I think I just realized something. The current time trial takes place at the Daytona Road Course, and features the 2nd-gen Honda NSX, which is basically an Acura with a rebadging. The Acura ARX-06 won the Rolex 24 late last month. You don’t think…

Maybe it’s just me but I can’t figure out the first corner after the start/ finish line. Every time I lock the brakes and go flying. Help!

Had a bit of luck by pumping the brakes, got in one good lap, got a 1:58. Try again later, see if I can find those pesky three seconds.

I personally lawn myself some grass on the left , just cutting it a little, helps steady the car and gives me a better end of the braking zone, altho the fast guys go outside I think...

Try ASM on, TSC1 and for sure Countersteer strong. You will be amazed at how much easier braking is at T1. I turn TSC to 0 on the straights but it can be kept off after T1 if you don't need it. Except for the braking at T1 the car is driveable. I use AT and I kept the revs up even while braking...that helped keep it stable and keep the momentum up.

I am a low B driver and was able to get a 152.4.... mind you it took 50 tries...lol

Finally had a chance to have a go at this. Much prefer the time trials involving road cars. 1:51.xxx is possible if I can nail T1 and the bus stop on the same lap.
Pretty pleased with my attempt thus far. Don't have much time to attempt it again until the weekend.

Thanks for the tips!

Thanks, I’ll give it a try.

Someone at PD is paying attention - they fixed the images on the website.

Gold is withn reach but only if I game the system a bit - countersteer on for turn 1, then pause and turn it off. Feels like cheating.
I just left countersteer on for the full lap, ASM OFF because the car behaves funny to me with that on 🤣,
Aids are there to help, if they make me quicker I use it 😁
But I never did a hybrid-aid lap 🤣🤣, I think I would be out of focus also by pausing the game.

Over all I was just a little quicker with CS, rest off, (exept for the ABS ofcours)

Keep trying, you will get there 💪

Ok looking at your time with Countersteering assist on.. I am tempted to give it a go myself :D. Had a longer session yesterday after focusing on Daily races, managed to get a bit of consistency but it was slow consistency.. I'll put it down to tiredness. Still comfortably gold but really want to get into the top 1000 again this TT so I'll start putting the effort in now. Using the assist might just give me a bit more confidence with the car as with TC1 on the GT4/Nurb GP combo...

Couldn't get less than 2:01.xxx when this started, went away for a few days, came back and at last got under 2 minutes (1:59.3xx) today, so that should stay bronze, I hope. That turn 1 is just nuts in this car - only way I can get around without spinning off is brake really early, and very gently - and watch the seconds go whizzing by!

The Countersteering is def. going to lower your time, there arent that hairpin kind of corners where the CS would hurt you, braking for turn one is alot better with it!, i'm curious how much you can win :-)

My lap has still alot of things i want to see different but i'm sure that i can hit the 50's just need time

Good luck!

Bettered my time to 1:52:376 with an ideal lap of 1:51.6xx. Ran about 50 laps & feeling comfortable with M/T but have to hone my skills further.

One good thing about the time penalty system is if you've cut the corner a little bit or running wide a little, the penalty won't apply if you don't push for those next few seconds. The system understands you won't better you best time so the penalty isn't applied.

If I screw one of the corners at the bus stop which would warrant a penalty, I slow down. This allows me to start the next lap without being compromised where top speed is concerned.

1:54.0X here, with TC1 and CS
I'm still very temptative in each and every corner.
Do you a have reliable brake mark for the chicane driving from the cockpit?
I brake between the 3 and the 2 sign, but not having a real reference is causing very different results from lap to lap.
There aren't many points to chose from indeed, i slam the brakes just before 2, tried to get "on" 2 working, but it's just not doable for me , but you can get very close to the 2 marker, just not on it

The 2 sign is a safe option. Might be a bit late for the feeling the cockpit camera gives but can set you nicely during the entry. The exit is massively more important there anyway.
Jontikis is right, exit is the most important thing, makes or brakes your lap, you can even slide over the first corner of the busstop, altho i prefer to slow the car down due braking, but i have seen some fast drifting entries there

Thanks, will need to approach it step by step. By now 2 is too much for me, I'm probably not able to trail brake properly there (actually trail brake is still kind of a mistery to me)

SOLD! I'll have a go this afternoon, sounds like fun! If I make a second up, I owe you a coke :D

For T1, I stay way to the inside just after the tri-oval and keep the wheel straight when braking, letting the car move to the outside of the corner as the track starts to turn in, which naturally puts me back onto the racing line. Then I start giving a bit of steering angle once I've drifted to the middle of the track (the outside is bumpier and has less grip), and once I've slowed down enough I can turn in to the apex without losing the back end.

Even doing this, I still lose the back end about 1/3 of the time...

With CS i am actually slower no matter what i do, i am watching the guides but they seem to work for aliens with wheel more than us for controller, currently i,m only 0,00,05 into gold so no way that is gonna hold, optimal is 52,4, will have another go today as i think tomorrow the physics may change and who knows it may become harder.

CS is slow if opted for strong. Weak is the option to go for.

I did my 1:51:230 on strong ;) on controller :)
Alright you win! I made an easy second in a 20 minute session. Where do I send the coke to!? I’m definitely losing time on the bus stop chicane at the moment and that’s costing me a decent lap time.

I’m going to stick with the audacious plan for now and stick with countersteering strong and then as I get more confident spend more time with it off.

New target: 1:50.xxx 😎

Look at that beautiful time right there!, congrats my man, now we hunt together for that 50😁.
Good job!, if only I could have that coke.....🤣🤣

I don't know about everyone else, but I'm loving this TT. The chicane continues to be tricky for me, and not turn 1. However, ironically, I messed up turn 1 on my best lap (by a good 3 tenths!) and had a great bus stop. Optimal lap of 1:50.680. I'm a little bit worried about the potential for a slight physics change with the update coming up. I hope nothing hinders my chance at a 1:50.x.

Tracks
 - We adjusted the penalty system algorithm at the following two sections on the Daytona International Speedway Road Course:
  ・Pit Lane Exit
  ・Chicane Exit (Turn 11)

I wonder what effect this will have on the current time trial....
