🤔easy gold ? Car that I had to buy for a café menu ? Might give it a go for 2M (seemingly) easy credits.

Plus you folks seem to have good fun.
As a heads up, when I was running this morning I decided to do 6-laps each of the following assist combos and no assists. TC0 for all - trust me, zero need for it. ABS default & on dual sense
1-6: ASM and CS-weak
7-12: ASM no CS
13-18: CS weak no ASM
19-36: no assists
37-46: ASM and CS-Weak
47-58: ASM
59-64: CS Weak
65-finish: no assists.

My takeaway: best with no assists. Surprisingly, was within 0.2 of new PB with the combo assists, but about +0.5-0.6 with just CS Weak and +0.4-0.5 with just ASM. That’s why I recycled the tests to account for muscle memory.

Other thing I’ll mention, I believe you said you use AT? I would reallllly recommend using MT which is quite easy on this TT and car as you really don’t need to shift much. But in order to get the faster times, when you shift makes a fairly large diff in time and if you turn in and are in wrong gear, zero chance to overcome. Definitely watch some of the track guides posted earlier in this thread

Yes I use the DS5 with AT, left stick for left-right, L2-R2 for braking and accelerating. And it is already a lot for my dumb brain.

To use AT I would have to use X and [] to change gears with my right thumb, but I use it to get a good hold of the controller, and I find it hard to reach those buttons.

Or I switch to braking/accelerating with the right stick and use L2-R2 for the gears. Which would be a big change of habits.

🤔

For an indication of how easy a fast time is in this TT, at just into the 1:26’s (1.02%, less than a second off WR), my time has dropped 100 places in less than 2 days with over a week yet to go. I might have to find time to better my time this weekend or risk dropping out of the top 1000.
Plus the number of people cutting times within 1/2 second of the WR with controllers is crazy.

100% agree

Going down to 2nd in the two hairpins only, and choosing the right moment to change up (just before 90kmh 2->3 and just before 147kmh 3->4) make itself a good chunk of the medal rush.
I think that AT complicates it a lot

Indeed. I'm 0.88% off #1 and at position 369, dropping about the same rate as you.
  • If I was 0.88% off #1 at the last TT, I would have been in position 44...
  • The one at Sardegna in the Gr.4 was similar. If you ended 0.88% off #1 there at the end, you'd be one of the drivers in positions 904 to 907.

1:31.176 after a few laps, still a long way to gold 😅

I need to learn my breaking points for each turn. Still to much braking on many corners at the moment.

I will have a look at videos from other drivers to learn from them.

[Edit] Watched @Mistah_MCA's video, I will improve by a huge gap lol (let's check that after the dinner). Thank's @Mistah_MCA your video is very instructive, now I have to apply your advices.

In the last one I lost 100 places over the last 5 days of it, and was 2.25% off the WR, finished in position 705. Which is roughly where I am in this one. Percentile is remarkably close to the same between the 2 at the moment, but 1.02% vs 2.25% is a big difference.
I've also only done just over 100 miles on this one in 3 short sessions and can definitely go quicker if I find the time to do so.

And will definitely give your previous experiment the confirmation about the forum, as constantly seeing people doing faster times in this thread has me wanting to go back to the TT to do better and better, rather than just beating a friend and locking out gold.

Well, decided to do some more laps. Now at 1:26.244. Optimal lap 1:26.1xx so I guess I have to keep pushing. Always get nervous when I'm ahead of the WR ghost and start making weird moves. :D

I also noticed you can now select my ghost and watch the replay in the global ranking.

8th! How does it feel to be in the top 10 IN THE WORLD!?? Can you post your replay on YouTube?

@Gomario JSP this guy is your alien!!

Applied part of @Mistah_MCA's recommendations, those I didn't follow were mostly braking points that were too soon, but that's because I am too slow to begin braking at those points. The visual cues to know when to accelerate have been a good help.

And TCS 0 as adviced by @Saargasm is fine, that car does not need TCS, it needs nitro 😂

Went down to 1:29.060 😊 (with approximatively 20 laps total on this TT at the moment).

Lot of room for improvement. As in last TT I am able to gain or lose 10th everywhere. A good lap could easily be gold (which was not at all the case on the previous TT after a handful of laps)

I've been consistently in the 1:29's on my 10 laps session, with a optimal lap at 1:28.408 which is inside gold time (at the moment).

I know..... this @djolliea guy is throwing us in every corner, we look like a bunch of amateurs 🤣
26.2..... I have NO clue were to find a freaking half of a second 🤣

That time is just insane, 8th .... awesome! Congrats! 👌🙏🙏

Oh man, keep going!! That’s huge improvement over 10-laps. Watch a couple more guides because there are more takeaways to be had and their styles might be more similar to yours. You never know. But I do know you’re definitely capable of getting gold this TT!

Solid S1 time - at our skill, there’s about 0.25 seconds to gain
S2 - like me, this is where you’ll gain your time. Set playback speed to like 0.5 on YouTube and pay attention to the throttle inputs and the line. Optimal times to your optimal times is 0.9-seconds for this sector
S3 is pretty good, but imo it’s a crapshoot lol. You have to nail the braking point and more importantly ease off the brakes at just the right time to get tail to open before throttling it hard.

Feels great! Hard work pays off I guess. :D But tbh I'm still not entirely satisfied with the lap. Will definitely try to slice off that missing tenth or two later.

Anyway, here's the lap:

Right. So take everything I do in the second sector and throw it in the trash. You destroyed the second sector!

Which brings up another point. Whoever set the sectors for some of these tracks needs to be fired.

For anyone who doesn't want to chase an alien, here's my replay (assuming I got it to upload correctly since it was in an endless loop not doing so my first attempt).

My ideal was a 1:26.613. I may be regretting adding many of you to my friends list, because it has made me drop like a rock down my friends leaderboard. I do get a kick out of some of your liveries, though. Among those are flames, Jurassic Park, the Scooby Doo van, and a tri of delivery vans decked out in USPS, UPS, and DHL colors. I stuck with my black rental. :D

Request sent. You’ll now have a short bus and if you download an A-Team livery you’ll have collected the whole set!
