Out of school for December which means time for GT7, and I picked the worst TT to begin my "comeback" tour with!
I stepped right into the RB at NB 24hr and it's, well... something. If "something" means being more frustrated with a TT than ever! And this one is
intense, especially in VR. I don't know if my neighbors could hear my yelling or not, but there were some loud moments for sure... haha.
I knew better that to start here, and knew the stakes are high in this one, but went in anyway. Haven't even spent time with the S2K at GV or at Maggiore yet... just a few hours in the RB lamenting my life choices.
In the beginning I was in the 6:40s, and after a bit I looked at some fast laps and noticed everyone was out braking me by a LOT. In turn one others are braking at 75ish, whereas I was lucky to get things hauled down braking at 150. Stepping out and into controller settings I was only getting 76% braking! I have no idea how long this has been a thing (I can't remember the last time I looked at any of my pedal values), but it looks like my braking has been neutered for a looong time. Like, months or longer.
Now I had to erase a lot of what I was doing and completely recalibrate to the car actually braking as intended. Easier said than done. I don't know how many invalidated laps I've done, but it may be in the hundreds. I'll have many runs where I don't make it out of turn one, and lots where I don't make it to the Nordschleife. It got the point of diminishing returns after about 2 hours of constant lapping, so I had to step away from it for now.

That's where I'm at for the moment. "Only" three seconds, but it feels like an eternity. I'm sure many of you can relate to the feeling of really nailing parts of a lap while watching your ghost disappear behind you, only to make a mistake and throw it all away.
I see that most people have moved on to Maggiore from this TT, and I get it! But I'll be putting in the work here before getting into those "easier" TTs. They will likely be a nice, relaxing time compared to this one!
