You want to try to straighten out the 3 chicanes so that you go through them as straight as possible. đź‘Ť

Make use of the green sections, but only with the outside tires.

Some cars also get better times by using the darker sections of track (where it's driven on IRL) versus PD's driving line.

Driving line? Whats that? Also, not to start a debate or anything, but I have also heard the exact opposite of the darker sections of track. I have seen people say that those sections are in fact slipperier. I have done a little testing on that myself and for me personally, I have found no difference. To each their own on that though, just go with what you believe I guess but I have seen no hard evidence to support that one way or the other.

And also, as far as the chicanes are concerned, I have had all 4 wheels in the green sections before with no red lap times. That's what I was saying earlier about the penalties being rather lenient on this time trial, as opposed to what I'm used to anyway running in the WRS.

Cargo: I usually only use the driving line when I haven't been on in a while, testing for a challenge, or if I'm in an unfamiliar car. I got the feel of this car, so it's gonna be off now. If I had a wheel I'd try ABS off, but with a DS3 all I do is lock up the tires, even though I can control throttle/ brakes fairly well with x and []

*Tune coming soon:
Had to restart the game, I couldn't select "OK" after getting a 1:58

Its no big deal, really. (driving line) I was just having a light-hearted moment with you, that's all. đź‘Ť Didn't mean to offend you. :)

You didn't offend me. I have great respect for you, and whenever I see your name in a debate I tend to read through the whole thing. You're viral!

I try not to use any aids except ABS, but if I want to do better I tell myself "well...it is a game right?".

Wow, well alright, really appreciate the compliment. đź‘Ť Its very much appreciated my good friend. Just didn't want any misunderstandings as I was only kidding around with you. đź‘Ť As far as aids, if it helps you out, go ahead and use them, (except SRF of course ) I just wouldn't become dependent on them if you are serious about your game play. I myself still use ABS1, sometimes 10, just depends on the car and track. Been slowly getting used to no ABS, just don't have the confidence to not use ABS in a TT yet as I am still faster with it on....and probably always will be.

But kudos to you for only using ABS, especially if you're using a DS3. I have a lot of respect for you, Dalone, and others who are playing with the DS3 and are consistently quick.

I use DS3 and got 1.54.455, im pretty sure i can cut off 1 sec if id find these right breaking points...

Great timing.

Which car You are using?

Thank you, i used Gallardo LP 560-4 '08, stage 1 engine, no weight beside a hood, and sport ecu, and my own setup. I have 1405kg, 571HP and 550PP, i really have no idea is that all good or bad or normal tune :) probably giving another go tomorrow.

I'm using the ds3 too I'm at 1:52:613 with the braking points just think 200 meters for the big braking zones seems to work really well for me

200m points are wayy Late for me...gonna have to break much earlier, so there might be my bad tuning...

It's been some time since I've ran a TT on hard sport tires, took a few laps to get in the swing of things again. Achieved a 1:59.567 in a SP1 with bolt-on's, a set that seems OK. Not truly sure though need to run the car more so I can get in the grove again. ( I feel like dancing:sly:!!!)

Has anyone found a good breaking point going into Parabolica?

Small Gains is better than no Gains lol >> 1:55.408

Actually have made decent progress in the consistency of the mid 55 lap times and that is what's most important to me. It's one thing to be able to cook off a quick lap it's another to be able to mirror that ghost .. And that's what the goal for me is. Step it up a bit at a time .. Then be consistent w that time.

...sure would be nice to be able to catch a draft off that puppy though!

Update: 1:54.867

Got into the high 55's, though red my time at the last turn. Need to work on the set a little more, may get into the high 54's later work.

Car is on share. Going to go have a go at the new WRS TT. Peace.

EDIT: Friend requests go to my main, cargorat323. Space is limited as I believe I'm at the limit now. No blank f/r, those will be deleted.

So I logged on to my account just now, got two in game mail messages saying I hacked.  I'll be giving it another go tonight. Hoping to get closer to the 1:50.9 mark.

No one would call me a tuning guru and I admit I am a complete novice in this area, BUT, I would suggest, if no one else will, that it looks like you are using a lot of ballast, maybe 200kg and that could explain why you are having a little trouble with your braking.

I would seriously suggest you remove just about all your ballast, and don't worry about coming down from 571hp as most are using around 500hp to 520hp as far as I know.

I would be interested in what your power to weight ratio is, see Cargo's post below;

"Another thing that you want to look at is the power to weight ratio. The lower that number, the better. The car I am running right now is at 2.27/HP and is easily faster than my higher HP cars which weigh more. Yes, I am only at a 1'53.848, but I'm easily leaving at least a good second out there by still being too conservative on the corners. Anything starting at say 2.42/HP and lower will be your ticket.

Also, make sure you are making good use of your powerband. My powerband is from 6500rpm - 7200rpm and I have found that shifting at 7100 - 7200rpm to be the optimum shift point for me. I took the car to the Test track and ran tests at different shift points to figure this out, something I do to every car I use for a time trial event."

Hope this helps, cheers. And thanks to Cargo for the info.

Made my first attempt at this TT today.. using a Murcielago LP 640 and a modified version of Praiano's tune for it, I've managed a 1:56.210 using sticks.

Still missing a few braking points, have to get it riding the curbs a little better, and I am only getting the first chicane right every 3rd lap at best so a 1:55.??? will make me happy. I know I am nowhere near the pace of the really fast guys.

I'm thinkin' you'll be hittin the 1:50.5 mark before u know it .. Go get em!đź‘Ť

...

...sad the idiots set the good ones up for ridicule!

I think PD needs to come up w an automatic tech inspection. You press "Start" .. Roll out and the car sits to be scanned! today's technology should be able to handle something of the sort .. I would think.

Another small improvement to 1:53.737 ..#273. All due to a detour onto the 'dark' area in the 2nd chicane.

You'll be surprised just how much of a detour you can take there, among other places.

@Dan: I'm thinking a 1:50.5 is stretching it a little, even for doodle. More like a 1'50.8xxx. I'm having a hard time believing L_E_O_N_I_S's 1'50.234 is legit. I'm going with GT_Rajman's time of 1'50.821 as being the first legit time.

Yeah, I really didn't know what the top dogs were runnin for sure .. Just tryin to help pump him up to reach for the sky.

...heck at this point i'm thinkin >> is a 1:54.5 even possible  ...for me anyway .. Honestly didn't think I'd make the 54's at all... We'll see if a .5 is out there....

And like I said, a 1'50.5xxx is out of the question. I have a pretty good handle on what can and can't be done, and there is no way you are going to do a 1'50.5xx. Dan may think you are Superman, but I don't.

Yeah well not sure about Superman....

L_E_O_N_I_S's time on the Tsukuba TT is listed as 0:57.985. So... yeah, I don't think so. Why should we trust someone who sets such suspicious times?
