What's up with your PS2 SVX? My PS2 once didn't read GT4 but it start reading perfectly after cleaning the lens. Until yesterday when I needed to restart my PS2 3 or 4 times, until GT4 started.

My dad replaced the whole laser assembly, and that cost about 30 dollars. Dad has been putting a lot of time into it and we've found out it's most likely the motor, which we all know that's not going to be cheap. Sorry for the huge annoyance (because you can't really see if your right).

Yes, now it's official. My PS2 is dead.

All he had to do was clean the laser assembly with a tap of alcohol without taking it apart. He would have had to break off a piece from another to do what he did. Tell him he don't know jack 🤬.
