@GTP_ken_b your issues are not uncommon. Been there. Do as they say, send video and wait for a RMA return label. Mine took apx 4 - 5 days just to get a return label. Total turn around time from shipping out to receiving, 28 days.

I would suggest to keep pushing for that return label. Call them works better than email. My wheel has worked great for the last 4 months. Even with this issue, I would buy another T300 rather than a G29.

Good luck , it will be over soon.

The same as me, man. Sad to hear that, and more sad to knwo that TM is doing nothing to repair their faulty wheels.

SGETI, i will never buy anything from TM again. I spent a lot of money in a toy that, in the end of the day, don't worth what it cost. Buy something and live with the fear that it can break at anytime isn't the best thing in the world.

Thanks @SGETI appreciate the suggestion, I will call them tomorrow to ask when the RMA label will be received. On 20160303 in an email they confirmed one would be sent out. I'm patient, forced to knock out some house projects then. I am massively disappointed, but am keeping the faith that Thrustmaster will hook it up. The thought of buying another wheel as a back up isn't an option, I want the one I just bought to meet an consumers expectation and function! Any way I do appreciate the response and I'll update soon.

Thx @Ian_83, funny that you say join the queue. I do feel like a massive wanker for not doing my research. This product has turned out to be an expensive pos, but as I said I'm keeping the faith that they'll make it right. Cheers!!

Hoping your issues get resolved. I RMA'd my first T300 for clicking / popping when turning around the center position. I also once had PCars slam the wheel all the way to once side (could be a PS4/Trustmaster driver issue, never had it on ps3) before I sent it in.

As for the wheel I got back.. it is so much nicer. Smooth, quiet, better fan. Never had an issue with it since (except for issues directly related to project cars as it always works perfect when I try ps3 or Drive Club) and used it for many many hours. Combined with the T3PAs and the TH8a it is an awesome setup. Just wish Thrustmaster had better Quality Control.

It has been in the closet for a couple months but will be back out soon for Dirt Rally and Assetto Corsa. Not that I did not enjoy PCars a lot, I just fell into a BF4 addiction then recently I picked up Witcher 3.

I got a new T300 Ferrari GTE wheel back in October last year. The wheel is quite nice overall, only the left shifter paddle is having some issues. The right paddle feels really great to me. It has a firm but sharp clicking spot at about half the lever way, so it feels really nice to pull it through. Quite the opposite with the right one. It feels looser, not so much on point but that is not the problem. The clicking spot is pretty much at the end of the lever way. So when you pull the paddle through to the end, it happens that it still doesn't click - even if you can't pull it any further. Sometimes you need to exert the paddle four or five times until you get the paddle to click and you finally shift down one gear. When pulling at the upper end of the paddle, it doesn't work at all, never.

Two questions now:
Has anyone here had the same or similar problems and can give me some advice?
I'd open the wheel on my own if I find a useful tutorial on how to do it (preferably a video) and see if there is something improperly arranged. Or is this a breach of warranty? Most probably so, I guess.
Or much simpler, I could return it to the retailer I ordered it from. But I really don't like this back and forth sending of things, it always takes so much time and effort. And I'm not sure it is enough for the retailer to take it back.

Mine felt like this.

The right paddle is great with a solid clicking noise, the left one got loose but now it got back to normal.
So sad that now the wheel isn't working properly.

I saw a video on YouTube about the 599XX Evo (30cm alcantara) rim and fixing bad paddle click. Basically you can take it apart and check if the spring is mounted properly.

A bit of googling should get you the video....

Personally, I wouldn't risk opening it up. The actual fix is probably really simple, but if you did fix it yourself, Thrustmaster might not want repair/replace the wheel if you get another issue in a few months time.

It has a guarantee for a reason, so use it. 👍

Taking it back to the retailer might be quicker than contacting TM. It's worth enquiring.

Thanks for your answers, guys.

I'll take it back to the retailer, it is probably the most reasonable thing to do.
I still have some free time at the moment and I'd rather spend it playing some games, so I'll wait 2-3 weeks until I contact the retailer when life becomes more busy and I won't have playing time anyway.

Btw vocabulary question: In this particular case, do we talk about a warranty or a guarantee?

A warranty is a written guarantee. So effectively it's the same thing.

I'm sure that someone will be incredibly pedantic and state differences, but in layman's terms, either term would apply for returning a defective product.

Take your pick and use your preference.

A warranty specifically refers to items you purchase, and the duration of which that item can be returned or repaired if defective (and whatever conditions that apply). Nobody really uses guarantee for that particular context (at least not that I've ever encountered), but everybody will know what you mean.

I had this problem with the right paddle, it did not yield a solid click on shifts and was rather mushy feeling. Contacted Thrustmaster and they had me open the wheel and take a photo of the springs to see if they were broken (provided a pdf of instructions). What I found was the hinge plate was cracked. Sent the photos to them and the sent me a replacement wheel. Didn't ask for the old wheel to be returned so now I have a spare for parts.

This reminds me of something else I had in mind. I might reach out to Thrustmaster and see if they let me open the wheel and fix it under guidance from the phone. No need for sending things back and a quick solution without a loss of warranty.

To counter the unfortunate negative experiences above, a reminder that loads of people are enjoying the T300 and that it really is a good option in today's wheel market:

The interesting bit is the comments: Gamermuscle was originally expecting to review and discard the T300 but it won him over.

Let's see how long it will last with him, then we talk.

EDIT: Don't get me wrong, the T300 is a great wheel. But while it still have this kind of quality control, i won't recomend it to anyone.
Sold my TH8A and the T500 pedals. Will send the T300 again to repair and see if Vladmir can get it fix now. If he do, i'll sell it and buy a G29.

I could buy the G29 only with the money of the pedals and shiffter, only have to put a little bit more, but i'm so pissed that i don't know if i want to spent so much money again only to play racing games.

Maybe i'll try to make my old DFGT works on the PS4... who knows.

The bushings in my fan have gone bad, and my warranty is expired... I'm planning to replace it myself, I assume that Thrustmaster would charge me a lot to replace it.

I think mine did the same thing a few months ago, and started making a lot of noise. But for some reason the noise went away by itself and hasn't returned yet. A new fan is like $5. I bought one to have ready for when I actually do have to replace it.

Mine is louder than it used to be, and sometimes it makes the worst grinding sound in the world... I'm guessing that's because it isn't spinning the way it's supposed to.

I'm absolutely loving mine(in combination with my shifter and Pro pedals). Like really, really loving it. Been playing a lot of Assetto Corsa still and also now Automobilista, which is pretty amazing, too.

Yep! I use mine two or three times a week for about 1-2h, but I’m loving every minute of it. Assetto Corsa is such a joy with this wheel!

I was looking into getting this, and I managed to find a new one for £204.99, is this a good price?

Hi Ken,

Sorry for asking you that. Did they ask you for an invoice? I got mine as I gift from overseas and dont have any proof of purchase. I believe it is more than proved this a Known Issue from these wheels and should be replaced even out of warranty as Logitech do.

Thanks.

Well, with my wheel they said: "
We cannot know what exactly happened with the other racing wheels of your acquaintances, what caused the malfunctions and if those issues were easily fixable.

The main reason is that we do not have our own technical service in Brazil. Nor do we have any partners or ex-employees (that we know of) that do repairs for our products.

For any issue encountered with our products during the warranty period, given the condition mentioned above, our official retailers and distributors are in charge with completely replacing the unit with a new one."

There's another e-mail saying that they can't do nothing without a invoice.... but worth the shot.

That's about the standard asking price nowadays for just the wheel and the basic pedals. Good price for that yea, but I definitely recommend getting the T3PA(or Pro's) pedals to go with it at the very least.

On a side note, as much as I'm enjoying my T300, I've gotta say, it's a lot like owning a good pair of reference headphones. As good as some games and cars feel, you *really* notice it when the FFB is lacking.

I'm taking the chance of getting a base & regular wheel (3 yrs using a G27) when I visit US in 3 weeks. Maybe from Ricmotec. Originally thinking of the alcantara but might just get the regular wheel first & lessen the risk by $100,as I'm taking it back to asia where there's no support. Even those sold here by stores offer only 1 week warranty, albeit costs higher. Hopefully no issues.

We can add another T300RS to the list of casualties. Mine just died. After two months. However, I did thoroughly enjoy it in the short time it worked.
