Does anybody have some good settings recommendations for both rFactor 2 and Projects Cars on the PC? I'm unable to get them to provide any real worthwhile FFB. I know Project Cars has some fairly esoteric FFB settings options and it took me a bit with my G27 to really get it feeling nice, so it's understandable I'm not immediately there with my T300, but rFactor2 is a bit more puzzling. It had great FFB out-the-box with my G27 yet I'm hardly feeling anything with my T300. The game lacks a lot in the way of FFB settings, so I'm not entirely sure what I need to change to get the feeling back.

Any help would be much appreciated.

You can try looking through this for PCARS.

I've looked at that before and honestly understood very little of it.

I just want some plug and play recommendations that I dont have to think about when it comes to Project Cars and all the weird FFB settings it has.
I recommend in pCARS simply making a couple of small changes (off the top of my head, might have misremembered names):
- in the advanced menu turn down steering gain from 2.00 to 1.00
- add 0.05 deadzone removal
- turn down tyre force so that you don't get any clipping (say 80-90%)
- make sure deadzones are all on zero, linearity on 50% on all axes

This should give you much more informative and lively FFB. Some cars might be a bit heavy, so you can either drop tyre force a bit more or tweak individual car setups.

Thanks a bunch. I'll give them a try tomorrow ASAP.

I'd actually try them now but I just got done playing. One of the awesome things about the wheel/pedals is how quiet they are. Usually past 9PM with my G27, playing was a no-go since it made an awful racket. But I can play just fine with the T300 so long as I dont use the shifter, which does make a bit of clangy noise. Only noisy bit of the T300 is the paddles and they are very tolerable. So if I stick to paddle-shift cars at night, I'm good.

Doesn't the Ricmotech give the higher resolution too? It's only a cable that adapts from one style of plug to another, surely it's the wheel base that translates the signal and therefore improves the resolution.

I can't see how Thrust master have done anything different!!

The IC and the firmware is on the base of the wheel = the resolution of the Ricmotech & of the Bodin adapter is also 10 bits.

Yeah, the existing adapters like Ricmotech's also gives higher resolution. Insidesimracing already tested this.

Ah that's a relief! Thanks a lot guys 👍

I only have a G25, and I'm quite used to the noise. Recently I tried a G27 at a friend's house and I already feel it's a lot quieter. I can't imagine how quiet the T300 is. First time trying I would probably think it's faulty or something

Not at all. For one, the general, FFB-less resistance of the T300 already feels much smoother. It glides, where as the G-wheels feel a bit ratchety by comparison. And when in-game, when you run over some rumble strips or something, the G wheels do a rapid fire, loud, CLACK CLACK CLACK sort of noise. I got used to it myself too, but it was definitely something I knew very well I couldn't run at nighttime with other people in the house and having my neighbors through my thin wall. There's none of that with the T300. The only real noise complaint I have with it is is the fan noise that tends to kick in after 10-15 minutes of driving or so. It's about as loud as my PC(which isn't super loud), but being obviously quite close to me, is more noticeable. I generally wear headphones, so I dont really notice til I take them off, but it's something worth noting. Overall, it's a very quiet wheel, though. Which is great.

Also, skazz, gotta thank you for the Project Cars settings. Definitely made for a great baseline. It'd been a while since I'd messed with the FFB settings in that game so I also forgot how huge a difference individual car settings made. And boy, even just turning the Spindle force setting from 26->32 provided a major boost to the feeling. Quite happy with it now, though I'll definitely have to retune just about every car to suit, which I can live with.

Still not getting any satisfactory results with rFactor2, though. Did some research on it and while I've improved it slightly, I just cannot get any real worthwhile FFB going. And there's really so little in the way of FFB settings in-game, I'm not sure what to do anymore. Cant even get it remotely feeling like I've got Assetto Corsa or Project Cars. Really wonder what's going on.

I ordered my wheel today and hopefully it will arrive this week, I'm super excited to go from a DFGT to this wheel just the simple silence when turning will be amazing.

Although I'm still concerned about it's durability after hearing a lot of problems but then again you do hear things like this happen to many products.

Want to hear something funny? When I got my T300 I missed the CLACK CLACK CLACK sort of noise... It really took time for me to get used to this new wheel because of that. Someone else said he missed the 'tactile feedback' the Logitech wheels give and I think he had hit the nail on the head. But I do not want to go back, I really love the T300: it's smooth, strong and gives more detailed FFB. Two minor complaints: I bought the Ferrari Alcantara wheel but wished it did not have the flat spot at the bottom of the wheel (I like a completely round wheel more) and the fan noise is a bit annoying when not using headphones.

Even I'm planning to switch to this wheel from a G27. Let us know your first impression and review. :)

I think I'm going to be similar to you  I can't imaging driving over kerbs and not hearing that rackety noise. Especially in Grid Autosport (it sounds like the wheel is gonna shake itself to pieces). When we are sitting on a couch we miss a lot of sensations from the real world that makes driving fast such a visceral experience, so I like it to be as noisy and gritty as possible, if that makes sense. Another reason why I love my old G25 is the simplicity of the wheel. Just metal and leather with 2 small buttons. Having all the buttons on the wheel is nice, but it doesn't feel as RAW.

Another data point for resilience: My T300RS (replacement) is now ~15 months old and still going strong. My original T300 was a launch model and needed to be replaced immediately (clanking due to bad tolerance in the shaft, bad first batch). After a few months wait for more stock, my replacement T300RS was received in late 2014, and it has run faultlessly all through 2015 and up to today.

I'm at the stage now that if the wheel base were to have issues after the 2 year warranty is up, I'd buy a new stand-alone base immediately to replace it. There's nothing on the market I'd prefer to the T300 (given my ecosystem buy-in and the stupid CSWv2 prices in EU).

My T300 arrived from the replacement, it's in the same way.

I just don't know what to do now.
It's all Logitech's fault, not supporting your old wheels on the PS4 and taking so long to reveal the G29. Thrustmaster??? NOT ANYOMORE!

I´m using my T300 for almost three weeks now and so far I`m very happy with the wheel. The pedals are OK. But I´m thinking about upgrading to the T3PA.

Now that I´m finally through this whole thread, I stumble over this adapter

New Thrustmaster product : the DB9 PEDALS T.RJ12 ADAPTER.
Price : Only 9,99€ / £9.99

Available for Europeans countries here: http://shop.thrustmaster.com/en_gb/db9-pedals-t-rj12-adapter.html

Do you think I could combine it with this adpater http://www.fanatec.com/eu-en/pedals...edal-adapter-cabel-for-fanatec-wheels-eu.html and a DB9 M/M Coupler (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00005111T/?tag=gtplanet-20) in between to use fanatech pedals with the t300.

So I would end up with Fanatech pedals -> Fanatech to Logitech adpater -> DB9 M/M -> Logitech to Thrustmaster adapter -> t300 wheel. The adapters would be around 20 EUR and the fanatech pedals would get more interesting.

Good question. Seems like it would work. I'm no PC expert by any means, but it should all "talk" to each other as they should.

If you want to be the brave tester and it works (on console?) I'm sure a lot of guys will be very interested in your results!

Why all the complexities when there's BasherBoard CPX Adapter. (Check for availability though)

And for all newcomers to this thread. For your convenience, all known mods, drivers etc. are available in the original post (OP) https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/thrustmaster-t300rs-racing-wheel-thread.311143/

Anything new, please share and I'll update the OP.

Because it is 70 USD vs. ~ 25 USD. If it would work the described way, why spend more money and potentially wait much longer?

Fair enough on the price difference. CPX Adapter provides extra features though whether they are justifiable depends on each individual.

Best of luck and let us all know whether it works or not.

PS. I assume you need PS4 compatibility otherwise you just need a USB adapter from Fanatec then straight to PC.

This Price won't last long, Sales rep said she doesn't know when it will be over, SO if you can jump NOW and add the care plan since reliability is said by some to be questionable.

Since you list the T3PA pedals there, you probably should also list the Bodin Solutions BLC-T3PA Load Cell Mod:

Currently out of stock, more to come shortly! ;)

Better save your money and buy a wheel that last more.

Maybe Walmat wants to clear out old/first generation stock? I'll gladly take a chance if I'm in need of a wheel and live in the States. That price is that same as Logitech's G29.

I bought a T300RS a week ago, NO problems so far, but Walmart offers a 4 Year Service plan for $37.00, I got that too. Logitech is $399.99, this is only $299.00. plus I would never buy a Logitheft after how they failed to upgrade the G25 & 27 to make it compatible to the PS4, then recycle the same G27 with new skin for 399.99 and call it a G29. Thrustmaster has interchangeable steering wheels and pedals A great shifter, a great ecosystem. Logitheft can't match it.

Yeah, the Thrustmaster products are great but.... the they are having serious problems with the durability.
Is problem after problem, from the people that i know and play together with, only one didn't had any kind of problem with his TM wheel(a T500).

Logitech don't supoort his old wheels is bad, yeah it is. But come on... at least their wheels last some years. Yes, i'm mad with TM, i spent a good amount of money with the wheel, shiffter, pedals and cockpit. Money that will not be able to spent again anytime near.

If you live in a place where TM support exist, than i think that it's fine, but my wheel failed with 10 months old. only two for the end of warranty. Leandro Barbosa(who posted here in GTP) bought a T300 and with 3 weeks the same problem as mine, Leandro Praxedes, a guy who used to race with me, bought a T300 and in the FIRST week the wheel got brokenhe replaced the mother board and the wheel is work fine until now(I think that it have 11 months now).

But here in Brazil, only to send the wheel to TM's support is almost halt the price of a new wheel, then we have to pay to get it back at our homes, so, it's almot the same of buy a new one. And let's not forget Bruno(a brazillian gtp user) who send his T300 base and TM sent the TX base to him...
