The Radical any time I attempt to go over the sausage curbs.

I know I'm behind here, but I was sweating bullets when I went to bed two nights ago. I was sitting at #298 globally. Imagine my surprise when I log in today and see I stayed in the top 300! :D How did I only lose one spot in those final hours?

On to the current challenge...I would rather not speak on it. I hopped on before watching the lap replays here, so I wasn't sure what to expect. The sausage curbs. The incorrect gearing. Double shifting. I have realized I did nothing right. :dunce:

This one realy doesn't suit me well, I spend 400km yesterday evening on the laptop while the wife was netflixing, just could not get under 40.
Today i did like another 100km and luckly find myself at 39.8xx
if I look at the leaderboard now that isn't to bad, but just 2.07%.....damn these top guys are fast

And damn what do I have to push (and fly) on this one to get even up in de leaderboard 🤪🤣🤣

Here my best until now, May the thumbs rest for a moment now 🤣

That's quite a good one. What do you mean by "on the laptop"? Are you using the PS App to see through the PC screen instead of TV?

Yes, often I play with PS remote app , gives me more time on track while the wife is happy too 🤣🤣, it's far from ideal because I'm on a PS4 slim, then the output is 720p on laptop, but often it gets the job done 🤣

For the double shift, I double tap the shifter with about a quarter second gap in between. That works every time for me.
I have tried your advice and honestly I don't gain any time if there is small delay between double shift. I think it needs to be shifted as quickly as possible. However It might be difficult for me every time, and when I miss it I start losing time.

What is your time? Can you share your lap so I can see how you are gaining speed with 1/25s delay shifting?

I have studied @half_sourly lap and there we can clearly see advantage of his technique, I find it brilliant what he is doing, to double shift extremely quickly after existing sausages from third to fifth and staying in fifth until next braking zone. Time gained.

I've heard people like Kie25 say you have to lift off the throttle a moment while you double shift; apparently that helps. I just keep my foot down and shift twice; not too fast, just a normal shift followed immediately by another normal shift. Seems to do the job.

Yes I saw it in your replay. Guess I will need to practice more on this one. I do get it sometimes right. Thanks for the advice and your replay, you got some serious skills! I learned a lot from you. For me, now to three famous words how to get better, practice, practice aaaand.... Practice 😁

I've tried couple of times but I never saw it reliable, getting random disconnection here and there.
It "may" still be ok playing assassin creed & co. It's less ok approaching a turn.

BTW setting your times in this condition doesn't help my self-esteem. Why have I asked?!? :ouch:

😜

What the deal with double shifting and where to do it?
I'm at a 39.3 without it, so wondering if there is more time to grab?
I'm upshifting when the rev bar is approx. 1/3 of the way across.....
Don't tell him guys, never give them aliens extra information 🤣

39.3 is quite a nice time already, I'm not sure you will win a lot by double shifting but seems to be a tiny bit quicker to go from 4 to 6 on the straight and from 3 to 5 after the famous Salami’s 🤣

But if I try without and normal shift at 50/60% it doesn't make my laptop seriously faster, but that my incompetence 🤣🤣

I am 0.600 behind you so don't take my advices... But... Watch replay of @half_sourly posted here few posts before, or thekie25 on YouTube. Car loses some milliseconds while shifting so it might be slightly faster to skip a gear.

Well I ran 3 laps and got 1'43.838, idk what everyone is talking about with the sausage thing. Has nothing to do with the car in general. But what I can differentiate on is the feel of this car, it's easy to lose control if you hit the corners. The only thing that troubles me is the 3-turn chicane after the start(Sector 1). I go fast and end up running into the wall which costs me time/penalty.

So any tips you guys can lend me would help.

The fastest way through the chicane in the first sector is to go over the two red sausage kerbs, it saves you a lot of time. But touching the sausages even slightly or going in a wrong angle will send the Radical to space. Try and you shall see.

That’s a hell of a lap with that setup!
That’s why I did this. She can play or watch whatever she wants. She says it doesn’t count as quality time but we’re in the same room, not sure what more she wants. 😂

I predict many of us will be in the 1:38's by the end. Once you get past the sausages, the rest is tricky, but not overly so.
Nicely done! That’s the goal is to squeak into the 38’s. Time to start watching replays to see where I’m losing it all. Off the hop I know I’m losing 1/2 second in turns 2-3 alone.
So many fast sections means it’s definitely another one where minor mistakes add up fast.

Definitely don’t need to lift off, it’s a placebo. The game cuts throttle as soon as you click the shifter.
The problem is that there’s a too fast and a too slow to hit the double and everything registers it different. The controller X/O, L1/R1, and even between steering wheels depending on the length of the shifter arm all require a different pace.
If anyone is struggling getting consistent double shifts, focus on just practicing the shifts for a lap or two changing the pace of it and you’ll quickly find it and build the muscle memory to get it nailed.

Not quite enough for #4 (awesome time @Metalgear9493 ), but I found some improvement today. I predict many of us will be in the 1:38's by the end. Once you get past the sausages, the rest is tricky, but not overly so.

Right now, I'm at a 1:39.8. My lap is below if you wanna watch.

Thanks for showing how you double shift. That was great lap.
(If you didn't bounce on first sausage you would gain at least 0.300 maybe more.)

Quick session today, I could not for the LIFE of me get round those raised vibrators. When I finally got through them I got a clean lap.. there is loads of time to be made but I’m happy with progress so far… here’s a souvenir from my first attempt, I’ll upload my lap later although it’s nowhere near the brilliant laps other forum members have already put in (I’m looking at you, @half_sourly! 🙌🏽)

@2Quickrides your move 😎. Mega setup by the way! @Gomario JSP more proof that you are the alien, next you’ll be telling us you set super quick times using dialup and a Nokia 3310!! 👽

with my time of 1'40'734, which I failed to improve yesterday and which I could not improve by April 25 (2 days before the closing), I took a leap back in the ranking quite impressive !!!! In 2 days I went from position 2000 to position 6013!!!!! 1675 pilots are between 1'40 and 1'39, 200 pilots are between 1'39 and 1'38 and only 5 are under 1'38. It's still quite impressive for a fairly technical circuit (especially the first long bend and the chicane with its sausages). This makes a fairly large proportion of pilots who have gold compared to other TTs.
I think I still have a lot of work to do on this circuit !!!!!! 😱😱😱
