The F40 with 1200kg and 517HP ( stock turbo ) - no oil change, at 550PP is good for 2.28kg/hp ratio, if anyone interested.

Going to have to try that, sounds promising. Thanks Rido, appreciate the info. 👍

Ok, that's cool. Just trying to offer up some advice, that's all. Wasn't aware how well into tuning you were. 👍

It's all good, the advice is out there for those who could use it. :)

My Precious....hehe

Been a Playstation/Gran Turismo fan since day one, I rarely play any other games, I use Both PS & PC and my game stash mainly consists of racing titles, for racing I have around 150 and then 50-60 of other type games.

I have already tried the F40, it is a handful.

Another thing that you want to look at is the power to weight ratio. The lower that number, the better. The car I am running right now is at 2.27/HP and is easily faster than my higher HP cars which weigh more. Yes, I am only at a 1'53.848, but I'm easily leaving at least a good second out there by still being too conservative on the corners. Anything starting at say 2.42/HP and lower will be your ticket.

Also, make sure you are making good use of your powerband. My powerband is from 6500rpm - 7200rpm and I have found that shifting at 7100 - 7200rpm to be the optimum shift point for me. I took the car to the Test track and ran tests at different shift points to figure this out, something I do to every car I use for a time trial event.

Tis right tho..... I bought another new Gallardo just for this TT to match the one I already use for hot lapping, the only difference with the new one is the addition of engine tuning stage 3 for more torque at the expense of power and funnily enough, it is the one that has given me my best time so far.

506bhp/53kgfm = 1:53.688
495bhp/58kgfm = 1:53.512

They have identical tunes tho except for the LSD because of the torque difference, and are both on share.

GREAT Points .. Another reason to stay tuned to GTPlanet :gtpflag:

Yesterday's session was w/ out the engine stage 3 (not yet fully broke in .. BSpec boys took care of that 4 today). As of yet though, I can't give a real choice to which I liked or had the best performance .. It's all been about driver line and working on drive off.

The above info will be VERY HELPFUL moving forward now in the 55 bracket. Getting more consistent and confident. Putting the optimal package together is what it's all about now.

...

Thanks too all who have added tech tips and advice .. This is why I 1st found GTP and has helped me progress to even attempt a TT. It's one thing to be a decent driver .. But ya gotta have a chassis that works!

You're welcome. Glad I could be of some assistance. Always happy to pass along tips and tricks that were passed along to me back when I was still trying to find my way along. Without the help of the more experienced and skilled drivers here on these forums, I wouldn't be in the spot that I'm in today. Very grateful for all those that have helped me along and those that continue to do so. Always learning new things myself.....an aspiring virtual racer's work is never done. 👍

Just bought a new car tried the power to weight ratio and guess what,
i took another 6 tenths off easily.
will be giving this a good go tomorrow am.
Car is on share use the black gallardo.
Thanks to cargo for the hints.:gtpflag:

True That!

Taking your input from above .. I've reduced my ratio to 2.40 from 2.44 on the no stg3 eng chassis for starters (the other was at 2.46 I think .. will deal w/ that one ltr) .. Not wanting to go to drastic .. We'll see how that goes and see if it can be reduced more! ...or may have to bump it back up a bit will see .. Right now cornering especially the 1st chicane is key .. Will be no good in da grass lol

Hope ALL goes well w/ your move!

Thanks guys and glad I could help. Not had much time today, but did experiment with some add-on parts while trying to keep the power to weight ratio down. Right now I'm at a 2.29 with the ECU and Titanium Racing Exhaust. Managed almost another .200 off my time, but still working on the corner cutting. I had gained almost .500 just coming out of the last chicane alone before the straight, but lost most of it in that last big right-hander to the straight coming to the line. Today was mostly an experimental day, which I hadn't really planned on, but I should be good to go for tomorrow. I'm at 1'53.731 right now and pretty confident I can get at least another second off of that. Anyways, that about does it for me today. See you guys tomorrow. Peace.

EDIT: Just took another .450 off my time with a last minute run. :D Down to 1'53.281. There ya go Dalone, getcha some of that.

How? How do you get to that ratio with the ECU & EX? i can only get that without the addons.

Is this a car with 5,000 or more mileage on dirty oil?

Oh, and congrats on moving ahead of me. :)

hmmm...?...? Must be a typo .. the suspension/trany settings didn't show up?? Maybe if I refresh the page it will load all the important missing info

No, not a typo. All the important information is there that pertains to the question asked. 👍 Suspension and transmission settings have no bearing on power/weight ratio. 👍 Have a good night/day gentlemen and I'll be back tomorrow. Peace.

Not a typo, the settings i was enquiring about do not affect what you are looking for.

Used skylines Lambo on share and got a 1:53.459 making some adjustments to his differential and brake balance a touch. Nice tune skline and this is a better time than I was thinking I could do within the first week. Just not my best track and need to really clean up sector three to try and gain a second if possible.

You do know that you can get rid of wings in the GT Auto section, Dalone? Just use the 'restore to original' (or some such) option... 👍 :)

Holy shmoly, what about that! No, didn't know that, in fact I took one back to where you put the wings on and clicked on something which I though might do exactly that, but it didn't. Figured they must be like weight reductions etc.

But I'll certainly give it a go (when the kids stop playing) as a couple of my Gallardo's have more miles up, albeit under 2,000 km I think.

Anyway, thanks for that little titbit, much appreciated.

Edit...Unfortunately they both have stage 3 engine upgrades and I know I can't undo that. Was able to take the wing off though.

Does anyone have the setup for the Lamborgini Murcielago LP 640 '09 or the thread for this setup?

They do (I think), it's just that Dalone appears to have copied them directly from a post, so the "..." in the middle is part of the link. I'm sure he'll fix it soon. :)

Long day, not nearly as much time on track as I planned... Stepped up a tad > 1:55.447

Finally getting a better entry to 1st chicane .. The tendency is to want to go deep .. but overdo it >> then forget it! ...when hit right it's a beautiful thing. Just need laps to build confidence and consistency w the quicker lap times...

...had an awesome lap going w/ over a second on my last of 1:55.7 ..then well, got tense and ambitiouse/not wanting to screw up >> so then >> I screwed it up haha .. it's out there for the taking... Just can't give up! (Really like a bone head I just stuffed it in the last right to hard .. Hung it out .. Had a nice drift going .. Then well 2 more feet of pavement would have been nice to have... Really need to get a wheel w some peddles .. could have controlled it a bit better maybe... > maybe! .. Or maybe I should have just chilled w what I had! ok, I'm done rambling it was just frustrating to say the least!)

...

Impressive times being posted on here by you all .. Keep up the GREAT work! 👍

I hadn't looked at it like this before. I thought I was struggling because of the tune. I left everything the same and only adjusted power and weight to get 2.31 kg/HP. That gave me a 1:53.062 lap (down from 1:53.9xx) after a few runs. Thanks for sharing the info and for breaking it down like that. It was a big help.

Thanks mate yeah my LSD not quite there yet but I like it more on the aggressive side and I favour a high BB more to do with my driving style but it work for some not for others still a low 52 in it thou red lapped a few being 0.5 up

Thanks for the prompt response but the link to the 640 tune does not exist anymore.

Sorry, I don't know how to do it. In any case all I did was go to the Tuning Forums here and click on Praiano and scroll down to his tunes.

Failing that just Google 'best tune on GT5' for your car and many will come up.

Here it is after all, mind you it is set up for 600PP and racing tyres.

Weight reduction 3
Window weight reduction
Carbon hood

Engine stage 3
ECU

The Gallardo LP 560-4 '08 seems to be the most controllable car out there. Did a 1:58:715.

Anyone got a crazy setup for this car?

With Priano's tune (Sport Soft), did a 1:57:377, to put me on the rank of 3029. Using a DS3.

Shall I try his Online version setup for the car or Sports soft setup is more apt for the TT?

You're welcome, glad I could help. And yea, power/weight ratio can be an important factor. Torque can be too for certain tracks. Its a delicate balance getting the right amount of torque (adding bolt-on parts such as the ECU and such) for certain tracks and keeping the power/weight ratio down. I do about two days worth of testing for each TT that I run before I even get serious about cutting good lap times. I'm kinda like a mad scientist that way. Anyway, congrats on the improvement....more to come I'm sure. 👍 Peace.

Funny, using pmjg66' tune and cargo's p/w suggestions, I got exactly the same time as pmjg66. 1:53.078.

Thanks guys

Improved to 1:57:067, ranking is now 2558.

The trick is to get the braking perfect, with the turn ins.
