Seems as though I have been being a little too conservative on some of the corners. Just checked a few of my latest "clean" replays and they would have been dirty according to the WRS standards for which I am used to running. I guess I just have to practice cutting the corners as close as I can before the red time pops up. Pretty lenient on some of the corners they are, but I can adapt...I guess. :sly: Not complaining at all, just stating a fact as I have just shaved off about .600 off of yesterdays time just by cutting the corners more. Currently down to 1'54.190, still leaving a lot of time out there.

What annoys me most about the hackers is I can't download a good clean ghost to see what the best lines are. It's all down to trial and error. I've been pushing the exit from the last chicane more and more and still haven't got a red. I'm using the Fruitycakes tune on the Gallardo from the Lambo seasonal now and down to a 1:56.02. Faster than the Miura but nowhere near as much fun.

me too...

Thanks all for the congrats. I really didn't do that many laps and was surprised how quickly I got up to speed! :scared:

Great time doodle! I am at 1:53.5xx with an old tune, would you please post yours.

I wish I could tell, but it is classified information that I can't share with you guys. Sorry. :(

I agree, I would never cut the corner this much in the WRS. But hey, you gotta do what you gotta do to gain the most time. Nice time, by the way. :)

Thanks Andrew...great time yourself also. I really don't like getting into the habit of cutting corners either but hey, if the time don't turn red, I guess its all good according to PD. I may not stick with this one much longer, really don't know yet. I'm having fun competing with everyone, just really don't care for the lenient penalty system. I mean, I can stay "clean" according to the WRS and what I'm used to and slip down the rankings, or I can see just how much more corner I can keep cutting and continue to gain time. I don't know man. I've always took a pretty hard stance against corner cutting, and here I find myself doing the very thing I used to get onto others about. :guilty: You see my dilemma here? I guess I'll keep going as its the same for everyone, I just feel guilty, or like I'm cheating somehow, even though I'm not...according to PD.

Yea, I know, I take the game way too seriously but hey, that's just me and who I am. :)

Take what you're allowed to take or what's given to you. Wrs and seasonal events have different boundaries and different limits to push.

Yea Brandon, I realize that. Its just that this goes against everything that I personally stand for and pride myself on, that's all. May sound stupid to most, but that's just who I am and what I'm about, you know that. Anyways, enough making a big deal about it, (talking about myself) I'll just continue on. :)

No wing, makes the car over steer for me. I'm using a "Praiano" (Thanks again 👍) tune, tweaked to my liking LP560. The 458 fresh out the dealership, no tune, no upgrade was no slouch either!

Ok thanks. Well my current tune has understeer issues with the wing. Might have to borrow Suba's or Skyline's Gallardo's I think. Friend request coming your way guys :D

Well, that's it for me today. Ended up with a 1'53.848. See you guys tomorrow. Great times everyone. Peace.

how about a hint doodle like how much weight did you add? I am now down to 1:53.0xx 2nd legit american :)

I have mine on share now, it has a slightly unconventional tune but that's how I like em....you can try it out too, send me an FR if you like.

I am currently at 1:53.688 with at least another half a second to grab, if not more.

Just used your car mate great tune adjusted the BB to my liking and also dropped the front end abit and softened the arb in 6 clean laps I dropped I've a second on my first set of runs to 1:53.505
Thanks for the share

Cheers mate, again a Great setup :):) my best TT so far.
👍👍

...Are folks running the rear wing?

The rear wing is going to choke ya down a bit too much on the straights at Monza IMO .. I forgot to remove it from one of the chassis I was going to use and the ghost looked back and laughed (even at minimal setting of 5 .. It wasn't doable for me) ...use weight to help stablise the car Instead .. Move it around till it suits.

Another huge step forward was fine tuning the camber and toe a little at a time...the tire contact patch is often over looked but VERY Important .. I do not understand why they add the ability to adjust camber (at least) w out tire temps to see progress. (Temps in GT6??? I hope!!)

...

With just a few tweaks in the above areas .. I jumped from mirroring the ghost at 1:57.5ish to now 1:56.5

Havin' a blast in the process 👍

...

Update: 1:56.024

...still tip toeing around in a few to many spots .. Gettin there a little at a time. Actually surpassed expectations at 1:57.5 .. So, pretty stoked to see some more time sittin on the track to be scraped up >> this puppy Monza is a simple but demanding lil sheet of ice .. I mean asphalt lol

I got 1:59.xxx with near stock power F40, save for the weight reduction, suspension and 5 speed close ratio :) No cutting corners, I tried to avoid the rumble strip as much as I can and drive like I would in real life, and there are a few places where I was too slow on exit :)

I've done 1.56.1xx with the wing set at 20 though it was a pretty sloppy lap so low 1.55's would probably be my limit. The car doesn't have great turn in either so I'm doing my best to go as slow as possible :D I also haven't run Monza before so still getting used to the layout. I'll grab a loaner and see what happens.

Sweet! Yeah, I didn't really think far enough into it .. If the gearing was right it wouldn't have been so bad for me. I would still think most are not using the wing here. Thanks for the info, I'll be tempted to give it a go later now that you mention it.

I know the feeling I never ran Monza till the Last Formula Challenge came out .. but it was waaay easier than these babys with all the downforce and grip of the F10.

I just broke into the 55's w a 1:55.8, still tip toeing but, w a little more determination!

Improved my time with F40, 1:58.09x.

I really am not interested in an argument (just a discussion) but, we are not expected to drive as we would in real life here, after all, it is a race track with sports cars using sports hard tyres, with the ability of changing your tune every lap.

It really is 'Horses for courses' here (and I did read cargo's comments previously)
So if the out of bounds line has changed for this race one should learn where it now is and take advantage of it, or to put it in a different context, adhere to the rules as they now stand.

I'm pretty sure you are a reasonable racer Ridox and therefore may be letting yourself down by not driving as fast as you can while remaining within the rules. Like most of the rest of us do.
Cheers.

^ I never cared about getting top spot at leaderboard. Just driving for fun, finding my own limit within my own set of restriction :) You can see why I never use any aids, even if it put me at disadvantages and harder to compete. I even strictly drive my hybrid replicas on street ( comfort ) tire as I would do if I were to drive them in real life.

My current time is 1:58.09x with the same F40, just enjoying the car really.

And

I ran a 1:56.5xx yesterday in the F40 with stage 1 WR & all sports parts [no turbo], set PL@96.3% for 529bhp
driving with all the race-pace i could muster out of the car, it really is a tough 'n' twitchy beast to drive.

I could probably manage a better time with more practice in it.

Fair enough, you dance to a different tune than many of us here do where the fastest time is our holy grail. It's easy to see how important winning is for some when they are unwilling to share their tune, but that's another story by itself.
More power to you that you set, and stick to, your own conditions.
Good luck.

We have different goals :), some just love to cheat :sly:, some will do anything within fairness boundary to win, some just driving for fun.

I ran 1:58.09x staying off the rumble strip, on 478HP, 1200kg, 5 speed close ratio, custom suspension ( used real life F40 spring rate and alignment ) and custom LSD. Weight reduction stage 3, added ballast and moved the weight balance a bit to the rear. No other power upgrades, stock exhaust, except turbo to get more mid rpm torque, then I used limiter to set the power close to stock F40 power. I don't even have 550PP with the car:dopey:

Like I said Ridox, you are a reasonable racer, probably better than reasonable in fact, and I think what you do is commendable. I am quite happy here when we all have to use the same car and tune, which you may or may not like yourself.

But back to the coal face, using my own (new) Gallardo (I had a few but they all had wings) and using a fair bit of of Suba's tune I have improved sightly to 1:53.950 @#229, just a tenth behind my old adversary Cargo.

Edit..Just about to hit the cot here (11:20pm) but will have a quick go with Skyline's shared Gallardo first.

I have put my own Gallardo on share now too as I won't be using it until tomorrow.

G'night all.

Good morning (here anyways) Dalone and others. I can see I'm going to have to get serious about this now, can't have you so close behind me. Great improvements everyone. 👍 Going to get some more packing and cleaning done today, then I'll be back into the rat race. (pun intended ) See you guys on the track. 👍

You do know that you can get rid of wings in the GT Auto section, Dalone? Just use the 'restore to original' (or some such) option... 👍 :)

Yea, that's right. A lot cheaper than buying a whole new car. But then again, who's worried about credits nowadays anyways.

Tis right tho..... I bought another new Gallardo just for this TT to match the one I already use for hot lapping, the only difference with the new one is the addition of engine tuning stage 3 for more torque at the expense of power and funnily enough, it is the one that has given me my best time so far.

506bhp/53kgfm = 1:53.688
495bhp/58kgfm = 1:53.512

They have identical tunes tho except for the LSD because of the torque difference, and are both on share.

Another thing that you want to look at is the power to weight ratio. The lower that number, the better. The car I am running right now is at 2.27/HP and is easily faster than my higher HP cars which weigh more. Yes, I am only at a 1'53.848, but I'm easily leaving at least a good second out there by still being too conservative on the corners. Anything starting at say 2.42/HP and lower will be your ticket.

Also, make sure you are making good use of your powerband. My powerband is from 6500rpm - 7200rpm and I have found that shifting at 7100 - 7200rpm to be the optimum shift point for me. I took the car to the Test track and ran tests at different shift points to figure this out, something I do to every car I use for a time trial event.

Yes I know this all to well... most cars have better ratios at their lowest weight, but there are exceptions that seem to optimize to the same ratio [or better] at a higher weight as well as at their lowest, but the only time I feel the need to add ballast to any car is if I want more weight over the driving wheels for RWD cars or if I want a 50/50 balance [or as close as I can get to it] and that isn't very often.

Most of my cars that I use regularly are tuned to the lowest ratio they can go to and the power to weight ratio figure is the thing I glance at the most on the settings screen as I am adjusting a cars tune for optimum PP efficiency. 👍

Ok, that's cool. Just trying to offer up some advice, that's all. Wasn't aware how well into tuning you were. 👍
