My question is why is one of the time trials at Grand Valley again? Granted they have us going the other way this time. But with all the tracks to choose from, for some reason they decided to send us on the same one 2 time trials in a row.

Anyway, IMMORTALPILOT's time is absurd.

IMMORTALPILOT, you're the boss, I'm exactly 3.5 seconds slower than you! (1:03.875 and 368th place)

Have been giving these a go few the last few hours and can only seem to manage half a second inside the gold times for both so far, i am sure i can get another second at least still, will do some more runs later. :D

The BMW felt quite nice on the DS3... looking forward to trying it with the wheel later. Feels like the one I'll concentrate on this round 👍

Hi Stotty, a few weeks back I saw your discussion, or thoughts, regarding replacing your G27 with a Thrustmaster T500 and that you were not willing until one of the very fast guys would improve on their times with it (or something in that manner). Did you get a replacement?

I actually bought one a few weeks ago to replace my G27. Right from the start I could drive the same lap times as I did with the G27. Unfortunately I can't say I suddenly gained half a % per lap but I am not slower either.

I found out how to change the angle of rotation during game play from 900 degrees to 540, 360 etc and am now experimentation if there is actually an advantage. This something the G27 cannot do for sure.

Thanks for the feedback 👍

I was almost ready to order a new G27, but thought I'd wait until my I'd had my Porsche serviced and MOT'd just in case... good job I did as it failed the MOT on Wednesday this week :(

Until I know exactly how much it's going to cost to put right I'm holding off on getting a new wheel (likely the bill will be at least £1k, and could be as much as 2k - this on top of a £3.5k transaxle rebuild in September!).

Do you like the T500?

There are 2 bits of negative feedback I've read about it - 1) it's a bit slower to change direction than the G27 (ie; lock to lock) and 2) sounds like they can be a bit unreliable (plus Thrustmaster customer service is not as good as Logitec).

First world problems :-D It is expensive to drive and maintain cars like that!

I do like the wheel, it feels very very nice. The steering, the pedals. Also the way it connects to the stand. It's solid and precise. I wanted to buy one a few years back when I was living in the US but the horrific customer service stories held me back. Now back in the Netherlands I ordered at a supplier I trust and has good reputation, I figured I would get the service from them.

An other thing to get used to is that the shifters are fixed to the stand not to the wheel. I did get the Ferrari add-on, where the shifters are attached to the wheel again.

Just done an hour on the FGT trial and am very slowly getting the hang of it.. Got a 1:02.609 so far for 185th

2:12.233 with the Z4 for 27th place. I am the 4th fastest DS3 and I hope I can pass samurai tomorrow.

I managed to get some time to try these with my wheel last night after work.

The FGT is bit too quick for my old reflexes, but the BMW feels lovely. It's a bit understeery in the faster corners, but rotates really well in to the slower corners - with brake balance at 5,7 it has loads of controlable brake release oversteer, and everything happens so progressively... very nice.

Looking forward to giving the BMW a good run today :)

Am I the only one who hates FGT? :embarrassed:

No, you aren`t.

I don`t care about my lack of talent or patience. I hated FGT from the very beginning (like I never got a relation to the X2010). The more I do in the latest seasonal.

So I leave it to the lovers.

I'm at 2:15.337 with a messy lap and maybe 5/6 runs so far. Running 4/7 brake balance. If you don't mind sharing, what brake balance are you running?

Love driving this BMW...

The BMW is lovely... very nice balance and just the right amount of grip to keep it challenging... and so much fun backing it in to the corners on the brakes (using 5,7). I didn't spend a lot of time in it as I've also been having a go at the other events, but managed to knock 0.5 off the time I set last night - 2'12.169 for 29th.

Losing too much in T3 - manily the run from the last tight corner to the line. Need to work out the final tight corner and I'll be well in to the 11's :)

Had another go in the FGT too... down to a 1'01.598 for 56th, but a full 1.5s off top spot  I reckon a lot of DS3 users will struggle to gold that one.

In the FGT I am doing 2:02.2xx.

Do any of you guys feel like the FGT has weird handling characteristics? How much do you guys actually turn the wheel when turning? When I spin out I expect to turn the wheel like 180 but the car has a lot more steering angle than that lmao. Not sure how much you actually need though. Do any of you guys set a higher sensitivity or anything?

So true... I'm a DS3 (and AT) user, and as soon as i've seen the combo FGT/Mandrid i was something like... :scared: - :nervous: - :banghead:

Currently at 299th, with a messy 01:02.842... pretty sure i have at least 4-6 tenths.. maybe more... that damn last s...

The BMW on the other hand... oh man.. what an UGLY car...
Currently at 218 pos. with a desent (i think..) 02:13.867, i'll be pretty happy IF i can manage a :12,xxx (by stop drifting around...).

Good times considering you're using the Pad and auto 👍

It is extremely annoying that in the BMW you have to turn round at the start to get full speed over the line, why can't PD just think these things through and let us start at the proper last corner rather than before that slight bend in the straight! Rant over.

I have a good time in me, at least 2'11.5 maybe faster just need to put it together without crashing, it is too annoying right now though, probably doesn't help that I'm tired but I should improve when I have my next run :)

Because PD. :(

Your rant is justified since this is a trend. Basic things like this are reasons why a lot of people have wavering faith in PD.

But I do enjoy that we're all using the same car.

I have 1:03.812 with DS3 :D

And yeah, a lot of friends are telling me that they're struggling to even get bronze

Fast lap AJHG1000!
With much effort I got 1:07:582.
I'm a pad driver, you can imagine how much I'm struggling haha

I reckon a lot of DS3 users will struggle to gold that one.

I'm using 'stick/AT [0-0-1]' and yesterday i managed the gold after about 30 laps with 1:05.434, i am going to have another run at it shortly to try and drop another second from that, currently placed 3884th.

samurai is at a 2:11.275 with a DS3  I think i'll be happy if I'm the 2nd fastest controller this time

I'd be very happy with that, :dopey: .

Liking the GV TT, the car is fun to drive although it's going to take me awhile to get into the 11s. I'm going to have to work on my throttle application for sure.

There's an additional incentive this time, for going faster than your ghost on the GV TT: Not having to look at the back end of the Z4!

Did another 7 laps today and I'm down to a 2:12.116. I've been watching samurai's replay to see what I'm doing wrong and my god. His throttle control with a DS3 is amazing!! That is why I perfer the DS3 than the wheel.

so im using a ds3, I hear about people messing with brake balance on the fgt trial....can i do that? and how? Currently struggling to break my 1:06.9x
