the Jaguar XJ13 never raced.

Regardless, it's almost (*ALMOST) confirmed it's the 330 P4 that's going to make this trophy pop up. It's also amazing and quite some coincidence that in the mission you have it like this:

4th Shelby Daytona Coupe (a car that appeared in the LCD before the game launch, it costs 20 million)
3rd Mark IV (the first car to be in the dealer after the game launched)
2nd Jaguar XJ13 (the second car to be in the dealer after the game launched)
1st Ferrari 330 P4 (the car that is yet to appear in the LCD)

^Quite a huge coincidence tbh how they were "ordered" in both the mission and in the order they appeared in the LCD.

The worst case scenario is that PD will remove Tomahawk from the grind. ;)

Even if they fix Tomahawk grind there are still 30 minutes ways to earn 825.000. Only 10 minutes more than Tokyo way of grinding, and much easier when using Redbull car

Has anyone tried to contact Playstation or kazunori yamauchi directly to ask for explanations on this trophy?
Doubt they'd reply. Once you've gave them money they don't want to know.
The reviews for the game and the whole situation with micro-transactions sums this up.

Surely this meta-game is of their own doing. And they most likely will hold on the last car for as long as they can so that people might jump back in and check.

The trophy in my language is "acquire 3 legendary cars" and what if instead of buying them we have to get them by winning some races?
Unless PD will add prize cars to the races, or reopen the cafe and get Luca off his bum to give us more menu books...
Come to think about it, a menu book could be a solution, Luca gives new book, as always you need to win the "new race" to "collect" the cars for the book. As we know these cars are the "important" ones so we would probably have only one of these cars in a book and there could be other new books that will have the other cars needed and by the time we all complete the new set of books we should have two of the three, forcing us to buy the third. Plausible?
