These GT Sport criticism threads are really starting to grind my gears now. This must be the third one I've seen.

If you don't like the demo, don't buy the full game. Simple right? That's what the Demo is for. & isn't there a GT Sport whining & crying thread?

dude, tell me about it. I wish we would lock this stupid thread already.. It adds NOTHING.
OP's last option "I'm apparently a 'moron' and 'troll', and Gran Turismo is 100% perfect and how dare I critique it" speaks for the thread.

Remember while in school when people are happy and doing happy and fun thing, one single geek comes along and tries be a killjoy and works with the school teacher to change the rules to stop the fun...So these geeks feel so important and special? That is what has happened to our GT Franchise! SIGH!

Without geeks you wouldn't have any computer games. You wouldn't even have a computer. You would probably be stuck in a primitive agrarian society and be dead by the age of 40 because nobody had been geeky enough to study basic medicine.

But yeah, that's totally worth it just to have some fun and happy times.

When ever I read geek I see socially unpopular. Disappointing that these words are thrown around to describe people, so my ignore button has been used for the first time.

Maybe you don't like what he's doing. That's fine. But lots of people here love the way he's taking this game to another direction.

Don't buy it and move on. Sony will decide what to do when the sales figure come in. Simple as that.

You really think that? Kaz is untouchable as a figure, considering how often Sony is shedding first party studios left and right, even though they are succeeding. See Evolution.

At this point, the only ones that are safe are Naughty Dog and Polyphony.

While the OP didn't exactly convey the message correctly, I think the topic of the thread is sound. It really could be time for Kaz to step aside and let someone else take control.

Gran Turismo, for the past for releases, have lagged behind it's competitors in a number of ways. Also, several of the decision made regarding the game could be seen as questionable (like including PS1 era "standards" in a PS3 game). Not to mention the countless delays.

So, like I said, the OP could have brought this point up in a better way, but the discussion is one worth having especially with the direction GTS is supposedly taking.

I came back from work ...after a 1 hr drive being careful I am not hitting other cars and then I take off my shoes and want to relax and get my PS4 and start GT... now I want to drive as I want to in Dirty NASCAR... not drive carefully that I not nick another car and incur penalty!

This is no way to relax!

This is GTPlanet!!

Well, with that out of the way welcome to :gtpflag:

Care to explain how this latest version of GT is a game changer? What is it going to change? Every other dev going to add scapes? Every editor? It's been done. Esports, online rating? It's been done? What does GT have other than polish that no other game has?

just from the demo anyone with a half brain can feel the quality difference between GTS and other franchises. This level of quality and details doesn't happen because one has a superior console or technology. It happens due to work diligence that Kaz and PD has put into their products. Yes, the polish alone is worth every penny for this game and it alone is a game changer.

Just think about this, many car manufacturers can make fast cars but it's the quality that separates them apart. Or look at the watches; Why do people pay that much money for Rolex when we can have a watch that does the same for fraction of the price?: QUALITY.

I now sound like a fanboy but I'm really not. I do believe in quality products though.

That's not correct. The standard cars were of PS2/PSP quality, not PS1.

This is what PS1 models look like:

And this is their standard car versions:

Man, you can never win.

You try to make a conservative sequel, people complain about no real changes in your game (Fifa, Far Cry).
You try to shake things up a bit and take the game to a new direction, people are mad and want it the way it was before (GTS, Forza).

I personnaly like GTS, Forza, PCars, Asseto Corsa, ect...
I simply play the one matching my mood at the moment.

I was under the impression that some of the models used in GT3/4 where upscale models from GT1/2. At least back in the day that was talked about.

If not, then you can change my statement to "like including PS2 era "standards" in a PS3 game". Either way, still a questionable decision on the part of PD in my opinion.

add every Need For Speed to both examples.

Modes and content can be added, but no point adding them to a crap foundation. Thankfully, that’s not what we have. Take it or leave it for what it is.

While I can sympathise with your opinions of the game/series, your ideas for change are misguided.
GT is and always will be Kaz. It is first and foremost a love letter to automobiles (or car porn if you like). All aspects like realistic (matching real world practiced) racing have always been secondary. It's more about the car experience and emotions, a more spiritual perspective, than authenticity and practicality. Kaz, for better or worse, is creating a product based on a vision that is 99% his and not much else, as would an artist (painter, musician, etc). This is not common these days in the world of products created and sold based on marketing and max sales numbers. This has its good and bad to it as anyone who has been on here reading players opinions has heard all of it.
My point is that if yoh don't find his product compelling, it is not the right attitude to demand changes, esp with PD as we all know how little they respond and communicate with the fan base (compared to others). If you want a game where something is more to your liking you will have to let go of GT and support other games that respond to fans more or are making a game that has potential. PCars, for all it's bugs, would be a fair example. The more people support them, they could eventually have PD level budgets to make the game that Kaz won't.
Expecting Sony/GT/Kaz to change is futile and silly, they have no reason to. It's like a bad realtionship where you once really liked someone but they have all this other negative stuff getting in the way you wish would change, but they're not, and you have just be able to let go and move on.
That's my plan anyway.

please....

Did you even read the article? It sums up what GT Sport is exactly about and what it means for people who may expecting a typical GT game.

The fact that it was written last year is irrelevant.

Would the career mode be added? Is that planned for sometime in the future? if so, I can wait. No hurry.. Err.. Hurry please!

Without that the main part of the GT Franchise this is a new something...a hollowed out GT7.

I don't know, some of us (me at least) spend all their time racing online. I have never finished a career mode because I get no excitement out of it. I only did them to gain money to purchase cars and parts. Real (good) human racers > any AI ever.

A Nice review here.

This is not the racing game you’ve been waiting for
Ability to earn a real-world racing license from in-game driving, not much else.

That's not a review, it's an opinion piece. For a review you typically test the product before you publish your opinion about it.

I was under the impression that some of the models used in GT3/4 where upscale models from GT1/2. At least back in the day that was talked about.

If by "upscale" they mean "remodeled" that might be right. But then it's a new model and not a PS1 model anymore. Anyway, the quality difference is obvious, so there can't be any question about it.

Сіз адамдар туралы сөйлескенде қандай проблема бар what problem is kaz you speaking about people?

Fine words, but it’s just a game, no point getting emotional about it. Plenty of other racers to go at either as well as or instead of. Yes it might be Kaz’s game, why is that a problem? One of my best mates is a head chef. Unless the food is badly prepared (rare) he doesn’t care whether people like it or not. It is his food, his ideas and the way he sees it, people are invited to eat there. If they don’t like it they can choose to eat elsewhere. If they do, they come back for more. Just like people are invited to his demo and invited to buy his game. Don’t like it? Move on, it’s pretty simple really.

A year ago we did not have an open beta to test the game with hand (there is a topic ocn 11 pages of opinions :)) .
I do not need to read it because with over a year and 5 months difference the opinions can change :)

I liked online too... Particularly the Dirty NASCAR ... it used to be very popular in addition to the career mode... The time series is the most boring.. just driving all by myself... no fun.
