I'm getting there as well...after all the suicidal thoughts, despair and anger, I finally managed to at the very least improve my 1:16.4, to a 1:16.1. Problem is, I have no idea how I did it. I just snapped all the pieces in place, I guess.

But, still 3 more tenths to find, and even that is gonna be a huge struggle...this is far from over. But improving 3 tenths gave me a small motivation boost at least, as I was confident I would be stuck at 1:16.4. Thankfully I was wrong. :scared:

I even watched the WR replay, and I learned 0 things from it.

Most of the big names are missing from the Fuji time trial, I'm expecting them to push from tonight after the Olympic TT closes. I'm on 1:41.354 right now, but I think gold might move to sub 1:41

I'm with you on this - I just posted a 1.41.4 something - with the RSR - fairly proud as that time was "worked" out by me - no lap guides have been studied yet. The RSR is so hard to rotate through so many of those corners on Fuji. Optimum was 1.41.1 so hopeful I have enough in the tank to keep the gold time when all the top drivers decide to give it a go.

GG. I didn't make gold, and I feel like the biggest loser on the planet right now.

Deep Fried didn't help either.

Excuse me as I go weep in a corner now.

Picked up on my time at Fuji to a 1:40.470 in the Huracan. When I went to exit the session, the game sorta froze. I say sorta, because the screen was frozen aside from the Lap 16 time counter on the side which was continuing to flash. But I couldn't do anything else other than quit the game. When I logged back on, my time stood, but it didn't count any mileage for my daily workout.

Since I needed to run some more laps to get my mileage back, I tried the Grand Valley TT. Not really a fan of the combo right now. The car feels so understeery yet also spins its tires relentlessly in the final tunnel. The penalty zone sucks, too. They never let me serve it the first time around, so my next lap automatically gets ruined as well when it does force me to slow down. Such a pain in the butt. For my last complaint, I much prefer the old Grand Valley that was actually a racetrack. Yeah, this one looks nice, but I feel like I'm playing another game entirely, and I just don't enjoy it. :indiff:

I have this SO many times, this evening had to reboot the game 4 times in 15 minutes, at first it was only at DF, now Fuji has the same, very annoying, and most of the time it does hang on reboot to during the leading circle on PS4 ....... and indeed only the dashes flashes

I tried the Fuji time trial in 3 different cars. I started with the Audi R8 LMS Evo, because originally the top time was set in it. Then I tried the Subaru BRZ GT300, because it was the quickest one in the Catalunya time trial. Then I noticed that the guy that set the top time in the R8 beat his own top time in the Lamborghini Huracan GT3, so I tried the Huracan. Out of those 3, for me the Huracan was by far the best. It was the quickest and the easiest to drive, and I set a new personal record in like 30 minutes.

Audi R8 LMS Evo - 1'40.689

The Audi handles pretty well. Has very good traction, but not as well balanced handling-wise as the Subaru.

Subaru BRZ GT300 - 1'40.819

The Subaru's handling is fairly neutral and is very nimble, but has horrible traction, quite difficult to put the power down. It lost out to the Audi in the first sector/corner because it wasn't able to put the power down out of the slow hairpin. But its superior front end grip helped it gain back some time in the second fast section. The third sector was more or less even, as there were a mix of corners and traction zones.

Lamborghini Huracan GT3 - 1'40.382

The Lamborghini pretty much combines the traction of the R8 with the handling balance of the BRZ. It was pretty much quickest everywhere.

For the time trial at Grand Valley, I absolutely hate it. There is nothing I like about it. I did just enough to get gold, currently at 1'17.273, and I really hope I don't have to go back to it.

Hi Everyone,
First post here having just bought GT7 this weekend. First time playing since GT5 around 12 years ago.
I spent about 3 hours on the Olympic Time Trial aiming for silver and finally made a 1:18.374. First sector time was 22.001, but I was loosing out on S2 and S3. Still a few things I need to familiarise myself with.
I'm using DualSense with Motion Steering, +5 break balance, +3 traction control and auto transmission. I'm aware there's time to be made with manual, but I'm still trying to get a feel for the tracks and the racing in general at the moment before I go there. Is Motion Steering the best method for fast times with DualSense, and what settings should I be looking at to get the most out of it? Appreciate any advise.
Really happy with this game so far and looking forward to receiving the 2M coins and grinding future time trials.

Welcome to GTPlanet!

1:15.878. in the end, missed it by two tenths... :(

If you can get used to it and don't mind the lack of feedback, I think it is.
Ah man, I feel for you. Sorry, that’s a shame. A friend of mine who had followed through with 23 gold medals up until this point missed this one too, ending with a 15.921.

On a personal note I ended with a 1’15.673 which I set some days ago and didn’t managed to muster the energy and will needed to go down further than that, could perhaps potentially have gotten down to a .5XX somewhere but I have to say I’m quite satisfied with this one. 24th gold, 1,24%, 493rd overall, 4th in Sweden.

This was by far the most difficult time trial to date, just by virtue of having the gold threshold lowered from 3,0% to 1,5% and with the high stakes up for grabs with the World Tour people going all in. In a tricky combination as well. NSX at Nordschleife was tricky for many but that one doesn’t even come close to this one here to be honest.

My lap here, on DualSense.

Wow, I'm really liking this Grand Valley Highway TT. I normally hate this track, but because it's the short style, it's way better. If it were reverse it would be my favorite version of this track. Anyway, put in about 15 laps and am at 1:18.5. Mid-pack silver for now. I really like that the car doesnt get squirrley on the brakes going in to turn 2 (the hairpin). The fast downhill section is great. Actually, that whole middle part is awesome. I'm pretty much on the gas and the brakes at the same time dancing my feet around and modulating as required. Holy hell does this engine need to be revved out, though. 5th gear is a pig.

But this should be a fun one to chase for gold. Hopefully I can get there, but I'm guessing some faster laps are coming in the next week. May need to run a 1:17 flat or better to get gold by the end of this.

And already much faster than me 😅welcome here.
Motion steering is when you act as if the controller was a wheel, right ? Not too tiring having your arms in the air for 3 hours ?

Here are the results of TT24, the Olympic Esports Series 2023 Motor Sport Event in the Toyota GR010 HYBRID '21 at Deep Forest Raceway.

Highlights:
  • Highest number of participants at 166,328.
  • This would have been a very middle of the road TT on most metrics if the gold (more difficult at within 1.5% from #1 instead of 3%) and bronze (easier at 20% instead of 10%) reward percentages were not fiddled with. Evidence in the gold plus silver proportion (close to average to date), proportion below 1% (ditto) and gap 1 to 100 (slightly 'easier' than usual). But they did meddle with the percentages, so...
  • This turned out to be the most difficult to date to get gold, by some margin. Only 0.83% of all drivers, or 1,386 drivers, got gold. Should the usual threshold have been in place, 5.9% of drivers would have got gold, still more difficult than average.
  • Easiest to get bronze and to get any reward. Really you got money here unless you only did one lap and fell asleep for a while before you got over the line.
  • The number of drivers with gold in all TTs to date has dropped from 214 to 137. This would have been 198 if the 3% threshold had applied.

Drivers with gold in all TTs
I gathered the data for this so thought I'd start including it. I've split the graphs because the high early numbers mean the later low numbers are barely legible when all the data is on one graph.

The skew brought on by the reward fiddle is clearly evident here.

If you were chasing gold, absolutely not. But on balance, it was moderate. This is mainly because of the 20% bronze threshold and the fact that all the very good players took part and gave their best, eliminating the long leading tail we sometimes see, where one or two are way in front of the rest of those within the top 100 or the top 1%.
TT3.jpg
  • My time of 1:15.760 left me in position 771, which was in the top 0.46%.
  • Gap to first (1.36%, so the gold streak continues) and percentile were below my overall averages; always good.
  • Gap to #100 (0.67%) was just above my average.
  • There is a handy site (which I heard about here) where you can see your national placing. Apparently I was 56th in the UK out of 5,022. I'm applying for Bulgarian citizenship; my time would have been national first there.
