I am simply incapable of driving this car...even after sdi provided me a saddle for the horse, I couldn't get anywhere near the 1:28 border. Gold is secured now, but I do wanna try to get sub 28 at least.

So much for that.
Do you have CS on?, i'm quite fast with this tune without CS , then low 28's , but with it on..... :)

Wow. Soooo glad I was able to improve my original gold time to 1:28.981 yesterday because I would have been quite sad this morning with the 0.15-second lowering of the times. Thank goodness because after 50-laps, 1:29.201 was best I could do this morning.

There were 5,447-drivers with the old gold time and now only 4,430 - 1,017-drivers sighing today when they log in 😂.

@half_sourly out of curiosity, does your scraper timestamp the top time? Would be interesting to see how the top time improves over the two week period. Like how much time change from first day to last and same thing during the final 7-days. Only if it’s easy and simple to do of course - and if you too are curious lol

Pretty often in low 28s while 27s are inviting me several times. Compared to P1 i am losing approximately 0.1 sec in every turn, but 0.3 sec in T5 , 0.4 at corkscrew and then 0.2 sec on last turn. Mainly what i see where I can improve is to start acceleration a bit earlier than I do currently, and to cut corkscrew a bit more narrow and let's hope for 27 😊

No, I only keep it at the mid-stage and at the end [ EDIT: I keep the end ones; quick access to that. For mid-TT I don't keep it, but publish it here]. You could go through this thread, where I've been doing mid-TT stats for a while, and compare the mid-point fastest time with the end fastest time. Should give an idea of it.
@half_sourly do you have number of people who got gold in your statistics? not percentage but the actual number. I wonder if this one is lowest number of people who are getting gold so far, or which one is it?
I do. This one, at this point in time, is still 'easier' by that measure than Fuji/SuperFormula, Suzuka/MP4, Road Atlanta/Red Bull X and of course Nürburgring Nordschleife/tuned Honda NSX Type R '02.

Nice stats, and that's a realy sharp optimum!, turn 5 is a weird one, only since the last 2 days i'm more agressive on it, break exactly when the sign 3 is out of screen and indeed trying to get on the power a soon as possible, but on my fastest lap i completely drifted to apex in 3th and completely powerslided thru the whole exit in 4th... so sliding was quite a bit faster for me than trying to not drift.

that 092 must be no problem for you!, keep pushing almost there!

I'll be trying this one out tonight! 👍 Thanks for sharing!!
@sdi_03 I tried your tune out but found the gearbox was just maxing out 75% of the way down the straights, so I was sitting at 205kph and not improving, losing time overall. I modified the final gear to max out at 225kph and instantly found 0.4s improvement over the lap. I like the majority of the tune but can't work out why you've made the gears so short?
FYI, I can't actually get the same ratios - have you used a gearbox glitch for this one? I had to get as close as I could, but the numbers were actually all a little higher (but the lowest I could make them).

I believe it was set the speed, then final gear (which makes them all really short) and then set gears in descending order. I don't believe it was one of those where you have to back out the manual adjustment screen and then back in for the ratios to change.

When you run into that situation, exit from the gear change screen and change the automatically set number. It will leave the final drive alone, but change all of the gear ratios. And will move the entire range of adjustments as well so that you can get it to the right numbers.

I set the speed, then final gear, then did the gears ascending. The first gear was the only one I could achieve the correct ratio...

I'll have a crack at that when I'm on tonight. Thanks!

....deep breath.....I am one of those 1000+ sighing. I finished last night at 29.004, it is By Far the best I've done outside of the 'gimme' gold that everyone got. Thanks largely due to this forum! But really, c'mon! Give it a rest guys!!!

You can just set the individual gear ratios and then set the final gear to match the speed for each gear from the gearbox creator.

This is especially useful if you have different engine mods installed (bore, stroke etc.), then you won't be able to match the desired values in any other way.
That's a fair point. I always aim to use the same ratios, but if the speed values are the same then the net effect should be roughly the same, right?

Well that leads me to a question that I've had on my mind for a while. How does final drive affect gear performance when you can also tune individual gears? Some people have high final drive and others low. But if the gears are all tuned to the same terminal speed does is matter?

Might final drive affect torque delivery to the wheels even though max gearing/speed is the same? Might I get to that terminal speed with a higher or lower final drive quicker?

All gearing is individual gear ratio multiplied by final drive ratio for total mechanical advantage. So a 2.0 first gear and 5.0 final drive will be equal to (And identical terminal speeds) as 3.0 and 3.33.

Boys the best set up for this tt?
HELP!
There are many good setups, it depends on your driving style, if you are on a wheel or a controller, if you use automatic gears...

For me @sdi_03's is manageable with my low driving skills on a controller with auto gearbox

Thats odd? I get 225kmh top for T1 braking. Or vlose to that atleast.
I set the final first. Then the aautomatic top speed. So you need to jump between the screens while you do this.
And set the individual gears last.

I have made 2 transmission set up. Last one is slightly taller and good eith the supercharged engine set up.

From previous experience, some cars like high final and some low.
For me the high 5.000 gived the best acceleration for this car.

Okay cool, that makes sense. Thanks, I'll try that tonight!

Anyone able to try my tune here and give feedback on it? Interested to see how others drive with it since it’s very different to other setups
The car bounces due to an imbalance in dampers, in seems that front damper may be close to rear.
On your setup i did 1.28.3 it seems, that he can 1.27.7xx
And as I understand your setup for 0 countersteering.
The car has a lot of torque, but it cannot be realized because of frequent shifting.
But overall your line of thought is correct.

The tune that finally got me sub 3% was a combination of @sdi_03 and @Mistah_MCA along with tweaks to gear ratios. Also key was having brake bias 1 to rear (which is not in the screen grab below).

EDIT: updated settings

29 flat with this and i still was like 0.3 better if i didnt shat my pants on the last turn, much better than sdi's for me, tomorrow i have no time but hope after tomorrow i can do it, last turn should i take it in 3rd ? 2nd seems not suitable.
Ps: a chart with what gear is best for each corner for this map would be great :)

Everyday the same awful driving... I am tired of being so bad.

If I had up all the 10th I gain during one lap, then I lose them a few second later... it's more than a second

I can't for the life of time string a lap with 100% "good" corners, I always butcher the next one if by some chance I did well in the previous one.

😖

Fingers crossed that my lap time remain in silver, I am unable to get even close.

To top it nicely, got a 3* ticket with 5k, hooray.

I think for me the turning point was finally just setting TC0 on last TT and forcing myself to keep it off (at least for the TT's). You'd be surprised how quickly you reduce the # of times spinning out or spinning the wheels, but you will absolutely shave time off your laps. I made the move MT back in like June and now it's second nature, so another thing I'd recommend doing.
