Right now more than 50% of people registered managed to get at least Silver. That may vary a bit when gold improve, but most likely that will remain kind of similar
That was 25% for the Escudo, and 20% for the SF19 - so this one is objectively quite a bit "easier".

That doesn't mean some people won't have trouble with it.
I may well come back in a few days saying I can't get past the CoD...

Yes, thats a fair point. Makes sense.

Its not „easy” (relativly and stats already shows that) because of track but because of gr4, you dont loose in this cars as much time when late on throttle as for example in superformula + they are easy to drive especialy in gt7.
Personally i'm not completely with you on this, for me, faster cars suit me more and i have the feeling that the room for error is smaller when the car is slower cause throttle input is slower but that could very well be a personal issue

I'm curious how these numbers compare when the entry is over, but if your prediction is right it is def a personal issue cause numbers don't lie :)

Last night I decided to make a start on this event, and decided to work with cars that are not the META. I first took out the M4, and man that thing is slow! After 10 laps I'd managed a 1:49.7 as my best lap. It's dependable and planted, but I just can't get the lap times out of it.

So I then jumped into a car I've not used but wanted to make a livery for, the McLaren 650S. First lap was messy and it was a 1:49.4. Braking points and turning points are very different to the approach with the M4, so lots of adjustment. 4 laps later I'd managed a 1:48.4. Still a messy lap, far from perfected the handling of this car, but I'm certain I can get a gold time with it! I'm going to keep working at it and post my result when I've got all I can out of it.

Yesterday I tried some laps with GT-R and did 1:47.947
Close to gold, but still isn't enough.

Today didn't manage to improve.
Chicane is killing me.

1:46:681

Sadly, I did not record the replay on this one, did a mistake and just left the session. I don't think I can recover it, or can I?
Anyway, for this one, I did the chicane of death on 5 for like the 3rd time. Actually 1st and 2nd sectors were not the best but only lost 0.2 on them.

My ideal lap says 1:46:201 but this is enough for this time trial. Sure gold, and had a lot of fun with the GTR

Managed a 1:46.1 and I'm done. I am pretty sure I could get into the 1:45s if I dared not lift for the death chicane. I lifted pretty significantly this run in an otherwise good lap in order to bank the lap. I'm sure there is time to gain elsewhere and I enjoy this combo so I'd normally work it a bit more... except for that chicane, just not worth putting in the effort with that trap waiting near the end of every lap. Improved a lot on this track in just a few days so happy about that. Good luck.

I know there are a couple of other threads about time trials but they seem to be more about rewards (or lack of) than the event.
Starting this for those that want to discuss the tracks, cars techniques etc, like the one over at GTS Forum.

Kick off with a couple of comments about LeMans:

1) I don't think I've ever driven LeMans in the dark before - Wow! Lovely!
2) I'm well used to being many, many seconds behind Aliens in the Time Trials on GTS. But this is a whole different level! I know LeMans well, took the Peugeot 908 out and finished..... around...... 40 seconds off the leader!! How on earth do they do that???? 3 minutes 10 seconds??? OMG!

Time Trials are a brilliant way to gauge how you're progressing as a driver and am so glad they're back here.
If you want to do some time attack and discuss about setup you can join on fb. I stsrted this group to share some video of great laps. https://www.facebook.com/groups/464523412187001/?ref=share_group_link

This one not easy for me, despite the consensus that it's a breeze. May be my dislike of the track affecting things. Got a couple of tenths under the silver time in the Alfa. There's more time there but I might just leave it and hope it hangs on, don't feel like spending a lot of effort on this one. Bring on Interlagos instead.

It's all about that chicane of death...

Put in another 50km in the McLaren tonight but made so many mistakes. Nearly matched my previous best but I think one too many beers for optimal performance! Might retire the 650S for now and try the WRX...

Managed to squeeze another tenth and a half off my time to remain in the top 3%. The next step for me is to watch a couple of the videos posted in this thread to see what I'm doing wrong.

Straight in with a 47.5

Seemed reasonably easy to get into the 47s so I feel like the Gold time could come down. Lap wasn't even tight, I was up and down on the delta during subsequent laps, so if I can put it all together I reckon I could knock a good few tenths off IMO.

Will gauge how it goes though as I put a lot of time in to the SSS just to scrape Gold.

Mind, as heavy as the GT-R feels I do like the flowing nature of Dragon Trail - don't mind the notorious chicane either; that's not to say it hasn't accounted for a few restarts.

Does anyone else get this where sometimes I'll do a couple of laps and exit out and it just hasn't recorded it at all? Frustrating since it was a silver time as well.

Just done another and it's not recorded it either wtf :banghead:

I have set my fastest time with the GTR, came close with the SLS but can't seem to work around the little oversteer it has, tried the WRX, Silvia, SLS, M4, Viper, but for me GTR is quite stable flat out through the death chicane, but I'm losing time on the first corner., still I'm at 1:46.307 right now so I'm not complaining, mist the apex on the final corner and had a tiny moment in corner one.
But I will sure try the Huracan, altho I refused driving it after I did the catalunya CE 🤣

My tip for all those who have big problems with the GT-R to get on a fast lap and find it "too heavy" or say it is too underpowered..... You are probably standing too long and/or too hard on the Brake, this makes the GT-R "stiff" and steers badly in the corners. Exactly this behavior then feels as if he cannot drive well around the curve and you have to brake him hard. Be brave and test it with a hard braking at first, but then significantly reduce the braking force and let the car "roll" a little more into the curve.

My problem with the GT-R is the extreme understeer as soon as i hopp on the throttle again at the apex. I often have to let go again as i wouldn't get the corner. I don't experience this as much in other 4WD like the Genesis.
