55 for blue Corvette!!!
WatkinsTT-almost4.jpg

I blew the first sector, ran it 0.2-0.3s faster before, but anything after that was catching it up, keeping up with it and finally blasting past it. I finally nailed the last three corners in one lap that actually mattered. What a satisfying feeling.

This is my target lap time that might actually hold. That is pretty all I can do here on my own.
I will watch some lapguides for this TT to see if there's any tips that might be useful for my setting. And I think I'll settle for Corvette for this TT. Will try to improve still, if only for the first sector.

What is it about the final corner that makes it so difficult? It's plenty wide and you can take lots of speed through there. And yet every time I'm on a PB, I manage to eff it up. So while I improved my time to a 1:54.106, I scraped the last turn wall on the lap.

Tomorrow will be my last ride in the TT TT. I want to get back into the top 1000 for that one before it's over.

You got me amigo!! 😂😂😂 I was super pleased to get into the 1:53 club but it was such a small improvement I didn’t feel it was worth spamming y’all with it.

I had a much more productive session this evening; it went from agony to jubilation (the opposite of today in the 1st Ashes test!) as I was about to set a monster time (I reckon 1:53.6 from the splits/ghost) and went all out on the final corner and… clipped the wall on exit. The PAIN of watching the time fade away in those final few hundred metres!!

But, I did put in a properly decent lap a few minutes later.. YAY! Left a tenth of a second or so on the final corner just to guarantee a new PB but properly chuffed… I AM TOP OF MY FRIENDSHIP TABLE! I imagine a Finnish flag will pop up at number one shortly (or some guy on a Nokia 3310..) but for now imma milk it

Definitely more time to game, I really wanna nail this one and get the perfect lap. I find the combination of track/car/tyres absolutely perfect on this one! Enjoy it while you can..
That is a real nice and smooth lap mate!, you become faster and faster on the trials!

I haven't touched my silvia for a while, i will again when i have golded them all, then i'm going to see if i'm able to joint the 53"...,
For now i did a fair amount of cars yesterday and this morning again...

Renault Sport Mégane Gr.4

Difficult to adapt to, is has power enough but i felt i needed to drive different lines to throttle as early as possible without understeering into the barriers, i took me a few laps to get used to is, it does stick and grip!, in the end mid 55'

Volkswagen Scirocco Gr.4

Decent option for a ff model, found it easy to drive, less power understeer than the Renault and has enough power, sort of in between car, not the best, not the worst

Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport '16

Kind of strange in the gearing, but it rotates like a porsche and does a good job, i can certainly appriciate the lift of rotating thing, not as quick as i hoped, but i think i can get a descent time with it if i stint it

Peugeot RCZ Gr.4

It is what i expecten from it, it does it's job but i don't know what it is, it feels slow but it isn't...
i did like the gering tho, but not my first pick.....

Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Final Edition Gr.4

This was a real pain in the a*s at first, i thought this would be way easier to drive than it is, it feels like they have forgotten to put in an extra 100hp....
i almost gave up on it, most of the awd cars on this track i don't like...
but after a few laps pushing undertood a little more how to drive it and went to 55' low..
but if you have trouble golding it....,

Lexus RC F Gr.4

Solid, quick, rotates good, very stable, sound nice, and is just easy, i found it almost as easy as the Jag, by all means not as quick as the Silvia and jag but just a predictable car with a good pace.

Honda NSX Gr.4

I had high hopes for this one, and i was right, i'm going to spend some extra time on this, first lap i did was a 55' low so there should be a descent time in it, very stable thru the busstop, fast, very predictable en rotates nicely even in mid corner when lifting
I fel in love with it on Daytona, but here with RH's without skliding it's even better, to be continued

GT by Citroën Gr.4

Faster than i expected!, it sounds fast, grips, and feels light, a good option!, i was rather fast on my first lap,

Audi TT Cup '16

Quite fast for a 4wd here, i had some trouble getting thru the busstop at first with some sliding under breaking, but when you master that the rest of the lap felt ok-ish, little understeer as expecten so had to lift here and there in mid corner that cost me some time, but still fairly easy gold with a 55.8 ( for now )

Aston Martin Vantage Gr.4

ok-ish...., does't give me a real good feeling on track, feels heavy, sounds ok tho, but i'm not in love with it, it has nothing special .... it does it's job but there a certainly better options to pick

Alfa Romeo 4C Gr.4

This was fun!, if you lift under steering input or drop a gear it oversteers like crazy, i drifted T1 immidiately, you need a few laps to get use to it, but it feel so light! and lap after lap i was getting faster, i'm going to set a few more laps with it and curious were it could end time-wise...

BMW M4 Gr.4

Last one, the M4....... what a pain in the a*s....., it's slow as hel*
feels like it has a gazillion gears without horespower.....
i did like 10 laps and wasn't even close to gold...., by FAR the worst option of them all...
and still the only one for me to gold, maby if i figure out the gearing i can win some time, but i have to spend some time with it i quess.....

Yeah I've always struggled with it too, that and the toe are the two corners where I find myself in a big steaming pile of understeer and the racing hard tyres are not helping here. I think with the final corner there is very little margin for error; if you nail the penultimate corner there is very little time to get back to the left hand side of the track, get the car stable, get the correct braking input and get the car turned in to make the apex. I also clip the grass on the left on turn in sometimes and it feels really awkwardly placed like there could just be another foot of tarmac there. I think it took me about 150 attempts when they added the track to GT7 to get anywhere near the apex! Satisfying when you get it right though and that's what it's all about
Oeefff.... not realy formiliair with the track and car, but this is going to be sliding to the gold on SM's 🤣🤣, should be fun
This one has countersteering assist strong written all over it!

EDIT: quick go on TTTsukuba. Although frustrating you’ve got to give it to them, there is a subtlety to this TT that reveals itself the more you do it. I wish I had more time and patience because if you can get it just right it’s quite fun. Slightest mistake and it’s splashy city though. The numb/light steering of the Audi is frustrating though, very realistic but.. frustrating. Feels just like an Audi 😅😅

Tsukuba - I was so close to silver on my initial few laps last week I went back this morning to set a time just under 1:11, so in the 1.10's but hoping it will hold as I have a habit of having 4.87% times that slip to bronze on the last night. I will have a look after doing the Manu later tonight when properly warmed up.

Would be nice to get a million credits as the glitched Ford is returning to the Legendary dealer this week (I think?)

Wohooo I am so HAPPY!!!! I nailed all sectors in one lap, wohooooo! And just look at MEGA GT LEGENENDS after me on leaderboard, yes ok I know it's 13 hours left and now they will beat my time but hey let me be happy for a moment that I am before such great champions!!! 😁😁😁

You sir is an alien! With DS controller, Motion Steering and MT transmission? That's amazing if you ask me. 👍 😀

8 laps at WC TT, still no improvement... I need to nail the first turn, it commands such a long flatout section, that if not down right loose more than a second before de bus stop...

View attachment 1266962

Lap count 48
Slow in, fast out is key to turn 1. Brake before the 200 board, get into the apex and get on the throttle as early and as hard as you can and use all the exit curbs. As long as your right side tires are on the curbs it’s clean. Left side of the car can be over the other side of the exit curb.

Edit: not sure which car you are using @Lomic (Silvia maybe?) - but likely 3rd gear required and apex speed wants to be 115-120km/h

Dudddeeee what a lap! I’m going to call it too, that’s classic alien behaviour! Although as you are also Scandinavian I think it’s fair to say it’s in your DNA and you are just back where you belong 😁

I did quite a few laps this evening with my optimal teasing in the low 1:08’s, just one magic lap and I could crack the top 100! Ultimately I just wanted to get within 1% of the WR, tough ask on a short lap and yeah.. I had it in the bag and completely shanked

the last corner.

So close 🤯😂 I’m very happy with the time but the lap itself was a mess. We have to call times up at some point so that will do, not my favourite trial but by far not the worst and I’m always happy when they try something new! On to Brands Hatch, another one of my favourite tracks and a car that looks like an absolute mystery. My guess is that its handling will be… challenging, but let’s give it the benefit of the doubt for now 😁 good night friends!!

I've been quiet here because life has been busy. I'm hopeful the aliens don't come out and make improvements at Tsukuba tonight. I have a tenth in hand before I drop back into silver territory...

But I focused on Watkins Glen tonight, where I was 3 tenths from gold. Didn't take too long to log a 1:56 flat in the S15. Really starting to enjoy this one now! I can see where I can find another couple tenths, so I'll be back for a bit more during the week to see if I can make that a more comfortable gold and creap up the ranks a bit!

Done and dusted with the Tsukuba TT TT. I felt hopelessly lost on the first lap. The car felt so horribly slow and understeery, I thought that maybe had some aids been switched on even though I don't use them. I even paused the game to check. Nope. I guess I was just so used to the nimble Silvia at the Glen, it was throwing me off. Anyway...my goal was to jump back into the top 1000 before the TT ended. Mission accomplished. I set my best only 5 laps in, easily thumping my previous record. One of those "where did that come from??" laps. I ran 10 more and only once came close to that time again.

I slotted myself up a couple of spots from before, though still well down my friends list. If it wasn't for all the crazy flying Finns, it wouldn't look as bad. I'm convinced there is either snow, ice, or rain on the road at all times up there, so that's all you know. It's the only thing that could explain such domination! I did manage to split the other Nordic guys. That feels like win for me! :P
